We are still awaiting a response from the council regarding Community Chest funding. We were hoping for a response by the Nechells Ward meeting, but it was cancelled. Ted Ryan offered to help us chase the outcome through Councillor Yvonne Mosquito. ii. An application was submitted to the Reclaim Our Streets fund and DRA was awarded 700! This is fantastic news, but unfortunately we cannot yet publicise the news as we are waiting on a logo from Birmingham and Black Country Community Foundation. 3b. Viaduct Project Website Jayne Bradley has purchased a name (digbethviaduct.co.uk) and is setting up the site for the viaduct project. Once this is complete, interested people will be given logins so they are able to share information with DRA and each other more regularly. Russell Poulton has researched land ownership of the viaduct and will pass this information on. The Digbeth Trust can suggest individuals who would be able to prepare a feasibility study for the project. 3c. Digbeth Summit A date has been set for the Digbeth Summit: 16th February 2012. The event will take place in the evening in Digbeth. Further details will be communicated online and by email. It was decided that due to the size and importance of this event, the next DRA meeting in January will be an Executive Meeting (as opposed to a public one) to organise the summit. 4. Birmingham City Council Development Q&A Russell Poulton and Louise Russell from Birmingham City Council gave a short presentation about the proposed City Centre Enterprise Zone, which will include large parts of Digbeth, and took questions from those at the meeting. Further information and developments about the Enterprise Zone will be made available on the mydigbeth.co.uk website.
5. Police Report and Neighbourhood Watch News Although the Police were unable to attend this meeting, they did forward a report: There were 20 crimes recorded in Digbeth in the past month the majority of these were vehicle crime offences. A map of where these crimes took place was available at the meeting. West Midlands Police has donated six Neighbourhood Watch street signs, and 24 highquality bicycle D locks to DRA. The D locks can be bought for only 10 (RRP c35) from Pam, with all funds raised for Digbeth Residents Association Neighbourhood Watch. Pam is seeking approval from the council for putting up the signs. The Police licensing team has been made aware of the taxi parking problem at the Rainbow reported at previous DRA meetings. Birmingham City Council is investigating employing Taxi Marshalls on Digbeth High Street for 2012. Nicky reported that vandals are scratching tags into the glass windows of shops in the Custard Factory. This will be passed onto the Police and Anti Graffiti team at the council. 6.
