The cold days continue.
I fell ill and spent two whole days bedridden. On January 17, unable to sleep, I greeted the morning at 5:46:52. It was a quiet morning.
The day after the earthquake, in the bitter cold, I stood by the roadside with every kettle and pot from our house. I remember how so many people stood there, without a single complaint, appearing calm as if simply grateful to be alive.
In the evening, we received water from a supply truck and somehow managed to get by with my family in a house scattered with debris. At the time, we had no way of knowing that the area from Higashi-nada to Suma was a scene of utter chaos, like something out of hell.
Even now, the people in Ishikawa are facing hardships. Around the world, countless disasters continue to strike.
Isn’t it time to stop fighting each other and join hands to build a better tomorrow?
