Background: Valid instruments that can reliably assess maternal breastfeeding knowledge in Arabic-speaking populations are nonexistent. The availability of such an instrument is essential for investigators working in this field. Objective: This study aimed to describe the adaptation and validation of the Arabic Breastfeeding Knowledge Questionnaire (BFK-A) from the original 20-item English version. Methods: A translated version of the 20-item BFK was validated among 417 Lebanese women after pilot testing for clarity, comprehension, length, and cultural appropriateness. Exploratory factor analysis was run to examine dimensionality of the instrument and Kuder-Richardson-20 (KR-20) was used to assess its internal consistency. Results: The BFK-A is a unidimensional scale with acceptable internal consistency reliability (KR-20 = 0.652) after the exclusion of 4 items. Higher breastfeeding knowledge levels were strongly and statistically significantly associated with higher mean scores for...

BackgroundTo examine mental health during COVID-19 peaks, lockdown, and times of curfew, many studies have used the LPA/LCA person-centered approach to uncover and explore unobserved groups. However, the majority of research has focused only on negative psychological concepts to explain mental health. In this paper, we take another perspective to explore mental health. In addition, the study focuses on a period of peak decline in the COVID-19 pandemic.ObjectiveThe present paper aim (a) empirically identifies different profiles among a cohort of Facebook users in Tunisia based on positive factors of mental health using a person-centered approach, (b) outline identified profiles across sociodemographic, internet use, and physical activity, and (c) establish predictors of these profiles.MethodsCross-sectional data were collected through an online survey among 950 Facebook users were female (n = 499; 52.53%) and male (n = 451; 47.47) with an average age =31.30 ± 9.42.

The objective of this study was to discover the repertoire of coping strategies used by young Tunisian male and female athletes in individual and team sports when competing in their sport, and to examine the effect of gender and type of sport on these strategies. A total of 917 young Tunisian athletes including 349 female athletes and 568 male athletes, aged 14 to 19, with an average age of 15.63 ± 1.5 years, participated in our study. Participants were invited to respond to the Arabic version of the Competitive Sport Adaptation Strategy Inventory to assess their coping repertoire. The results revealed that factors, such as gender, and type of sport, influenced the coping repertoire among young athletes. In the inter-personal and intra-personal context, young athletes used a wide variety of coping strategies, all of which were task-oriented and disengagement-oriented.

The objective of this article is to present the results of a study on the impact of age and sex on the repertory of coping used by Tunisian athletes in collective sport. In this context, we used the Arabic version of the inventory of sports adaptation strategies for 419 athletes, including 278 men and 141 women with an average age of 19.00 years (SD=5.52). This measuring instrument includes ten first-order coping strategies arranged into three second-order coping strategies. The processing of the data collected by the IBM SPSS software showed the following results. Our study showed that female teen athletes are more likely to adopt coping strategies aimed at disengagement. However, male teen athletes use a task and distraction repertoire of coping. On the other hand, adult female athletes are moving more towards the coping of disengagement and distraction. However, adult male athletes use more task-based coping. Age and gender are therefore variables that directly influence the repe...

Our study aims to investigate the prevalence of the phenomenon of bigorexia (addiction to sport) through its relationship with perfectionism and overtraining among Tunisian players in team sports. 153 players from team sports with (mean age 19.97± 03,018) responded to various questionnaires such as addiction to sport scale (the EDS-R of Hausenblas and Downs, 2002), the questionnaire of overtraining (the SOSQ of Chatard et al.,2003) and the assessment of perfectionism developed by Burns (1981). The presented results indicate that the scale of dependence to physical exercise has a very good internal consistency (α = .889). The results obtained from the correlation matrix between perfectionism, overtraining and the 7 dimensions of addiction to sport indicate that there is a negative correlation at p <0.1 between perfectionism, overtraining and the majority of variables of addiction to sport. While the correlation between overtraining and the 7 dimensions is positive at p <0.1 exc...

Background Suicide represents a public health concern, imposing a dramatic burden. Prosuicide websites are “virtual pathways” facilitating a rise in suicidal behaviors, especially among socially isolated, susceptible individuals. Objective The aim of this study is to characterize suicide-related webpages in the Italian language. Methods The first 5 most commonly used search engines in Italy (ie, Bing, Virgilio, Yahoo, Google, and Libero) were mined using the term “suicidio” (Italian for suicide). For each search, the first 100 webpages were considered. Websites resulting from each search were collected and duplicates deleted so that unique webpages could be analyzed and rated with the HONcode instrument Results A total of 65 webpages were included: 12.5% (8/64) were antisuicide and 6.3% (4/64) explicitly prosuicide. The majority of the included websites had a mixed or neutral attitude toward suicide (52/64, 81.2%) and had informative content and purpose (39/64, 60.9%). Most webpages...

Aims: To identify the impact of the information consumption modalities related to the COVID-19 pandemic and its vaccine, on the vaccination decision among the social media users. Also to study the relationships between vaccination attitudes, and latent subgroups, socio-demographic variables, fear of COVID-19 and perceived stress. Method: A total of 723 subjects (male: n = 353; 48.8%; female: n = 370; 51.2%), aged 31.08 ± 10.77, participated in our survey prepared online on the Google Forms application via the platforms Twitter and Facebook. Results: Five latent classes were identified by the analysis: Class 1 (mixed consumers), class 2 (the largest consumers of social media), class 3 (consumers of official information), class 4 (low consumers of information on the vaccine) and class 5 (social media consumers information verifiers). Also, the subgroup that is knowledgeable about COVID-19 pandemic and its vaccine, and who consumes the most information about the vaccine from official sources, is the one with the highest vaccine acceptance rate. In addition, the hesitant attitude towards the COVID-19 vaccine was linked to gender and mask wearing, while refusal behavior was linked to age, female gender, education level, mask wearing, and fear of COVID-19. Conclusion: The results of the study suggest that specific interventions on social media are needed, to reduce hesitancy rates, and the refusal of vaccination, which is crucial in this period of prevailing of COVID-19 virus.

Context/Objective: This is a preliminary study of movement finalities prediction in manual wheelchairs (MWCs) from electromyography (EMG) data. MWC users suffer from musculoskeletal disorders and need assistance while moving. The purpose of this work is to predict the direction and speed of movement in MWCs from EMG data prior to movement initiation. This prediction could be used by MWC to assist users in their displacement by doing a smart electrical assistance based on displacement prediction. Design: Experimental study. Setting: Trained Subject LAMIH Laboratory. Participants: Eight healthy subjects trained to move in manual wheelchairs. Interventions: Subjects initiated the movement in three directions (front, right and left) and with two speeds (maximum speed and spontaneous speed) from two hand positions (on the thighs or on the handrim). A total of 96 movements was studied. Activation of 14 muscles was recorded bilaterally at the deltoid anterior, deltoid posterior, biceps brachii, pectoralis major, rectus abdominis, obliquus externus and erector spinae. Outcome Measures: Prior amplitude, prior time and anticipatory postural adjustments were measured. A hierarchical multi-class classification using logistic regression was used to create a cascade of prediction models. We performed a stepwise (forward-backward) selection of variables using the Bayesian information criterion. Percentages of well-classified movements have been measured through the means of a cross-validation. Results: Prediction is possible using the EMG parameters and allows to discriminate the direction / speed combination with 95% correct classification on the 6 possible classes (3 directions * 2 speeds). Conclusion: Action planning in the static position showed significant adaptability to the forthcoming parameters displacement. The percentages of prediction presented in this work make it possible to envision an intuitive assistance to the initiation of the MWC displacement adapted to the user's intentions.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common neuro-developmental/behavioral disorders among adolescents. Sport and physical activity seem to play a major role in the development of cognition, memory, selective attention and motor reaction time, especially among adolescents with ADHD. In this context, the objective of this study was to investigate the effects of a one-and-a-half-year-long Taekwondo (TKD) intervention on cognitive function in adolescents with ADHD. Two cognitive instruments, namely the Stroop and the Ruff 2 and 7 tests, were administered to assess attentional inhibitory control and sustained and selective visual attention, respectively. Comparisons between the TKD and control groups at baseline did not reveal significant differences. For post-test scores, there were statistically significant differences on the Stroop color block test (large effect size or ES = 1.26 [95% confidence interval or CI 0.30–2.22]), the color-word interference tes...

To examine (a) the relationships between the psychosocial risk factors and injury rates and (b) the effects of psychological-based prevention interventions on the injury risk of soccer players. Scholarly electronic databases (PubMed/MEDLINE, Google Scholar, Scopus) were searched on 1 January 2017, complemented by manual searches of bibliographies. Systematic review and meta-analysis. We identified 13 eligible studies, including a total of 1149 injured soccer players aged between 14 and 36 years. Psychosocial risk factors, psychological-based prevention interventions and injury risk in soccer players. Personality traits, such as trait anxiety and perceived mastery climate, along with a history of stressors, like negative-life-event stress or high level of life stress, daily hassle, and previous injury, are the main predictors of injury rates among soccer players. Also, from injury prevention studies, it has been shown that psychological-based interventions reduce injury rates (effect...

Burnout can be defined as an occupational syndrome resulting from poorly managed chronic workplace stress. It is characterized by three dimensions: feelings of energy depletion or exhaustion; increased mental distance from one's job, or feelings of negativism or cynicism related to one's job; and reduced professional efficacy. Teachers are among the human service professionals particularly vulnerable to occupational burnout. Teaching is a highly demanding and challenging task, in that requires constant confrontation with different stakeholders (students and their parents, administrators). Among teachers, physical education teachers have been particularly understudied even though a recently published systematic review has found that they are exposed to high levels of stress. To better explore burnout syndrome among physical education teachers, the present systematic review was undertaken, searching up to six languages. Fifty-six studies were included in the present review. Th...

UNSTRUCTURED Objective: Validation and examination of the psychometrics of an adapted version in Arabic of the Game Experience Questionnaire in Tunisia. Methods: A total of 771 voluntary participants completed an online survey that included an adapted Arabic version of the Game Experience Questionnaire (GEQ), gaming data and a socio-demographic questionnaire. Subjects were randomized to complete two exploratory and confirmatory phases. 360 selected participants, aged 23.89± 2.29, provided exploratory data. Female (n = 111; 30.83%) and male (n = 249; 69.2%) participants were recruited. However, confirmatory data were acquired from 411 subjects with 19–26-year-olds (M = 21.94, SD = 1.80). Results: The results of the exploratory factor analysis of the Arabic version of the GEQ provided an adequate factor structure, after the elimination of two items. In addition, the internal consistency measured by the three McDonald's instruments, Cronbach's α Guttman's λ6 suggests the re...

The ability to tune and control the magnetic phases of two-dimensional (2D) nanomagnets at room temperature is indispensable for the development of future spintronics and low-dimensional spin circuits. In this work, a first-principles-based investigation combined with a Monte Carlo simulation based on a 2D Ising model is used to investigate the electronic and magnetic behaviour of a recently discovered 2D material, Cr2Ge2Se6 over a large range of strain and electric field strength. This material offers ferromagnetic → antiferromagnetic and semiconductor → metallic phase transitions in different regimes. In the presence of strain, a colossal enhancement of the critical temperature (T c ) is observed, from 149 K to 885 K. The application of an electric field allows a further enhancement of the T c to a value of 919 K, offering a supreme enhancement (~517%), compared to its natural condition. The origin of this behavior can be traced to a super-exchange interaction between the Cr and S...

Arm-trunk coordination during the initiation of displacement in manual wheelchair is a complex task. The objective of this work is to study the arm-trunk coordination by measuring anticipatory and compensatory postural adjustments. Nine healthy subjects participated in the study after being trained in manual wheelchair. They were asked to initiate a displacement in manual wheelchair in three directions (forward vs. left vs. right), with two speeds (spontaneous vs. maximum) and with two initial hand's positions (hands on thighs vs. hands on handrails). Muscular activities in the trunk (postural component) and the arms (focal component) were recorded bilaterally. The results show two strategies for trunk control: An anticipatory adjustment strategy and a compensatory adjustment strategy with a dominance of compensation. These two strategies are influenced by the finalities of displacement in terms of speed and direction depending on the hands positions. Arm-trunk coordination is c...
