    Penelitian mengenai persentase tutupan substrat pada perairan terumbu karang ini dilakukan di Pulau Lirang Kabupaten Maluku Barat Daya. Penelitian yang dilakukan di perairan Pulau Lirang bertujuan untuk mengetahui persentase tutupan substrat di perairan tersebut. Pengumpulan data dilakukan bulan April 2016 pada enam lokasi dengan transek sepanjang 100 meter. Data dihimpun dengan menggunakan metode Point Intersept Transect (PIT) menggunakan peralatan SCUBA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rerata tutupan karang hidup di Pulau Lirang, Maluku Barat Daya adalah 33,75%, dengan tutupan tertinggi pada stasiun VI (54%). Kematian karang yang mencapai 48% di stasiun V diduga disebabkan oleh persaingan dengan soft coral atau biota bentik lainnya, arus dan sedimentasi.     Penting adanya informasi dasar tentang gurita dari perairan Indonesia untuk memperbesar pengelolahan dan pelestarian potensi laut Indonesia. Secara historis dibeberapa negara telah mengalami penurunan hasil tangkap gurita dalam beberapa tahun. Tujuan dari diadakannya penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat morfometri pada gurita vulgaris (Octopus vulgaris) dari Perairan Desa Popisi, Pulau Banggai Laut, Sulawesi Tengah dengan parameter panjang mantel, panjang lengan, berat, dan jenis kelamin. Sampel ditangkap oleh nelayan dengan alat pancing sederhana pada kedalaman 10-30 m dari perairan Banggai Laut. Gurita dibagi kedalam 4 kategori berdasarkan berat yang digunakan pengepul, yaitu kategori A, B, C, D.     Proximate content in fish varies depends on intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Intrinsic factors include species, sexual maturity, size and body parts. Extrinsic factors include habitat, season and type of food (diet). This study aimed to know the effect of fish body parts (intrinsic factor) on proximate levels in wild and cultured eel (extrinsic). The experimental design used factorial completely randomized design with two factors 2x3. The first factor is the habitat of eel (wild and cultured) and the second factor is the part of the body (head, body and tail) with five replications. The result of statistical analysis showed that there was interaction between fish habitat and body part on moisture, protein, ash and carbohydrate content (P 0.05). The highest water content (67.02%) was found in head of wild and the lowest one (59.44%) in the tail of wild eel; The highest protein content (18.09%) was found in the body of cultured eel and the lowest one (15.72%) was in the body of wild eel; The highest ash content (3.73%) was the head of wild eel and the lowest (1.32%) was in the body of cultured eel; The highest carbohydrate (3.73%) was found in the head of cultured eel and the lowest one (0.16%) was in the body of cultured. The wild eel had higher fat content and energy than cultured one, while the fat content and energy in body and tail were higher than in head.

    ABSTRAK : Mangrove merupakan salah satu ekosistem pada muara sungai di pesisir kota Semarang yang memiliki peran sebagai tempat mencari makan, pemijahan, pembesaran dan bersarang organisme perairan termasuk larva ikan.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas larva ikan yang meliputi keseragaman, keanekaragaman, dan dominansi larva ikan serta kelimpahan dan komposisinya pada muara sungai di pesisir kota Semarang yaitu Mangkang wetan, Trimulyo, Maron, dan Mangunharjo. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan menggunakan Neuston Net dengan ukuran mata jaring 500 µm dan ditarik kapal secara horizontal sepanjang 50 meter selama ± 2 menit. Parameter lingkungan yang diukur antara lain suhu, salinitas, kecerahan, kedalaman dan pH.     The objective of this study is to find out whether there is a significant difference on students’ achievement taught by using PAVE strategy and who were not. The writer use one of the quasi experimental designs, that is pretest posttest nonequivalent control group design to conduct this research. The population was all the third grade students of SD Negeri 182 Palembang in academic year 2012/2013 with total number 100 students. The sample of the study was 60 students taken by using convenience method. The writer used a test to collect the data. The writer used independent sample t-test to analyze the data. The result of the study showed that there was a significant difference on students’ vocabulary achievement taught PAVE strategy and those who were not. The value of t-obtained was 3.714. Semua potensi tersebut berpeluang untuk dapat meningkatkan aktifitas pembangunan sosial ekonomi, membuka lapangan pekerjaan sekaligus meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat.     Rumput laut Gracilaria gigas dapat dikembangkan melalui cara generatif dengan cara menumbuhkan spora hingga menjadi thalus dengan teknik setting spora. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mencari media yang tepat untuk tumbuhnya spora hingga menjadi thallus muda. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap dengan perlakuan media tempat melekatnya spora hingga menjadi thallus muda adalah tali rafia, tali nilon, tali ijuk dan tali kapas. Hasil yang didapat menunjukan bahwa media yang paling banyak ditumbuhi oleh thalus muda adalah media dati tali rafia dengan kepadatan pertumbuhan 84 ind/cm2 sedangkan yang paling sedikit adalah media dari tali kapas dengan kepadatan pertumbuhan 24 ind/cm2.     This research aims to discover total extract level from leaf and propagule of mangrove Rhizophora mucronata, Baume relationship and extract level from leaf and propagule of mangrove, the result of color extract for fabric cotton, phytochemical screening of active compounds contained in mangroves and dye application by fractionation method using column chromatography. The methods employed in this study by means of Baume scale, gravimetric analysis of extract contents, phytochemical screening, and column gravity chromatography separated color of the pigment. The results showed that the higher the level of extract, the greater the mass of the species and the higher the level of extract, the color will be darker. During the soxhlet extraction process, water contents of the material were at 60% for fresh leaves, 18% for dehydrated leaves, 16% for mangrove fruit propagule, and 14% for mangrove branch propagule.     Histological examination of gonad of female redbelly yellowtail fusilier Caesio cuning was carried out in order to describe the oocyte development and annual changes of ovarian composition. The oocyte development was devided into seven stages: peri-nucleolus (PN), oil-droplet (OD), primary yolk (PY), secondary yolk (SY), tertiary yolk (TY), migratory (M) and maturation (Mt) stages. The histological examination of ovarian composition showed that the fish had three peak spawning seasons: in June-July, October-November and February-March. Various kind of developing oocytes found in the same ovaries suggested multiple spawner and asynchronous type of ovarian dynamic.

    Breaking down the polysaccharide of sodium alginate powder to enhance the bioactivity has been done by several methods. This study was aimed to enhance the physiological properties by drying up the sodium alginate paste with cool dry, oven dry, low and high intensity of microwave irradiation. Cool dry technique was done in refrigerated laboratory at 4°C for 24 hr. The drying technique was done in oven laboratory at 60°C for 24 hr. The microwave was set up at minimum intensity (2 Ghz, 450 watt, 13 mins) and maximum intensity (4 Ghz, 450 watt, 5 mins) for the low and high microwave irradiation. The assessment of molecular weight, UV-visible and FT-IR spectroscopic studies were applied. The UV-visible spectroscopic studies pointed that there was a new absorption band around 260-270 nm in all treatments.     Contamination of Copper in Mugil dussumeri (Actinopterygii: Mugilidae, Forsskål, 1775) which was caught in Semarang waters, Indonesia The marine environment in Semarang waters are highly polluted by heavy metals such as copper (Cu).  On the other side, these areas have become producers of fishery commodities such as mullet fish Mugil dussumieri. The aims of this study was to determine the heavy metal content of Cu in mullet fish during wet monsoon (December 2017 and February 2018). Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer were used to analysis of Cu concentration in marine water and fish meat.  The results show that the Cu content in marine water was not detected while in the meat of mullet fish during December 2017 and February 2018 were 0.66 ± 0.07 mg/kg and 0,604 ± 0.217 mg/kg, respectively.     Pelepasan spora dari Gracilaria dapat dipengaruhi oleh kondisi lingkungan seperti suhu dan salinitas. Perubahan suhu dan salinitas dapat merangsang membukanya dinding karpospora sehingga spora dapat lepas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui suhu dan salinitas yang tepap untuk pelepasan spora. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak lengkap dengan perlakuan kejut suhu (25°C, 27°C, 29°C, 25°C, 31°C, dan 33°C). Sedangkan untuk perlakuan kejut salinitas (28 ppt, 30 ppt, 32 ppt, 34 ppt dan 36 ppt). Uji Anova digunakan untuk mengetahui adanya perbedaan rnasing masing perlakuan. Spora yang banyak terlepas selama penelitian terlihat pada kejut suhu 31°C sedangkan yang terendah pada kejut suhu 25°C (kontrol). Sedangkan untuk kejut salinitas jumlah spora terbanyak yang lepas pada kejut salinitas 34 ppt dan terendah pada salinitas 28 ppt (kontrol). Kesimpulan yang didapat adalah kejut suhu dan salinitas dapat dimanfaatkan untuk pelepasan spora. Summary The realize of Gracilaria spores can be influenced by environment condition such as temperature and salinity. The changing of temperature and salinity will stimulated carpospores wall to open and realize spores contain. The aim of these study was to looking for the maximum of temperature and salinity to realize spores of Gracilaria. Randomized design was applied on these studies with the temperature shock treatment was 25°C, 27°C, 29°C, 25°C, 31°C, and 33°C. Mind while the salinity shock treatment was 28 ppt, 30 ppt, 32 ppt, 34 ppt and 36 ppt. Anava test was use to evaluate the differences between treatment. The result show, that the highest number of spores was occur on the temperature 31°C and the lowest numbers on the temperature 25°C (control). While the optimal salinity which influenced spores realize on 34 ppt and the lowest on 28 ppt (control). The result can be concluded that, the temperature and salinity shock can be use as stimulating spore realize.

    Salah satu usaha konservasi melindungi Penyu hijau (Chelonia mydas L.) yaitu dengan tindakan relokasi dengan memindahkan telur dari sarang alami ke tempat penetasan semi alami. Waktu pemindahan dan peletakan telur yang tepat sangat diperlukan untuk memperoleh daya tetas maksimal. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh selang waktu peletakan telur Penyu Hijau terhadap keberhasilan penetasannya. Rancangan penelitian adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok berdasarkan 3 induk yang berbeda dengan perlakuan selang waktu peletakan yaitu 2, 7 dan 12 jam. Pengukuran dan pengamatan kondisi lingkungan dilakukan selama inkubasi. Pengamatan munculnya tukik mulai dilakukan pada hari ke 50 masa inkubasi.  Pembongkaran sarang dilakukan pada hari ke 60 masa inkubasi kemudian dilakukan pembedahan secara manual untuk mengamati telur yang gagal menetas.
