normal teaching duties.
Coaching and mentoring duties of Master Teachers are considered as ancillary task.
B. Teacher Ancillary Tasks

Ancillary Tasks must be performed within the 2 HOURS that
complete their 8-Hour Workday
Additional Compensation
ONLY Conferences with Parents and Home Visitation (ALL
TEACHERS) and Coaching/Mentoring (for Master Teachers only)
performed outside the regular work hours shall be compensated
through VSC.
• Why is it that only conferences with parents and home visitation and
coaching/mentoring duties of master teachers are compensated?
These tasks cannot be performed during class hours; and DepEd is firm in abiding with the policy
on no disruption of classes. Also, this is in consideration of the availability of parents/guardians.
For MT, coaching/mentoring is an additional ancillary task on top of the other ancillary tasks
needed to be performed within the 2 hrs.
