RO - II PERM.

STORAGE TANK

DESIGN CRITERIA
The ring wall is designed for the purpose to support the tank containing liquid. Design is
based on limit state method. Assumptions are made that weight of the tank shell and roof
is coming on the ring wall whereas the liquid is evenly distributed over the inner area of the
ring wall which is filled with compacted selected soil and sand in different layers. It is checked
that the pressure under ring wall at founding level does not exceed the gross allowable
pressure of the soil. The reinforcement is worked out to resist hoop stress resulting from
lateral pressure of confined earth.
