member of Group Harwal. Cosmoplast has been at the forefront of the plastic
pipeline industry in the gulf region. Through constant growth and product

1 Scope

Becetel vzw was requested to perform the initial type testing for the Cosmoplast PE-X pipes,
group 1, produced with a new raw material (Padanaplast grade Polidan T/A-SP + Padanaplast
Catalyst PS4), according to the DVGW specification W 544 (May 2007).

2 Received test material

The following PE-Xb pipes were delivered by COSMOPLAST Industrial Co. LLC at Becetel
vzw on 23 June and 16 July 2021.

inspection (sampling no. 21/031 and 21/032).

4.1 General

The PE-X pipes are produced according to DIN 16892/16893, pipe series 3,2 and SDR7,4.

4.2 Marking

Pipe marking, see paragraph 2, is according to DIN 16892. The DVGW mark with registration
number and the allowable pressure and temperature, as required by DVGW W 544, is not yet
part of the pipe marking, as the DVGW registration number was not issued yet.

9 Summary of test results

The Cosmoplast PE-Xb pipes ø16x2,2 mm, produced with Padanaplast grade Polidan T/A-SP
and Padanaplast Catalyst PS4, conform to the requirements of DVGW specification W 544
(May 2007), except for:
- the marking, where the DVGW registration number was not present (as this registration
number was not granted yet).
- the thermal stability test by hydrostatic pressure, which is ongoing for 4.800 h and will be
continued until ≥ 8.760 h.

This may be abbreviated to ‘Water Regulations Advisory Scheme - Approved Material’ or ‘WRAS Approved Material’.

The scope of an Approval does not extend to rebranded materials unless otherwise agreed by the Scheme.

Use of the WRAS Approved Material Logo

Approval holders may use the WRAS Approved Material logo and make reference to any approval issued by WRAS Ltd. in
respect of a particular material or range of materials provided the approval is, and remains valid.

Approval holders are entitled to use the logo on the packing, promotional literature and point of sale advertising Approved
Materials.

Modifications to existing Approvals

It is a condition of WRAS Material Approval that NO changes or modifications to the Approved Material, be made without the
Approval Holder first notifying WRAS Ltd. Full details of the proposed changes must be provided to the Scheme. Failure to
comply with this condition will immediately invalidate a previously granted Approval.

Re-Approval

WRAS will write to you 1 year before the approval expires asking whether you would like to renew it. Please complete the
relevant section of the MA3 application form which will be included with the letter and return to WRAS (via e-mail or post).

Please note it is the responsibility of the Approval Holder to ensure the Approval remains valid. WRAS Ltd. accepts no liability for
the delay in granting approval where this is caused by circumstances outside of the Scheme’s control.

pressure pipes and fittings for water supply and A/C drain. Plumbing accessories such as pipe clamps, polyethylene
compression fittings, solvent cements, lubricants and adhesives compliment this product range.
The expertise in manufacturing Plastic Piping systems in the Gulf region for more than four
decades has further helped Cosmoplast to develop and deliver products with special consideration
of exclusive needs of the Gulf region. One such need is to provide the user with cross-linked poly-
ethylene pipes for long term applications in extreme levels of cold and hot fluid transmission.

Becetel vzw was requested by COSMOPLAST Industrial Co. LLC to perform type testing for
the Cosmoplast PE-Xb pipes 016x2,2 mm and 020x2,8 mm, size range belonging to group 1,
according to the DVGW specification W 544 (May 2007).

The following PE-Xb pipes were delivered by COSMOPLAST Industrial Co. LLC at Becetel

The PE-X pipes are produced according to DIN 16892/16893, pipe series 3,2 and SDR7,4.

4.2 Marking

Pipe marking, see paragraph 2, is according to DIN 16892. The DVGW mark with registration
number and the allowable pressure and temperature, as required by DVGW W 544, is not yet
part of the pipe marking, as the DVGW registration number was not issued yet.
