1 Charging the nodes
Before the field deployment, charging the nodes on the rack. The LED on the left side
indicates the battery charging status and the LED on the right side indicates the data
harvesting status. Please refer to the Hardware Introduction Rack part for detail
information. And these status are simultaneously showed in the Harvester software.

2 Node recording parameters setup

Create project, input the information as below.

Insert the nodes into the rack. Click the Setup button on the left side of Ant Manager
to enter the Setup interface. Choose the Recording parameters and set it as default.
Back to harvester interface and click Setup Parameters button to send the parameters
to the nodes on the rack. The harvesting indicator for each slot must be fully harvested
or change to Configure mode. It is recommended to clear the memory of the nodes for
new project by choosing the nodes with CTRL+A, right click and select Clear Data.

Note: If Ant Manager and Ant Harvester is disconnected, setup Parameters button will
be unavailable, please choose the parameter and set to default again.

Setup parameters:
Step 1 : Select the parameter in Setup interface and set to default.
Step 2 : Click on the Set Parameters in the upper right corner.
Step 3 : Popup parameter information, click Setup after confirming. The background
of each slot will be changed as long as the parameters is received by the node.

Note: Before send the nodes to the field, make sure the batteries are fully charged and
the recording parameters are right setup.

3 Deployment List Preparation
There are two ways to generate APP deployment list, referring to Ant Deploy and
APP.
I. For active source projects get the SPS files and import them to the Ant Manager
by right click in the tab of receiver info and select import SPS.
II. For passive source project, the receivers and sources could be created with the
APP if there is no SPS provided.

4 Field Deployment
I. Nodes turned on and off : The node will be turned on if it is changed to vertical
and tilt is less than 30°, it will go to sleep if make it upside down 10 seconds.

Notes:
✓ After the node is turned on, it will search for the satellites and do the self-test
which will take about 1.5 minutes.
✓ It is recommended to bury the nodes and only leave the top enclosure outside to
reduce the wind noise.
II. Scan the nodes with APP : Open the APP , choose correct line and
point number, click scan code, scan the QR code above the node to bind the SN
number with the line and point number and also check node status. Click save result
after confirmed.
III. Match auto: If the SPS with accurate longitude and latitude is imported, turn on
this function and go through the lines to bind the device SN with the line and point
number.

5 Retrieve nodes
Put the nodes upside down to make it goto sleep mode for retrieval.

Note: The search device function of the app in settings interface could be used to
search the nodes within a range of 30-50 meters by Bluetooth. It is reco-
mmended to chose search specified device function and turn on the alarm.

6 Data harvesting
There are three harvesting modes optional to download the data in the nodes:
✓ Normal mode: Harvest only the data for recent prospect.
✓ Down load all: Harvest all the data in the nodes.
✓ Configure mode: No data need to be harvested.

9

Make sure the two indicators on the slot are both blue and insert the nodes into the
slot. It will start charging and harvesting automatically.

After the data is completely harvested, the Harvester for this slot will show as tick.

6.1 Deployment File upload

I. Confirm that the server’s network is connected to the same router of WiFi as the
phone or tablet. Find the IP address as the picture shows below.

10
GE-ANT-1C Workflow

II. Click on the Network icon on the left side of Ant Manager to enter the settings
interface. Click the drop-down arrow on the right side of the Deploy Address option,
select the IPv4 address and click Confirm to restart the software.

11
GE-ANT-1C Workflow

III. After confirming that the server and the deployed phone or tablet are connected
to the same LAN. Set the address in the APP to the IPv4 address of the server.

Click OK, then click Update Data, merge data, and prompt for successful data update.

12
GE-ANT-1C Workflow

And the Ant Manager software will automatically popup the Import SPS interface. If
it is the first time to import, directly click OK to import SPS and deploy files.

Change the option Add new Only or Delete All data if required before import the
data.

13
GE-ANT-1C Workflow

IV. The SPS, shot time and deployment data will be uploaded at the same time.
Click Work→Shot list and Deployed list in Ant Manager to view the imported shot
and deployment data. Click Report to view the detailed data of the imported R and S
files.

14
GE-ANT-1C Workflow

V. Additionally, the SPS and deployment files could be saved to the phone or tablet
locally in the settings interface of the App, and then transfer them to the server (com
-puter) to manually import SPS and deployment files.

7 Data Generating
7.1 Generate receiver gather or continuous receiver gather
I. Before generating the data, press update in the Ant Harvester to check whether all
the data are harvested. Press position tab and deployed list tab, check the data
available.

16
GE-ANT-1C Workflow

II. Check if the parameters of the nodes especially the sample rate in position tab.
The recording parameters must be consistent with the parameters in the software
before processing data.

III. Create a new job, open the <Setup> , <Jobs> interface, fill in the job name,
select parameters, and click <Add> to add the job after completion.

IV. Manually import deployment files (skip this step if they were already imported),
enter the Work Deployed List interface, right-click and select Import Deployment
17
GE-ANT-1C Workflow
Data, select the deployment file, click open and import, and then check if the
imported deployment data is correct, mainly checking if the line and point number in
the Line, Point, and R files correspond.

Select the lines in deployed list table and click confirm.

18
GE-ANT-1C Workflow

After confirmed, the Status will be changed from OK to Confirm.

In Deployed list, it is necessary to carefully confirm whether the relationship between

source and receiver is correct, whether the deployment start time to end time of the
deployment node is correct, if confirmation is not successful, please check whether
the same line number and point number are bound to different nodes or there is no
data.

V. Confirm that the sampling rate of the node is consistent with the sampling rate of
the Job that needs to be assigned, then assign the job created in the previous step by
right-click.

19
GE-ANT-1C Workflow

Job changed from empty to the assigned job name.

Finally, right-click Generate Sliced Date, select the work area and project and start
