Saudi Aramco operates the world’s largest single hydrocarbon network, the Master
Gas System (MGS). The MGS is a gas gathering and processing system built in the
mid-1970s, and has been the backbone of the country's industrial network since the
system’s completion in 1982. The MGS enables Saudi Aramco to use or market
nearly all the gas associated with oil production and all non-associated gas produced
from deep gas reservoirs.

The purpose of the expansion facilities is to meet increased demand along the

7.1. General Description

The new Analog Telephone system shall be compatible with the Line Access
Gateway (LAG) system which was installed at EWPS-7 & EWPS-11 under BI-10-
00246.
The telephony network provision under this project for the EWG-2 pipeline is to
interface analog telephones to IP main Telephone Controllers located in Dhahran &
ABQAIQ through Line Access Gateway (LAG) in EWPS-7 / EWPS-11 Comms

Building. The LAG shall be interfaced with existing IT MPLS Routers at EWPS-7 and
EWPS-11 Communication buildings, as shown in the drawing XA-141881.001.

Ethernet ports in the existing IT MPLS Routers shall be utilized for this connectivity.
Analog outdoor Telephone sets shall be installed at the RTU shelters along the EWG-
2 pipeline locations, to cater telephone services for operations and maintenance. All
analog telephones shall be industrial-type that operates in harsh environment.
The Analog telephone at each RTU / LDS along the EWG-2 pipeline shall be
interfaced with the new OTN N2021R node. The OTNs in RTU/LDS Shelters shall be

9.2. System Spares
CONTRACTOR / VENDOR shall provide all commissioning and start-up spare parts
and consumables, such as fuses, likely to be required during these project phases as
part of the deliverable systems.
Any replacement parts required during the system Warranty Period shall be provided
at VENDOR’s expense.
DESCRIPTION
All spare parts supplied shall be packaged and protected for prolonged storage in the
environmental conditions applicable to the Package 1 (Western Region) sites.

CONTRACTOR / VENDOR shall provide a detailed list of recommended Operational
Spares, to cover the first two years of Operation.
CONTRACTOR shall provide a detailed list of tools and test equipment required to
operate and maintain the system.
