33. A particle starts from origin at t = 0 with a velocity 5 i ms and moves in x-y plane under the
action of a force which produces a constant acceleration of ( 4 i + 2 j ) ms-2.
(a) What is the y-coordinate of the particle at an instant when its x-coordinate is 84 m?
(b) What is the speed of the particle at this time?

34. A pump on the ground floor of a building can pump up water to fill a tank of volume 40m3 in
20minutes if the tank is 30m above the ground and the efficiency of the pump is 60%. How
much electric power is consumed by the pump? Given density of water = 1000 kg/m3 and
acceleration due to gravity = 9.8m/s2

35. The planet Mars take 1.88 years to complete on revolution around the sun. The mean distance
of the earth from the Sun is 1.5108 km. Calculate that of planet Mars?

36. A steam engine delivers 7.5×108J of work per minute and services 3.6 × 109J of heat per minute
from its boiler. What is the efficiency of the engine? How much heat is wasted per minute?
Also find the ratio of temperature of sink to the source.

37. A particle executes SHM along the x-axis, its displacement varies with the time according to the
equation: x(t) = 5.4 cos(6πt + π/4), where x(t) in metre and t is in second.
Determine the amplitude, frequency, period and initial phase of the motion.
