There are several types of computers: 1. Supercomputers are the most powerful computers used for tasks like weather forecasting, space exploration, and military applications. 2. Mainframe computers are less powerful than supercomputers but are still very fast and capable of processing large amounts of data for organizations. They are used for tasks like bank transactions and census data. 3. Server computers, also called mini computers, are used as central computers in a network to handle multiple requests for data and processing tasks from other connected computers.

Supercomputer
Supercomputers are the fastest computers in the
world. They have very high processing capacity, speed
of calculation and are able to perform multiple tasks
Use of Supercomputers
1.U.S. government agencies such as NASA(National Aeronautics and Space
Administration)use Supercomputer for weather forecasting,space
exploration,earth simulator(animated graphics).
2.Universities such as MIT (Masachusetts Institute of Technology and
Harvard have their own supercomputers to process information and to
assist in solving mathematical calculations.
3.For nuclear research and development
4. Petroleum exploration
5.Military applications are very elaborate. From organizing war games to
studying the effects of nuclear detonations on a large scale, many militaries
across the planet use supercomputers
Mainframe Computers
Are used by large corporations and organizations for bulk data processing
such as bank transactions,consumer statistics and large databases. They
are less powerful than the supercomputers but are still capable of great
processing speeds, multi-tasking capability and high data storage.
