able to do by the end of this lesson:
ISTE Standard 1.1 c in Empowered learner Standard:
Students use technology to seek feedback that I would like my students to be able to go through
informs and improves their practice and to the lesson plan and follow the steps correctly. I
demonstrate their learning in a variety of ways. want them to respond and be interactive with the
collaboration tool.
What is the student learning goal(s) for this lesson idea? At the end of the lesson, I would like my
students to be able to tell me who is in charge of our country, and where the president lives and
works at. I would also like them to be able to name the presidents we discuss in the lesson and
give me a well-known fact about them.

How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:

X Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by
teacher direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the
student and mostly practice based.

☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic
of learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The
teacher facilitates the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

X Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems
and completing projects to demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared
outside of the classroom. (Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the
school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another
class, or publishing via an outside source.)

Lesson idea implementation:

Throughout my lesson, I will be leading my students through the content, and they will be
responding to the lesson by answering the intro and assessment questions and interacting with the
slides activity that is posted. I will gauge their knowledge by seeing the answers to their introduction

questions and will be able to see what areas the students excelled at and what areas the students
need extra practice with. As the teacher, I will be able to see the responses and also respond
immediately to make sure I correct the confusion before continuing. We will then move onto a short
video that hooks and engages the students before moving on to the activity. The slides activity
allows students to be proactive and research a fact that they find interesting. I believe if the students
are responsible for researching, it will stick with them and they will remember the fact, or even
other facts as they search around.
Managing student learning:

I believe that students will be excited to participate in a new way of learning their lessons, the
questions and video will act as a great hook, and having the students access and control their lesson,
but looking for the content or looking for the video, they are having to pay attention to their
computer screen and follow along with my instruction. My students will also have the opportunity to
explore during a presentation activity, which transitions the lesson into active and socially learning
for the student. At the end of the lesson, students will participate in a quiz game which will allow for
competition among students and require a lot of focus for the students. They will be zoned into the
questions and excited to get their scores.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

This lesson plan follows the idea of engaging students. They are able to stay on track by interacting
and seeing the content in front them for learning. They are required to follow along and respond to
the lesson as they go forward, which enables them to keep working though questions and the
material presented.

Reflective Practice:

I do believe this tool is a better way of understanding. This tool allows for the teacher to deliver the
content, but also for students to see it and learn it through different forms, such as visually and
interactively. I look forward to being able to see where the class is at with understanding, by looking
at their answers from the assessment.
