DELTA 2 (AMS - PSC 1000)
It’s forbidden to put any load at battery bar (As the below case). This problem leads to
defect all site batteries as batteries will deep discharge during any power cut.

If we discover any load at a battery bar at any rectifier, you must know what is this load
and arrange AP to relocate it at load bar.

To get Ibat max., go to Main Menu, 5. Usys, then 3.

Ibatt max.

Ibatt max. is adjusted according to site power source

(EC or DG), site type (EP, VIP, Nodal…), No. of
modules.

To get Temperature Coefficient, go to Main Menu,

6. Temp. Comp, then 1. Tcoef Usys.

After modifying anything at the PSC 1000, you

must save the data. Go to Main Menu, 3. General
then, 5. Current Par Save.
DELTA 1, DELTA 2, ASCOM (PSC 1000)

Before starting the BDT, you must check on

batteries charging current.

From the Display Menu, Press down arrow till

number 4. Ibatt is the battery current.

Make sure that batteries are fully charged (Ibatt =

0A) before the test.

If Ibatt with a value higher than 1 A, we can’t

proceed starting the BDT till batteries fully charged.

To get Alarm menu, from the home screen, press up arrow, Alarms will be appeared.

The most common Alarms at the PSC 1000: UA: Urgent Alarm, NUA: Non Urgent Alarm.

1. UA RM Failure: Faulty Rectifier module. Will cleared once remove or replace the faulty
module.

2. NUA Tbatt high/low: Batteries temperature exceeds the adjusted level. To clear it, press
down arrow then Tbatt. The normal settings at the rectifiers is that high temp alarm will
activated at the rectifier screen when Tbatt is higher than 28° and cleared when Tbatt is
lower than 25°. We should check the A/C and the cooling system.

3. UA Alarm 1: means that rectifier surge arrestor has a problem at the slots or at the surge
base.

4. UA Load Fuse or Batt Fuse: One of load or Batt C.Bs trip off. Will clear once trip on
the C.Bs. Must check charging current settings.

5. UA HW Failure: Hardware failure, appears when temp sensor is faulty. Press down
arrow then Tbatt, if Tbatt is appeared ***, you should check temp sensor connections.

To adjust the number of rectifier modules to be at the rectifier settings, Go to 8. Rectifier

Function, 8.1 Configuration, 8.1.2 Setup, 1 RM Number, Number

The PSC 3 save its data automatically so we don’t have to save it.

Before starting the BDT, you must check on

batteries charging current.

From the Main Menu, 1.DC-SYS Status

then 1.1 Overview then Ibatt Ibatt is the

Make sure that batteries are fully charged

(Ibatt = 0A) before the test.

If Ibatt with a value higher than 1 A, we

can’t proceed starting the BDT till batteries
fully charged.

To get Alarm menu, from the home screen, press enter, then down arrow till 3. Alarms
then Alarm list be appeared.

The most common Alarms at the PSC 3: URG: Urgent Alarm, NURG: Non Urgent Alarm.

1. URG RFA: Faulty Rectifier module. Will cleared once replace the faulty module or
adjust the rectifier settings.

2. NURG Tbatt high/low: Batteries temperature exceeds the adjusted level. Go to Main
Menu then 1. DC-SYS status then temp or Tbatt. The normal settings at the rectifiers is
that high temp alarm will activated at the rectifier screen when Tbatt is higher than 28°
and cleared when Tbatt is lower than 25°. We should check the A/C and the cooling
system.

3. URG VDR True: means that rectifier surge arrestor has a problem at the slots or at the
surge base.

4. URG Load Fuse or Batt Fuse: One of load or Batt C.Bs trip off. Will clear once trip on
the C.Bs. Must check charging current settings.

5. URG HW Failure: Hardware failure, appears when temp sensor is faulty. Go to Main
Menu then 1. DC-SYS status then temp or Tbatt. If Tbatt is appeared as ***, you should
check temp sensor connections. If the problem still exist, Tbatt Sensor needs to be
replaced.

EMERSON
EMERSON (CONT.)
EMERSON (CONT.)
EMERSON (CONT.)
The most common problem at Emerson rectifiers is to connect the load at battery bar. If
you found any problem like this you must call me on time. The solution is to remove any 6 A
C.B and put the IPASO C.B instead of it.
NSN
NSN
- During any replacement of power modules, you must make sure that the b/m item is removed
from the output port of the rectifier module and from module input at the housing .
NSN
- During any intervention at any site have NSN rectifier, you must maintain best model of NSN
installation as in the next photos as all rectifier covers must be covered well with its screws.
NSN
- During any intervention at any site have NSN rectifier, you must maintain best model of NSN
installation as in the next photos as all rectifier exits must be closed.
NSN
- During any intervention at any site have NSN rectifier, you must make sure that NSN A/C
Control board is working normally and temperature at the software is good and within range (16
to 25) if not at the range, you must check the A/C and control board.
NSN
-You must check battery current and battery temperature – Battery Temp must be within range
from17 to 26.
- You must make sure, that all modules have the same current and no modules have 0 A.
- You must make sure that the CU and all modules doesn’t have any alarm and all green.
NSN
Before starting the BDT, you must check on batteries charging current. From the software, Bat.
Current at the CU must be 0 before the test starting.

If Bat. Current with a value higher than 1 A, we can’t proceed starting the BDT till batteries
fully charged.
NSN (CONT.)
- You must check the rectifier module configuration and make sure that it’s configured as the
below capture.
NSN (CONT.)
- You must check the CU configuration and make sure that it’s configured as the below capture.

- You must check the Battery Related Parameter and make sure that it’s configured as the below
capture.
NSN (CONT.)
- You must check the System Related Parameter and make sure that it’s configured as the below
capture. Charging current limit is adjusted to be 30 A per string.

- After changing the PDA, You must make firmware upgrade and make sure that the current
version is R3D. If you changed two PDAs, you must make firmware upgrade at each PDA. From
Maintenance, Firmware Upgrade, Current Version.
