Aim: Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is a widespread disease which leads to various degrees of disability and profound impact on overall life quality of the patient with regard to social, economic, psychological and sexual aspects. It may be assumed that RA can affect sexual function. The aim of this study was to evaluate the sexual function in female subjects with RA. Methods: A total of 186 married women (age range 30-60 years) were included in this study. Of the total participants, 104 were RA patients and 82 were healthy women. Hospital anxiety and depression scale (HADS), Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ) and Disease Activity Score (DAS) were used to evaluate the differences between the controls and patient group. Sexual functions were evaluated using the validated Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI). Results: The mean age of the RA patients and controls was 46.71 ± 7.65 and 43.98 ± 7.97, respectively. According to the total sexual function score evaluation, 97 out of 104 women with RA (93.7 %) and in 53 out of 82 women in control group (64.6 %) were regarded as having sexual dysfunction (SD). There was significant difference between these two subgroups with regard to only depression factor. Conclusion: Current results have demonstrated that patients with RA have had a higher sexual dysfunction rate, when compared with the control group. SD may be related to perceived depression, which are frequently encountered conditions in patients with RA.

Aim: To compare the tibia and radius bone mineral density (BMD) and speed of sound (SOS) measures of type 1 DM patients and healthy controls by using Quantitative ultrasonography (QUS) (Sunlight Omnisense 7000S/8000S). Patients and Methods: 40 type 1 DM (17 men, 23 women) and 26 healthy controls (20 women, 6 men),ranging in age from 30 to 50 years, were included in the study. Tibia and radius BMD of all the participants were measured by QUS. Weight and height were noted and BMI (body mass index) were calculated. DM duration, fracture story, nutrition habit and exercise story were also evaluated. Results: Mean age of type 1 DM group and control group were 36.8±5; 40.19±6.31 years respectively. Mean disease duration of type 1 DM group was: 12.4±6.63 years. Tibia T scores of type 1 DM group and control group were: 0.1±1.01; -0.4±1.37 (p=0.089) and radius T scores were -0.12±0.05; 0.05±1.17 (p=0.518) respectively. Tibia SOS values of type 1 DM group and control group were 3977.2±122.06; 3758.46±777.02 (p=0.084) and radius SOS values were 4124.7±110.23; 4163.31±119.98 (p=0.184) respectively. Conclusion: There was no significant difference between type 1 DM patients and healthy group's tibia and radius T scores and SOS values. Ostepenia was not detected in both groups. PURPOSE: Obesity prevalence and the relationship between obesity and motor function in children with ambulatory cerebral palsy (CP) were investigated. METHODS: This was a cross-sectional study. The obesity profile of 75 children aged 2–18 years with ambulatory CP was investigated. GMFCS levels were recorded, and BMI was calculated using height and weight data and converted into Z-scores. Age- and gender-specific growth charts were used for children and adolescents. RESULTS: The mean BMI of the participants was 17.78, with an obesity rate of 18.67% and an overweight rate of 16%. Gross motor function was found to be associated with height, weight, and BMI (p < 0.05). No relationship was found between obesity + overweight and gender and CP subtype (p > 0.05). CONCLUSION: Turkish children with CP had a higher rate of obesity compared to typically developing peers and also their counterparts in other countries. There is a need for studies to identify the causes of obesity and to develop effective intervention programs for prevention of it in children with CP.

OBJECTIVE In this study the effect of the add-on effect of the tree pose (vrksasana), on the balance of patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis was investigated. DESIGN Thirty-two patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis were randomly assigned to conservative exercise group (EXE, 30-minutes/day 12-week) or tree pose added exercise group (EXE+YOGA, 30-minutes conventional exercise + 2-minutes tree pose/day 12-week) by Microsoft Excel randomization option. The balance of the patients were evaluated with berg balance scale, timed up&go test, single leg standing test, tandem walk test, tandem stance test, korebalance static&dynamic balance tests baseline, 6th week and at 3rd month of the exercise program. RESULTS There was no statistically significant difference on baseline data between groups. There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups in the 6th week measurement of single leg stance (p<.05). In the berg balance scale, static balance test, dynamic balance test and tandem walk tests, a statistically significant difference was found among baseline, 6th week and 12th week measurements in both the EXE group and the EXE+YOGA group. CONCLUSION Gains in the static&dynamic balance of postmenopausal osteoporotic patients can be obtained by adding "vrksasana" to conventional exercises.

Objective: This study aims to determine the frequency of central post-stroke pain (CPSP) in a patient population with stroke as well as investigating the relationship between CPSP and patients' clinical/demographic characteristics, pain intensity, functional status, and quality of life. Methods: The study included 150 patients, who had a stroke and were aged 18 years and above. Demographic data of the patients, time since onset, and etiology, localization of the cerebral lesion, affected side, ambulation status, and Brunnstrom stages were recorded. Douleur neuropathique 4 questions (DN4) were used to assess the presence of CPSP. Visual Analog Scale (VAS) was used for pain intensity, functional ambulation scale (FAS) was used for ambulation status, Barthel Index (BI) was used for functional status, and the stroke impact scale (SIS) was used for quality of life. Results: The mean age of the patients was 67±11.5 years, 54.7% was male, and 45.3% was female. CPSP was evaluated in 15....
