The Matti National High School Formerly DICNHS – Matti HS Annex continuously spanned its timeline in their commitment of
upholding the vision of the DEPED

The DICNHS – Matti High School Annex continuously spanned its timeline in their commitment of upholding the vision of the
Department of Education. The DICNHS – Matti High School Annex was founded in 2009 as DICNHS – Matti Extension thru the
collaborative effort of the late Brgy. Capt. Alexander Navales, Brgy. Councilor Geraldo Labra, The late Brgy. Councilor Edwardo
Alo, Elem. Principal – Elsie Dagoy, City Schools Division Superintendent – Alfonso G. Gomez Jr., Dr. Concepcion R. Cadungog
and with Mrs. Imelda C. Cardines as the School head. The school was housed at Remedios Saplala Elementary School manned by
12 volunteer teachers. The school formally opened on June 1, 2009 with the initial enrollment figure of 334 students from 1st to
4th year. By 2010, the school was officially declared as DICNHS Matti High School Annex by the Regional Director of the
Department of Education.

A year later, the school has its newly relocated 2 hectare-site donated by the Provincial Government spearheaded by the Provincial
Governor Douglas Ra. Cagas. Thru the collaborative effort of the Provincial Government, Brgy. Officials, Parents and different
organizations; 2 makeshift classrooms were built for official use. By the end of 2010, there were already 8 makeshift classrooms,
a Science Laboratory and 8 teacher-items were given to the school thru the initiative of Governor Douglas Ra. Cagas and
Congressman Marc Douglas Cagas IV.

By the year of 2011, monthly financial assistance of P10, 000 donated by the Korean Missionaries led by Mr. and Mrs. Inho Park
paved the way for the realization of the School’s Learning Information Center or Library and the walling of the makeshift
classrooms. On 2012, the school canteen, Mini-gymnasium and Multi-purpose buildings were established thru the initiative of the
Office of the Congress and Provincial Government followed by the construction of 10 more classrooms in the successive year with
2 classrooms headed by the project Sphere of DepEd and 8 classrooms funded by the PAGCOR.
For the School year 2014-2015, the newly built classrooms funded by PAGCOR were officially turned-over upon which a donation
from DepEd of 360 plastic armed-chairs and 10 teacher’s table were included for utilization for each classrooms. 4 Teacher-items
were given as well for the school thru the initiative of the Congress Office of Davao del Sur.
The year 2015 sprang glorious events for the school. Mr. Jaime B. Abris was appointed by the Schools Division Superintendent as
the newest School head taking charge of the administration in place of Mrs. Imelda T. Cardines as the newest EPS for Social Studies
of Digos City Division. Thru the initiative of Congresswoman Mercedes Chan- Cagas, a newly constructed gymnasium was
officially turned-over and now ready for utilization. Many historical and pioneering activities were hosted by the school as well.
For the first time, the school hosted the following major events: Division Level Seminar on Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM),
Division Level POPDEV National (PopQuiz) and on the spot skills exhibitions, Division Level Training of untrained K-12
Teachers. Despite insufficient facilities of the school, the entire school staffs were able to guarantee satisfaction as host for the said
events.

The school as well were fortunate to send students in different prestigious contests such as Regional Qualifiers for the 3rd Diwang-
Sagisag Kultura ng Filipinas for Quiz Bee and Regional Festival of Talents for Math Category in Sodoku and Regional Schools
Press Conference for Campus Journalism. For the first time as well, the School represented Region XI in the National Festival of
Talents – Technolympics for the Landscaping Category and ranked 6th.
By the year 2016, the school remarkably continues its realization of major projects such as the implementation of the K-12 Program
specifically on the 11th and 12th grade offering of the school. Significant additions to the curriculum of the school currently offers
program under the Tech-Voc Track with emphasis on Crop Production NC-I for Grade 11 and Organic Agriculture NC – II for
Grade 12. Facilities are improving as well with the newest addition of 4 new classrooms for Senior High School utilization and
with 14 registered enrollees administered by 4 well-rounded Senior high school teachers with Mr. Jaime B. Abris as the School-in-
charge. Last May 11, 2016, the School DICNHS – Matti High School annex was granted the opportunity to be converted into an
independent National High School and is now to be known as Matti National High School under the Republic Act No. 10841. An
enactment spearheaded by Congresswoman Mercedes Chan- Cagas of the House of Representatives.
Today, DICNHS – Matti High School continuously soars high in producing students who will soon be future leaders of the society,
upholding the Vision, Mission and Goals under the umbrella of the Department of Education.
