1. Invitation
“Pune District Chess Circle” has the honor to invite all Chess Players from the State of Maharashtra to
participate in the “Maharashtra State U-8 Open & Girls Chess Championship 2022”.
2. Recognition
The championship is held under the auspices of Maharashtra Chess Association & organized by Pune
District Chess Circle and will serve as a selection event for the National U-8 Chess Championship 2022.
3. Selection of Maharashtra Team
Top 2 boys and Top 2 girls from this age group will be selected to represent Maharashtra State in
forthcoming National U - 8 Chess Championship for the Same Age Group. Players participating in this
championship will only be allowed to participate in National U-8 Chess Championship 2022,Haryana.
4. Eligibility Criteria
Only the players completing the following conditions are eligible to play the said chess
championship.
• Born on and after – 1st January 2014
• Only Indian Nationals are eligible to participate in this tournament.
All Necessary Precaution and the Standard Operating Procedures with respect to COVID-19
must be followed strictly. Wearing Mask is Compulsory, hands must be Sanitized, and social
distancing has to be Maintained.
• All entries should be strictly routed through the respective District Chess Associations
affiliated to MCA. No direct entries shall be entertained in any circumstances.
• Each District Association is entitled to field 2 players in Open & 2 in Girls in each of the Under-8
category.
• ‘Selected Player’ means the player selected from the respective District Selection Events.
Besides the above, the District Associations may enter an unlimited number of players as a
Donor Entry.

8. Event Schedule
Number of rounds will be decided depending on number of entries received, and will be declared
before Round 1:
9. AICF Registration
All participants in the State Championship should be registered with AICF for the year 2021-22.
Online AICF Registration is available on the website www.aicf.in those who have already
obtained registration cards from AICF Website for 2021-22 may be asked to show the copy of
the same. No entry will be accepted without AICF Player’s Registration for 2021-22 and such
player’s will not be paired.
10. System of Play
Tournament will be played with Swiss system. The format may be changed to other system in
emergency cases with the discretion of Chief Arbiter & Tournament Director with prior approval
from MCA & AICF.
11. Time Control
Digital clock 25 minutes each plus 10 second increment per move from number one
12. Tiebreaks
The latest tiebreak rules as set by AICF will be enforced in the championship.
13. Appeals
The Chief Arbiter Decision will be final & binding to all. In case of any discrepancy, the matter
will be handed over to Appeals Committee which will be formed during the Players’ meeting
14. Tournament Committee
The tournament committee consisting of the General Secretary. PDCC or his representative.
and representative from another district to be nominated by the PDCC shall decide on all
emergency matters. Before the start of First Round.
15. Withdrawals
A player may withdraw from the tournament at any stage after informing the Chief Arbiter in
writing.
17. Accommodation
The selected players will be given dormitory type free accommodation by the organizers while
the donor entry players need to cater the cost of accommodation on their own.
