D. Lesson Proper

So, today we're going to dive into

something really important in music:
Flat notes.

Now, you're probably heard the term

"Flat" before, and today we're going
to explore what that really means in (student actively listen )
playing and reading music but first let
me state the objective so at the end
of this lesson the student will able to;
Define the flat notes,reflect the
purpose of flat in music and illustrate
the types of flats.

E. Discussion

So first, what is a flat note?

(student actively listen)
Flat notes are notes that have a key
signature at the beginning of the
piece of music indicating that the note
is lowered, or if there is a flat sign
before or above a given note.
So class this is the symbol of flat sign
in music.

Flat note

A flat note is a special kind of note

that makes the sound lower when you
see a flat it lowers the pitch of a note
by a semitone.
Do you understand class?
Yes ma’am
A semitone is the smallest musical
interval used in Western music,
representing the distance between
two adjacent notes on a piano or in a
musical scale. It is also known as a
half step.

This is the picture of semitone class

In terms of pitch, a semitone is the
smallest change you can make
between two notes If a note is raised
or lowered by a semitone, it will
sound slightly higher or lower. This is
what happens when you see sharp or
flat signs in music they change the
pitch of a note by a semitone.

But how do we recognize a flat note

in sheet music?

Well, the sign for a flat note looks like

a small lowercase 'b'. You’ll often see
this flat sign either at the beginning of
the piece, in the key signature, or
sometimes it might appear right next
to a note during the music. We call
those "accidentals".

When you see that 'b' symbol next to

a note, it means you play that note at
a lower pitch.

For example, if you’re playing a B and

you see a flat sign, you don’t play a
regular B anymore, you play what’s
called B flat. And that B flat is just a
semitone, or half-step, lower than the
original B.

A flat always makes the note sound a

little lower. It’s a small symbol, but it
changes the sound in an important You should play the note lower than
way. the usual.

F. Generalization

So again, a flat note makes the pitch

sound slightly lower, and the flat sign
is a small but significant mark that None, teacher.
indicates this pitch adjustment.

To recognize a flat note in sheet

music, look for the flat symbol, which
resembles a small lowercase 'b'.

This symbol can appear in the key

signature at the beginning of a piece
or next to a specific note as an
accidental.

When you see this symbol, it

means???

For instance, a B note with a flat sign

becomes B flat, lowering its pitch by
one semitone.

Alright! Now, do you have any further

questions and clarifications?

"Alright everyone, to make sure

you've understand our lesson for
today, we’re going to move on to an
activity.

IV. Evaluation
Listen to some musical examples provided by the teacher. Identify where the flat
notes are.

V. Assignment
