Introduction to Rooftop Solar Panel System

 Rooftop solar panel systems are an innovative and sustainable solution for harnessing
solar energy to power homes and businesses.
 These systems consist of photovoltaic (PV) panels installed on the rooftops of
buildings, converting sunlight into electricity.

Function Of Each Block
Solar PV Array
A solar array generate electricity from the sun’s rays . The number of
solar panels required in a PV array depends on the the installation
location, and the electricity consumption rate. In this panels are
connected in series parallel combination . Connections depends on the
voltage and current levels supported by the inverter and battery.
DC Distribution Box
DCDB includes various protective devices such as fuses, circuit
breakers, surge protection devices, and isolators. These devices
are essential to ensure the safety of the solar system by
preventing overcurrent, overvoltage, and short-circuits that can
damage the panels or other components.
Grid Tie Inverter
A grid-tie inverter converts the DC electricity generated by solar
panels into AC electricity for use in homes and the grid. It
synchronizes with the grid, optimizes energy output through
MPPT(maximum power point tracking), and facilitates net metering,
allowing homeowners to sell excess energy back to the grid.
AC Distribution Box
In a rooftop solar system, an AC Distribution Box (ACDB) functions
as the central hub for managing and distributing the alternating
current (AC) power generated by the solar inverter, directing it to
the building’s electrical grid while providing necessary protection
against surges, overloads, and short circuits through components
like circuit breakers and surge protection devices (SPDs).
Export Meter
The function of an export meter in a rooftop solar system is to
measure how much energy is exported to the grid that is not used in
the home or business. The export meter provides precise
measurements of the electricity exported, which is used to calculate
the tariff paid to the customer.
Then the excess power is supplied to the grid.

Future scope for roof top solar panel
installation
A. Environmental Benefits:
 Reducing carbon emissions
 Promoting sustainability
B. Economic Advantages:
 Lower electricity bills
C. Government Incentives
D. Increasing Accessibility
E. Lower costs
Conclusion
Rooftop solar panel installation is a
significant investment that can offer
substantial benefits in both the short
and long term. It can help you save
money on your electricity bills. By
generating your own electricity, you
will use less electricity from the
mains electricity grid, which can
lower your energy bills. Second, a
solar rooftop on-grid system is a
sustainable and environmentally
friendly way of generating electricity.
