Listen to a tapescript of seven people talking in seven different situations and choose the best answer for 7 questions based on the tapescript. MATERIAL(S) Student’s Book p102, Teacher’s Book p92 ACTIVITIES Ask pupils to discuss which kind of jobs they would not like to do in the future. PRE-LESSON When ready, collect pupils’ ideas and open up to a class discussion. 1) Ask pupils to read the instructions and check that they understand what they have to do. Elicit that must write adjectives formed from the nouns. Explain that in all but one instance, the adjectives will be different to the ones that describe people. Ask pupils to read the words in bold and explain anything they don't understand. Check pronunciation by saying each of the words in bold to the pupils and asking them to repeat after you. Correct where necessary. Pupils work individually to complete the task. They then check their answers in pairs before checking as a class. (Student’s book p102 Activity 1) 2. Ask pupils to read the instructions and check that they understand what they have to do. LESSON Explain that they will hear five short recordings and they will have to match the speakers to the feelings they express. DEVELOPMENT Ask pupils to read the words and explain anything they don't understand. Play the recording and ask pupils to write their answers. Then ask pupils to discuss their answers with a partner and to justify any answers that are different. Play the recording again if necessary, and check answers as a class. (Student’s book p102 Activity 2) 3. Ask pupils to read the instructions and check that they understand what they have to do. Ask pupils to read the questions and options and explain any unknown words. Remind pupils to pay attention to the tone of voice used by the speakers in order to figure out how they are feeling. Play the recording and ask pupils to circle their answers. Then ask pupils to discuss their answers with a partner and to justify any answers that are different. Play the recording again if necessary, and check answers as a class.
