I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, students are expected to:
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer
Mr./ Ms.______________________, kindly lead the
prayer.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be
thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on
earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily
bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive
those who trespass against us; and lead us not
into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.
2. Greetings
Good morning class!
Good morning, Ma’am
Are you feeling good today?
Yes ma’am
Classroom Management
“Before taking your seats, kindly
arranged your chairs and pick the pieces
of trash under your chair”.
“Before taking your seats, kindly

Bed
Before we proceed to our discussion, let me
remind you our classroom rules. Show me that
you are CHAMPS.
C – Check if there are candy wrappers or
piece of papers under your chair.
P – Participate actively
Yes ma’am
S – Stay focused
Are we clear?
3. Checking of attendance
Are there any absentees today?
None ma’am
TRUE OR FALSE
1. Like terms are terms in the polynomial
that have the same variable(s) with the
same exponents
2. The exponent changes when you’re
adding or subtracting a polynomial 1. True
3. 7𝑥2−2𝑥+3+6𝑥−2𝑥2≠ 5𝑥2+4𝑥+3
2. False
4. (2𝑥+7) –(3𝑦−2) +(𝑥−𝑦) = 3𝑥−4𝑦+9
3. False
5. (13𝑥+2𝑥−4𝑥)+(−7𝑦𝑧+4𝑦𝑧+9𝑦𝑧)=11𝑥+6𝑦𝑧
4. True
5. True
B. Developmental Activities
1. Motivation
Before we proceed to our new lesson, let’s play a
short game. It is called “Find Your X”. I have a
ball here which will be passed around until the
music stops. The student that has the ball will
choose his/her partner to guess the number of
variables that the equations shown in the screen
has.
Excellent Dexter.
3. ¿ w−3=10
Junfil: Sir no. 3 has one variable.
Excellent Junfil.
4.) 5x+22y= 7
Junly: Sir no. 4. Has two variables
5.) a-b= 5
Hazel: Sir no.5 problem has 2 variables.
Is it clear?
Yes ma’am
Problem:
The sum of two numbers is 44. If one
number is 10 more than the other, find
the numbers by framing a linear
let x be the number
equation.
x+10 be the other number
therefore, the linear equation can be framed as
x+x+10=44
2x+10=44
2x=44-10
2x=34
x=34/2
x=17
This means, one number is 17 and the other
number is 17 + 10 = 27.
Therefore, the two numbers are 17 and 27.
3. Analysis
Give yourselves a round of applause for
accomplishing the task.
linear equations.
Who has any ideas on what is a linear
equation?
Example:
Solution:
5x – 95 = 75
5x = 75 + 95
5x = 170
x = 170/5
x = 34
3. Find the value of y in the given
Therefore, the value of x is 34.
equation. 3y + 6 = 5y - 8
Solution:
3y +6 = 5y -8
3y -5y = -8 -6
-2y = -14
y = -14/-2
Are we clear with the examples? y =7
Therefore, the value of y is 7
Yes ma’am
Linear Equations in Two Variables
4. Application
Check whether the given value is a
solution of the given linear equation. If so,
illustrate the solution.
1. x+7= 16
1. ¿x+7=16 ; x=9 9+7= 16
16= 16, true
2.) 3y-7= 13 ; y=-2 Hence, x=9, is a solution.
3. 15w +5 = 80
15(5)+5= 80
75+5=80
Hence, x=5, is solution of 15w +5 =
80
4. 21x -12= 96
21(3) -12=96
63-12=96
51=96, False
Thus, x=3 is not a solution of
21x -12= 96
5. VALUING
6. EVALUATION
From the given replacement set, determine the
solution set of the given equation.
7. ASSIGNMENT
Check whether the given value is a solution of
the given linear equation. If so, illustrate the
solution.
1. 27w-5= 49 , w=2
2. 13x+10= 62, x=4
3. 8y -24= 16 , y= 3
4. 5x+10= 13, x= 3/5
5. 12x-9= 62, x=6
