SYLLABUS FOR PRELIMINARY WRITTEN EXAMINATION
(DEGREE STANDARD)

PAPER I: ARITHMETIC (SSC STANDARD) & TEST OF REASONING /


MENTAL ABILITY (1OO QUESTIONS)
Arithmetic: It wiil inciude questions on problems relating to number system, simple
interest, compound interest, ratio & proportiory average, percentage, profit & loss,
time & work, work & wages, time & distance, clocks & calendars, partnership,
mensuration etc.

Test of Reasoning: It will include questions of both verbal & non-verbal type and
include question on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualisatiory
spatial orientatiory problem solving, analysis, judgmen! decision making, visual
memory etc

PAPER II: GENERAL STUDIES (DEGREE STANDARD) (1OO OUESTIONS)

1. General Science - contemporary developments in science and technology and


their implications including matters of everyday observation and experience,
contemporary issues relating to protection of environment as may be
expected of a well educated person who has not made a special study of any
scientif ic discipline.
2. Current events of national and international importance.
3. History of India - emphasis will be on broad general understanding of the
subject in its social, economic, cultural and political aspects. Indian National
Movement.
4. Geography of India

5. Indian Polity and Economy - including the Country's political system, rural
development, planning and economic reforms in India.

SYLLABUS FOR FINAL WBITTEN EXAMINATION (DEGREE STANDARD)

PAPER I: ENGLISH (DEGREE STANDAR D)

The candidate's understanding of the English language, its correct usage and
his writing ability would be tested. Questions on short essay, comPrehensiory pr6cis,
letter writing, paragraph writing / report writing, kanslation from English to
Telugu etc. would be included

PAPER II: TELUGU (DEGREE STANDARD)

The candidate's understanding of the Telugu language, its correct usage and
his writing ability would be tested. Questions on short essay, comprehension, pr6cis,
letter writing, paragraph writing / report writing, translation from Telugu to
English etc. would be included

PAPER III: ARITHMETIC ( SSC STANDARD) & TEST OF REASONING l

II Step: After making the Payment, Candidate has to visit the website
www.slprb.ap.gov.in to submit the Online Application Form. Even after
making payment of fee, if the candidate fails to press submit the Online
Application Form, such cases shall be reiected without giving any notice
and fee once paid will not be refunded in any case.

III Step: Candidates who are declared qualified in Preliminary Written


Test have to again visit the website www.slprb.ap.gov.in for uploading
the Partll Application along with the original scanned copies of
Certif icates / Documents.

14. Those who intend to apply for more than one category of posts need to
submit only one application form.

15. Applications submitted after 1700 hrs on 24.11.2018 will not be accepted'
Incomplete applications will not be entertained.

1.5. CANDIDATES SHOULD ENSURE THEIR ELIGIBILITY FOR THE


EXAMINATION: The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that
they fulfill all eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their
admission at all stages of the examination will be purely provisional and subject to

satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.

Mere issue of Admit card/tlall ticket to the candidate will not imply that
his/her candidature has been finally cleared by the Board.

The board will take up verification of eligibility conditions with


reference to original documents only after the candidate is finally qualified.

17. Selection Procedure/Scheme: - The Selection Procedure/Scheme of the Exam

will be as follows

A) Prelimin Written Test ( Post Code Nos. 11, 12,13,74,15 and 16: Candidates
shall be required to apPear for the Preliminary Written Test in two papers (each

three hours duration) which will be qualifying, as given below. The syllabus for

Preliminary written Test will be from paper III and IV of Annexure-Il respectively.

NOTE: 1) The minimum marks to be secured by the candidates in order to qualify


in the Preliminary Written Test in both the papers is 40% for OCs; 35% for BCs; and
30% tor SCs/STs/Ex-servicemen. If a candidate fails to secure qualifying marks

even in one paper, he will be disqualified. Total marks for these two PaPers will not
be counted for the purpose of qualification.

2) Questions in the PaperJ and II will be objective in nature and will be set in
Englis[ Telugu and Urdu languages. Candidates have to answer the questions on
an OMR answer sheet using Blue / Black Ball Point pen only. For this PurPose
candidates should bring Blue / Black Ball Point pens along with them.

3) Marks obtained in Preliminary Written Test will have no relevance in the


Final selection, which will be based on the marks obtained in Final Examination
only.

Intimation Letter :- The candidate who qualifies in the Preliminary Written Test will
be informed the dates for downloading the Intimation letter through the website
www.slprb.ap.gov.in for appearing in the Physical Measurements Test (PMT)/
Physical Efficienry Test (PET) with details of Venue, Date and Time. Candidates
should bring the Intimation Letter when they come to attend the PMT/PET.

B) Physical Measurements Test (PMT):- Candidate who qualifies in the

Preliminary Written Test has to undergo Physical Measurements Test and should
meet the following requirements:-

i) For the Post Code Nos. 11 1 13 and 15:

(Men)

a) Height: Must not be less than 167.6 centimeters.


b) Chest: Must not be less than 86.3 centimetres round the chest
on full inspiration with a minimum expansion of 5 centimetres.

(Women)

a) Height: Must not be less than 152.5 centimeters.

b) Weight: Must not be less than 40 Kgs.

NOTE : Provided that the candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes and


Aboriginal Tribes in the Agency areas of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram,
Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and West Godavari districts should meet the
f ollowing requirements:-

For the Post Code Nos. 11, 12, 1.3 and 16:

(Men)

a) Height: Must not be less than 160 centimeters.


b) Chest: Must not be less than 80 centimetres round the chest on
full inspiration with a minimum expansion of 3 centimetres.

(Women)

a) Height: Must not be less than 150 centimeters.


b) Weight: Must not be less than 38 Kgs.

ii) For the Post Code No. 14:

a) Height: Must not be less than 168 centimeters.


b) Chest: Must not be less than 87 centimetres round the chest on
full inspiration with a minimum expansion of 5 centimetres.

NOTE : Provided that the candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes and

c) Phvsical Efficiencv Test (PET): Candidate who qualifies in the above


Physical Measurement Tests will be required to undergo the following tests and be

qualified as specified below:-

i) (Post Code Nos. 11 .'t4. 75 & 15) : Men & Women Candidates must

qualify in 1600 Meters run (L Mile Run) and one out of remaining two
events as detailed below:

D) Final Written Examination (For the Post Code Nos. 11. 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16:

Candidates who qualify in the above shall be required to appear for the
Final Written Examination in four papers (each of three hours duration) as given
below. The syllabus is gi ven in Annexure III.

Note:
i) The minimum marks to be secured by a candidates in order to qualify in the

written examination in each paper is 40o/o lor @s; 35% for BCs; and 30% for
SCs/STs and Ex. Servicemen.

ii) Papers I and II are only qualifying in nature. The cases of the candidates who

do not secure the minimum qualifying marks in these papers i.e., papers I and II,
will not be considered further in the selection process irrespective of their
performance in papers III & IV. The marks secured in these papers i.e., papers I and

II will not be taken into account for final selection.

iii) Papers I and II referred above will include questions that are subjective and
objective in nature. They have to answer the questions using blue / black pen.

iv) Questions in Papers III and IV will be objective in nature and will be set in

English, Telugu and Urdu languages. Candidates have to answer the questions on
an OMR answer sheet using Blue / Black Ball Point Pen only. For this purpose
candidates should bring Blue / Black Ball Point pens along with them.

E) Final Selection:
i) For Post Code Nos. 11 & L5: The final selection will be strictl yon

relative merit of the candidates in each category, as obtained by them based on their
score in the written examination out of a maximum of 400 marks (papers III and IV)
and as per the provisions of "The Andhra Pradesh Public Employrnent
(Organisation of Local cadres and regulation of direct recruitment) Order,1975". As
per G.O. Ms. No. 124, General Administration (SPF.A) Dept., dated 07-03-2002, wtLlle
filling up the vacancies, the first 30% of posts should be filled following combined

merit list of locals and nonlocals arrd thereafter, the remaining 70"/. of the posts shall
be filled up by locals only.

ii) For Post Code No. 12: The final selection of the candidates (Men &
Women) will be made strictly on relative merit, as per marks obtained by them
based on their score in the final written examination (Paper- III (100 Marks), Paper-

IV (100 Marks), total 200 marks) and Physical Efficiency Test (for 100 marks)
totalling to 300 marks and as per the provisions of "The Andhra Pradesh Public
Employment (Organization of Local Cadres and Regulation of Direct Recruitment)
Order,1975" As per G.O. Ms. No. 124, General Administration (SPF.A) Dept., dated
07-03-2002, wfule filling up the vacancies, the first 30% of posts should be filled
following combined merit list of locals and non-locals and thereafter, the remaining
70% ot the posts shall be filled up by locals only.

iii) For Post Code Nos. 13 (Men): The final selection of thc candidates will
be made strictly on relative merit, as per marks obtained by them based on their
score in the final written examination (PaperJII- 100 Marks, PaperJV -100 Marks,
Total 200 marks) and Physical Efficiency Test (for 100 marks), totaling to 300 marks
and as per the provisions of "The Andhra Pradesh Public Employment
(Organization of Local Cadres and Regulation of Direct Recruitment) Order,1975",
under which the rule of reservation to local candidates is not applicable.

ir) For the Post Code No. 14 (Men) and Post Code No. 15 (Women):
The final selection will be strictly on relative merit of the candidates in each
category, as obtained by them based on their score in the written examination out of
a maximum of 400 marks (papers III and IV) and as per the provisions of "The
Andhra Pradesh Public Employment (Organisation of Local cadres and regulation of
direct recruitment) Order, 1975" , wder which the rule of reservation to local
candidates is not applicable.

NOTE:-
Preference: When two or more candidates in a particular category obtain
equal marks, preference will be given to the candidate who was born earlier

18, Reservation to local candidates (Post Code Nos. 11 & 12): Reservation to local
candidates is applicable as provided in the Rules and as amended from time to time
as in force on the date of notification. The candidates claiming reservation as local
candidates should enclose the required Study certificates (from VII class to X class

(or) from IV class to X class, in case he/she is not studied from VII class to X class in
one particular district). Residence Certificate in the proforma only should be enclosed

for those candidates who have not studied in any Educational Institutions.

Noter The Government of India have issued following Gazette Notification on


09.06.2015 vide No. 404.

G.S.R. 591 (E):- In exercise of the powers conferred by clauses (1) and (2) of
article 371 D of the Constitution, the President hereby makes the following Order
further to amend the Andhra Pradesh Public Employment (Organisation of Local
Carders and Regulation of Direct Recruitment ) Orders, 1975, namely-
1.
(i) This order may be called the Andhra Pradesh Public Employment
(Organisation of Local Cadres and Regulation of Direct Recruitment)
Amendment Order,20L6.
(ii) It shall come into force at once.

2. In the Andhra Pradesh Public Employment (Organisation of Local Cadres and


Regulation of Direct Recruitment) Order, \975, in paragraph 7, after sub-paragraph
(2) and before the Explanatiory the following sub-paragraph shall be inserted,
namely:-

"(3) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-paragtaph (1) or (2),


candidates who migrate to any part of the State of Andfua Pradesh
from the State of Telangana within a period of three years from the 2"d
day of June, 2014 shatl be regarded as the local candidate in the State of
Andhra Pradesh at the place of his residence and be treated at par with
the local candidates residing in that area, in accordance with such
guidelines as may be issued by the Government of Andhra Pradesh for
the purpose of employment."

3. Modalities for the same are given blz the Government of Andhra Pradesh vide
Circular Memo. No. 4136ISPF & MC/2015-5, dt: 08.08.2016. Candidates who are

covered by this order will be required to submit necessary certificate as Per the
instructions given by the Government of Andhra Pradesh at the time of appearing for
Phlusical Measurement Test and Physical Efficienclu Test (Only those candidates who

qualif), for Preliminary Written Test).

Definition of local candidate:


(i) "Local Candidate" means a candidate for direct recruitment to any Post in
relation to that Local area where he/she has studied in Educational Institution(s) for
not less than four consecutive academic years prior to and including the year in
which he/she appeared for SSC or its equivalent examination. If however, he/she
has not studied in any educational institution during the above four years period, it
is enough if he/she has resided in that area which is claimed as his/her local area
during the above said period.

(ii) Incase the candidate does not fall within the scope of the above it will be
considered if he/ she has studied for a period of not less than seven years prior to
and inclusive of the year in which he/she has studied for the maximum period out
of the said period of seven years and where the period of his/her study in two or
more local areas are equal such local area where he/she has studied last (in such
loca1 area) will be taken for determining the local candidature. Similarly, if he/she
has not studied during the above said period in any Educational Institution(s) the
place of residence during the above period will be taken into consideration and local
candidature determined with the reference to the maximum period of residence ot in
the case of equal period where he/she has resided last.

(iii) If the claim for local candidature is based on study, the candidate is required to
produce a certificate from the Educational Institution (s) where he /she has studied
during the said 4 years period i.e., from VII class to X class (or) 7 years period i.e.,
from IV class to X class, in case he/she is not studied from VII class to X class in one
particular district in Annexure-lV (A). If, however, it is based on residence, a
certificate should be submitted as prescribed in Annexure-IV (B) obtained from an
officer of the Revenue Department not below the rank of a Mandal Revenue Officer
in independent charge of a Mandal.

(iv) If, however, a candidate has resided in more than one Mandal during the
relevant four/seven years period but within the same District separate certificates
from the Mandal Revenue Officers exercising jurisdiction has to be obtained in
respect of different areas.
