placed an emphasis on recalling or revisiting past lessons. The teacher
encourages student engagement in solving equations; she is the one
who writes on the blackboard while she assists the students in
answering the equation.

2. What instructional materials were used in teaching?

A variety of instructional materials were used. In addition to Google
Meet and PowerPoint presentation, the teacher also used books and a
blackboard.

3. Which of the principles in teaching facilitate the cognitive,

metacognitive, and positive motivational processes of learning?
The two principles used aided students' cognitive, metacognitive, and
motivational learning processes. Students can analyze what they have
learnt and the knowledge they have acquired by reviewing the
preceding topic. Applying the processes in solving an equation
improves the students' cognitive skills, and with the teacher's proper
guidance and encouragement, the students were motivated to learn.

notes here:
It is one of the ideal methods of teaching Mathematics to students
in which only the most important concepts or details are explained, and
students are given more time to solve equations. The teacher is
remarkable for using a blackboard in online teaching to demonstrate how
to calculate an equation to the students. Most teachers nowadays,
particularly in remote learning, will simply show the slides containing the
pre-solved problem, then quickly assign activities for the learners to S
complete, even if some of the students were lost in some steps of the
problem. It made me rethink my own experience as a student, why most Y
of my math teachers bombarded us with theories while providing few
examples on how we can use those theories in solving a different type
of problems or equations. Yes, I agree that it is crucial for learners to a
explore their own learning, yet effective learning also requires the
teacher's guidance or assistance. Y

At the end of this activity, the students will be able to identify and
describe the teacher’s activity and the behavior of the learners in these
activities.

she relates it to previous lessons. She focused more on solving problems
and equations that are relevant to the subject matter. Even though she
was the one writing on the board, she let her students think about the
next step in solving the equation. In this case, she acted as a facilitator.

Description of Learning Activities:

Problem Solving
The teacher proved that the pandemic is not hampering her ability to
provide a good education to her students. She effectively
demonstrated on how the students can solve equations regardless the
fact that they are in remote learning.

Description of Learner’s Participation (proportion of learners who

participated and quality of participation):

A significant number of students were participating in the discussion.

The students were unable to respond to some questions, but the
teacher guided them to the correct solution. The teacher called on
students who were not participating as much; some responded, while
others did not.

notes here: challenge for teachers, especially this pandemic. When teaching an
online course, you must approach it differently than you would in a
traditional classroom. This innovative instructional environment employs
a variety of methodologies and ideas. I admire the idea of using the
traditional chalk and board method of the teacher since the students can
see the step-by-step process in solving an equation, but maybe we can
incorporate other fun and engaging way in solving the equation and apply
it to real-life situations so that the students can see how they can benefit
in solving these equations.

immediately when the teacher asked a question.

3. What instructional materials are employed?

Google Meet, PowerPoint Presentation, Books and
Blackboard

4. How does the teacher assess the learning in the lesson?

Is she assessing the process or the product?
The teacher assessed the learning of the students by
providing mathematical problems or equations for them to
solved. Through this, the teacher assessed the learning
outcomes or if the students really have understood their
lesson.

5. What reasons does the teacher give in having such

learning activities?
Such activities were conducted to inculcate in the minds
of the students the method of solving quadratic equations
and to allow them to practice their problem-solving
abilities.
