I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to do the following:
A. Identify the different terminologies in hand movements and positions in
Cheer dance.
B. Appreciate the value of proper exercise to the efficient and effective
performance in cheer dance and;
C. Execute the hand movements and positions in cheer dance properly.
II. Subject Matter
Topic: Hand Movements and Position in Cheer dance
Reference/s: Physical Education and Health- Grade 10, Learners Material.
pp.187.
Materials: PowerPoint, Laptop, Speaker,

III. Procedure
A. Preliminaries
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of attendance
4. Review
B. Motivation
The teacher will present a short video. Before that the teacher will give
questions to the students for them to be guided while watching the video.
 What university in the Philippines get championship trophy in 2018?
 What skills in gymnastics did you see?
C. Lesson Proper
The teacher will present the lesson to the students. Physical Education
and Health- Grade 10, Learners Material page 187. The teacher will also
demonstrate the hand movements and position in cheer dance while
discussing.
D. Application
The teacher will divide the class into 5 groups. Each group will be
assigned to execute 5 hand movement and position of cheer dance. The
teacher will give time to the students to practice their given task and
present it in class.
Group 1 – (Beginning Stance, Clap, High V, T- motion and half-T
Group 2- (Touchdown, Side Lunge, Bow and Narrow, Tabletop and
Low V.)
Group 3 – (Punch, Front lunge, Cheer stance, Low touchdown and
Clasp)
Group 4 – (Diagonal, L motion, T motion, Overhead Clasp,
Group 5 - (Low V, Blade, right low v, Left low v, broken t)
E. Generalization
After the activity the teacher will ask the following questions?
 What have you learned in our lesson for today?
 What are the different kinds of hand movements and position
of cheer dance? Can you enumerate them?
 What is the importance of learning cheer dance?
IV. Evaluation:
The teacher will show a series of picture of hand movements and
positions in cheer dance. The students will identify the picture and write
their answer in the ¼ sheet of paper and it will submit it in front.
V. Assignment:
In the same group, the teacher will let the groups make pom poms. The group
will decide what materials or color will be used in making pompoms. Their task
will be submitted next meeting.
