The new presented Butterfly-PSO technique (or BF-PSO) is basically originated by Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The Butterfly-PSO technique (BF-PSO) appears as a new growing star among all optimization techniques. The proposed 'Butterfly-Particle Swarm Optimization (Butterfly or BF-PSO)' is inspired by butterfly natural intelligence, character, behavior, intelligent network and intelligent communication during the nectar search process. The BF-PSO introduces new parameters such as sensitivity of butterfly (s), probability of food (nectar) (p), the degree of the node and the time varying probability coefficient (α). These parameters improve the searching ability, excellent convergence and the overall performance of the Butterfly-PSO effectivly. The BF-PSO optimizations results have been presented for various functions with the multi-dimension problems.

In the industry, Multi-objectives problems are a big defy and they are also hard to be conquered by conventional methods. For this reason, heuristic algorithms become an executable choice when facing this kind of problems. The main objective of this work is to investigate the use of the Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II (NSGA-II) technique using the real valued recombination and the real valued mutation in the tuning of the computed torque controller gains of a PUMA560 arm manipulator. The NSGA-II algorithm with real valued operators searches for the controller gains so that the six Integral of the Absolute Errors (IAE) in joint space are minimized. The implemented model under MATLAB allows an optimization of the Proportional-Derivative computed torque controller parameters while the cost functions and time are simultaneously minimized.. Moreover, experimental results also show that the real valued recombination and the real valued mutation operators can improve the performance of NSGA-II effectively.

In this paper we have considered nonlinear fractional programming problem with multiple constraints. A pair of primal and dual for a special type of nonlinear fractional programming has been considered under fuzzy environment. Exponential membership function has been used to deal with the fuzziness. Duality results have been developed for the special type of nonlinear programming using exponential membership function. The method has been illustrated with numerical example. Genetic Algorithm as well as Fuzzy programming approach has been used to solve the problem.

Environmental and sustainability concerns are developing the significance of distributed generation (DG) based on renewable energy sources. In this paper, dynamic responses investigation of grid connected wind turbine using permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) under variable wind speeds and load circumstances is carried out. In order to control of turbine output power using Fuzzy Logic controller (FLC) in comparison with PI controller is proposed. Furthermore, the pitch angle based on FLC using wind speed and active power as inputs, can have faster responses, thereby leading to smoother power curves, enhancement of dynamic performance of wind turbine and prevention of mechanical damages to PMSG. Inverter adjusted the DC link voltage and active power is fed by d-axis and reactive power is fed by q-axis (using P-Q control mode). Simulation of wind power generation system (WPGS) is carried out in Matlab/Simulink, and the results verify the correctness and feasibility of control strategy.

Reducing of pollutants with simultaneous increase of the gas turbine power, is always a fundamental aim of the Turbine technology. New developed structures and operating systems in the turbine production have been established. In the meanwhile, burning instabilities are still appearing in these systems during a Cross-ignition process (CI), creating pollutants due to high flame temperatures, and are not yet completely investigated. The phenomena of a CI is taking place during operation of malty-burner combustion chambers, when one burner is extinguished and a particular volume of combustible mixture is formed in the distance between this burner and the adjacent lightened one, which considered to be as an ignition path. Cross ignition process should be performed along the ignition path in a particularly controlled small time. So that, no excessive quantities of combustible mixtures will be injected during this time in the combustion chamber. Otherwise, burning instabilities and mechanical wear will be occurred. Depending on this illustration, the Cross Ignition Time (CIT) of an extinguished burner, that will be considered as the evaluation measure for the entire cross-ignition process, should be Possibly as low as its normal ignition time. The main objective of this project is to reproduce constructive criteria for controlling of cross ignition process by influencing the mixing process and heat flux in a defined mixing zone existing along the ignition path.

Driver's drowsiness is one of the major causes of serious accidents in road traffic. Thus, special effort in searching for better assistant technology has been paid. However, several existing approaches fail to work effectively as the head of a drowsy driver is usually in slanting state. Moreover, the shaking of vehicle or the driver's winking even makes the problem much more complicated. Anyway, head bend posture also signifies a drowsy state. Consequently, this paper proposes a novel approach by considering head nodding behaviour as an input in our detection model. After detecting a human face, some significant facial features are extracted; then, they are used to calculate the predetermined optimal parameters; finally, drowsiness is evaluated based on these thresholds. In our empirical experiments, the proposed algorithm can successfully and accurately detect 96.56% of cases.

Volatility Forecasting is an interesting challenging topic in current financial instruments as it is directly associated with profits. There are many risks and rewards directly associated with volatility. Hence forecasting volatility becomes most dispensable topic in finance. The GARCH distributions play an important role in the risk measurement and option pricing. The min motive of this paper is to measure the performance of GARCH techniques for forecasting volatility by using different distribution model. We have used 9 variations in distribution models that are used to forecast the volatility of a stock entity. The different GARCH distribution models observed in this paper are Std, Norm, SNorm, GED, SSTD, SGED, NIG, GHYP and JSU. Volatility is forecasted for 10 days in advance and values are compared with the actual values to find out the best distribution model for volatility forecast. From the results obtain it has been observed that GARCH with GED distribution models has outperformed all models.

The purpose of this article is to determine the usefulness of the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) calculations used to implement the Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) reduction of the TERM-BY-DOCUMENT matrix. Considered reduction of the matrix is based on the use of the SVD (Singular Value Decomposition) decomposition. A high computational complexity of the SVD decomposition-O(n 3), causes that a reduction of a large indexing structure is a difficult task. In this article there is a comparison of the time complexity and accuracy of the algorithms implemented for two different environments. The first environment is associated with the CPU and MATLAB R2011a. The second environment is related to graphics processors and the CULA library. The calculations were carried out on generally available benchmark matrices, which were combined to achieve the resulting matrix of high size. For both considered environments computations were performed for double and single precision data.

An advanced direct torque control (DTC) technique using Model predictive control (MPC) is proposed for matrix converter (MC)-based permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive system, which reduces the torque ripples, does not need the duty cycle calculation, and ensures the fixed switching frequency. Analytical expressions of change rates of torque and flux of PMSM as a function of MC – dqo components are derived. The predictive model of PMSM and MC is realized by means of State model. Then, the advanced MC-fed DTC algorithm is implemented based on Cost function evaluation. The simulation results exhibit remarkable torque ripple reduction with the help of MPC. As a result, the proposed strategy is proved to be effective in minimizing the torque ripples for MC-based PMSM drives. Keywords Direct torque control (DTC), matrix converter (MC), permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), Model predictive control (MPC), and Cost function

In this paper is proposed a new algorithm to construct S-Boxes over GF(28) with Branch Number value at least 3. This is an important property that guarantees a high diusion in the S-Box [12]. Also are introduced some defnition and properties that show the behavior of S-Boxes under the composition with affine functions. Finally is presented a comparision between this algorithm and the method proposed by Tavares [12]. 1 INTRODUCATION In his paper Communication Theory of Secrecy Systems", Claude Shannon defines confusion and diffusion as two essential properties for block cipher design. S-Boxes to be used in this cryptographic algorithms require the compliance of criteria such as Nonlinearity, Branch Number, Algebraic Degree and Differential Characteristic, which bring security against differential and linear cryptanalysis [9][10]. In 1994 Tavares [12] proposes a method to and S-Boxes with a desired value of Branch Number. The principal problem of this proposal is that the obtained S-Boxes can have a big number of fixed points and his Nonlinearity values were small to be used in Block Ciphers. In this paper we propose a new algorithm to construct S-Boxes with Branch Number at least 3. In this method the obtained S-Boxes doesn't have fixed points and his Nonlinearity values are acceptable. Also we present the definition of Parameter Set and introduce some properties that allow show when the parameter set of a S-Box is invariant under the composition with affine transformations. This have an special importance because we can obtain dynamic S-Boxes for Block Ciphers constructing one with good Parameter Set and making the composition with a_ne functions. 2 THEORETICAL ASPECTS In this section are presented some definitions related with S-boxes design that are very important for a better understanding of the paper.

In this paper suggested an improve estimator for mean using Linex loss function and shows that the improved estimator dominates the Searls (1964) estimator underLinex loss function. The sufficient statistics can be used to find the uniformly minimum risk unbiased estimators. In this paper an improve estimation forµ 2 is suggested (which uses coefficient of variation) under Linex loss function. The mathematical expression of improve estimator of fourth power of mean is also obtained and an improve estimator for common mean in negative exponential distribution is also proposed under Linex loss function.Pandey and Malik (1994) considered the estimator y x w y w x w T 3 2 2 2 1 1 + + = ′ for common mean with the restriction. 1 3 2 1 = + + w w w Here considered the above estimator for 1 3 2 1 ≠ + + w w w and studied its property under Linex loss function. In this paper alsoconsidered the displaced exponential distribution under Linex loss function and suggested an improve estimator.

The aim of this paper is to present some odd graceful graphs. In particular we show that an odd graceful labeling of the all subdivision of double triangular snakes (2 k ∆-snake). We also prove that the all subdivision of 2 1 m ∆-snake are odd graceful. Finally, we generalize the above two results (the all subdivision of 2 k m ∆-snake are odd graceful).

Computing the minimum spanning tree of the graph is one of the fundamental computational problems. In this paper, we present a new parallel algorithm for computing the minimum spanning tree of an undirected weighted graph with n vertices and m edges. This algorithm uses the cluster techniques to reduce the number of processors by fraction 1/ () f n and the parallel work by the fraction O (1 lo g (()) f n),where () f n is an arbitrary function. In the case () 1 f n = , the algorithm runs in logarithmic-time and use super linear work on EREWPRAM model. In general, the proposed algorithm is the simplest one.

Ring theory is one of the branches of the abstract algebra that has been broadly used in images. However, ring theory has not been very related with image segmentation. In this paper, we propose a new index of similarity among images using rings and the entropy function. This new index was applied as a new stopping criterion to the Mean Shift Iterative Algorithm with the goal to reach a better segmentation. An analysis on the performance of the algorithm with this new stopping criterion is carried out. The obtained results proved that the new index is a suitable tool to compare images.

In this paper, we show that the number of edges for any odd harmonious Eulerian graph is congruent to 0 or 2 (mod 4), and we found a counter example for the inverse of this statement is not true. We also proved that, the graphs which are constructed by two copies of even cycle Cn sharing a common edge are odd harmonious. In addition, we obtained an odd harmonious labeling for the graphs which are constructed by two copies of cycle Cn sharing a common vertex when n is congruent to 0 (mod 4). Moreover, we show that, the Cartesian product of cycle graph Cm and path Pn for each) 4 (mod 0 , 2 ≡ ≥ m n are odd harmonious graphs. Finally many new families of odd harmonious graphs are introduced.

Data mining consists of evolving set of techniques that can be used to extract valuable information and knowledge from massive volumes of data. This paper highlights the data mining techniques applied to mine a group of received staff petitions through staff complaint mechanism in UN organization in Gaza. Staff complaint mechanism (feedback mechanism) is a mechanism that supports the staff members. The employees send complaints / petitions that face them by filling the requested details including the request type (complaint, question, suggestion, others, beneficiary or not categorized). The response unit receives the requests and categorize it, and finally prepares the reply then sends it back to the employee. The important thing is: after the employee receives the reply, the employee should indicate whether he/she is satisfied with it or not. So the period between request date and reply date may affects the feedback since the regular reply period must not exceed 7 days after receiving any request. In this paper we attempted to study and analyze the data received within 18 months. This data sample contains more than 6000 records that cover different employee requests types. Thus, we try to know the effects of delay of reply on the feedback received by complainant staff; furthermore, we need to know what kinds of staff that always ask questions and try to find the relationship between staff salary (according to grade) and nature of the request. Thus this paper gives insight on how data mining can be applied in finding the consequences of staff requests and needs and hence try to minimize these requests over the time.

Image segmentation is a critical step in computer vision tasks constituting an essential issue for pattern recognition and visual interpretation. In this paper, we study the behavior of entropy in digital images through an iterative algorithm of mean shift filtering. The order of a digital image in gray levels is defined. The behavior of Shannon entropy is analyzed and then compared, taking into account the number of iterations of our algorithm, with the maximum entropy that could be achieved under the same order. The use of equivalence classes it induced, which allow us to interpret entropy as a hyper-surface in real mdimensional space. The difference of the maximum entropy of order n and the entropy of the image is used to group the the iterations, in order to caractrizes the performance of the algorithm.

This paper presents a new approach to determine the optimal proportional-integral-derivative controller
parameters for the speed control of a separately excited DC motor using firefly optimization technique.
Firefly algorithm is one of the recent evolutionary methods which are inspired by the Firefly’s behavior in
nature. The firefly optimization technique is successfully implemented using MATLAB software. A
comparison is drawn from the results obtained between the linear quadratic regulator and firefly
optimization techniques. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the performance and validity of the
design method.

This paper illustrates a Comparative study of highly non-linear, complex and multivariable Inverted
Pendulum (IP) system on Cart using different soft computing techniques. Firstly, a Fuzzy logic controller
was designed using triangular and trapezoidal shape Membership functions (MF's). The trapezoidal fuzzy
controller shows better results in comparison to triangular fuzzy controller. Secondly, an Adaptive neuro
fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) controller was used to optimize the results obtained from trapezoidal fuzzy
controller. Finally, the study illustrates the effect of variation in shape of MF's on Performance parameters
of the IP system. The results shows that ANFIS controller provides better results in comparison to both
fuzzy controller.

Reducing of pollutants with simultaneous increase of the gas turbine power, is always a fundamental aim
of the Turbine technology. New developed structures and operating systems in the turbine production have
been established. In the meanwhile, burning instabilities are still appearing in these systems during a
Cross-ignition process (CI), creating pollutants due to high flame temperatures, and are not yet completely
investigated.
The phenomena of a CI is taking place during operation of malty-burner combustion chambers, when one
burner is extinguished and a particular volume of combustible mixture is formed in the distance between
this burner and the adjacent lightened one, which considered to be as an ignition path.
Cross ignition process should be performed along the ignition path in a particularly controlled small time.
So that, no excessive quantities of combustible mixtures will be injected during this time in the combustion
chamber. Otherwise, burning instabilities and mechanical wear will be occurred.
Depending on this illustration, the Cross Ignition Time (CIT) of an extinguished burner, that will be
considered as the evaluation measure for the entire cross-ignition process, should be Possibly as low as its
normal ignition time.
The main objective of this project is to reproduce constructive criteria for controlling of cross ignition
process by influencing the mixing process and heat flux in a defined mixing zone existing along the ignition
path.

The new presented Butterfly-PSO technique (or BF-PSO) is basically originated by Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The Butterfly-PSO technique (BF-PSO) appears as a new growing star among all optimization techniques. The proposed ‘Butterfly- Particle Swarm Optimization (Butterfly or BF-PSO)’ is inspired by butterfly natural intelligence, character, behavior, intelligent network and intelligent communication during the nectar search process.
