I have o... moreMy career to date has been predominantly within the public and private education sectors of Europe and Asia. I have over ten years’ experience in Asia, with a considerable period of that time focused on teaching, research, business development and development consulting.
I have extensive knowledge of the education sector in the ASEAN region and skills in project management, programme evaluation, partnership/business development, and internationalisation strategy. I am an effective communicator in a culturally diverse environment and work conscientiously with disparate internal and external partners and stakeholders.
I am currently engaged as an intermittent consultant on the European Commission grant funded Support to Higher Education in the ASEAN Region (SHARE) programme. The purpose of the project is to strengthen regional cooperation, enhance the quality, competitiveness and internationalisation of ASEAN higher education institutions.
In 2015 I was appointed Senior EU Expert to the Thai Government Bureau of International Cooperation Strategy to develop a methodology and tools for the measurement and evaluation of Thai higher education internationalisation. This followed on from an internationalisation evaluation project I completed in 2013 with the Thai Government Office of the Higher Education Commission.
In addition to education development roles, I have been appointed an External Accreditation Specialist for the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ). I have recently held senior leadership roles for a non-profit organisation and an international philanthropic consulting firm. In February this year, I completed a feasibility study on a leadership centre development project with a Singapore based education and human capital development think tank.

The five-day event was hosted by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation Regional Centre for Higher Education and Development (SEAMEO RIHED) to celebrate significant milestones and to advance discussions on the future of higher education in the region.

This third volume focuses on ASEAN member states, a region with increasing intra-regional student mobility, several TNE hub countries, and increasing within-region research partnerships and collaboration.

The Short-Term Senior EU Expert was assigned to work with the Bureau of International Cooperation Strategy (BICS) at the Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC) to enable Thai universities to measure their
internationalisation performance and relative improvement.
This entailed assisting BICS, OHEC in the development and implementation of approaches for Thai higher education institutions to monitor and evaluate the extent of their internationalisation and also identify barriers to the process.
The assignment required process facilitation and information sharing and exchanges on professional programmes. There are three (3) activities outlined in the Terms of Reference;
1.Design of a model for monitoring/evaluating how far universities have progressed towards internationalisation and defining steps they should take to better their internationalisation position.
2.Tools to measure the extent of university internationalisation.
3.Recommendations for enhancing implementation of internationalisation process in agreed areas of priorities at the level of OHEC.
