The Latin American (LA) population resident in the USA is a growing subgroup of the population. To find out the structure of attitude towards organ donation in the LA population resident in Florida (USA). A sample was taken of LA residents in Florida, randomised and stratified by nationality, age and sex (n=1524). Attitude was assessed using a validated questionnaire (PCID-DTO Rios), that was self-completed anonymously. The survey completion rate was 95% (n=1450). Attitude was favourable in 33% of respondents (n=485), against in 40% (n=575) and undecided in 27% (n=390). The following variables were associated with a favourable attitude: country of origin (Dominican Republic; p=0.038); sex (female; p<0.001); marital status (married; p<0.001); level of education (university;…

RationaleGeneric and disease-specific questionnaires are used to measure effects of AR treatment on QOL. Often, statistical differences are observed with the more sensitive disease-specific instrument but the generic instrument may lack sufficient depth to measure important problems associated with a particular condition.11Juniper EF. Abstract. Data integration across multiple disciplines is a key requirement for virtual observatories. We have designed and implemented a virtual observatory for the areas of solar, solar-terrestrial, and space physics that leverages semantic technologies. Our work provides an implemented demonstration of ontologyenabled semantic interoperability. We have encoded an ontology in OWL covering topics of importance to atmospheric and solar researchers. This ontology is used to inform our virtual observatory services. Our goal was ...

We have developed a semantic data framework that supports interdisciplinary virtual observatory projects across the fields of solar physics, space physics and solar-terrestrial physics. This work required a formal, machine understandable representation for concepts, relations and attributes of physical quantities in the domains of interest as well as their underlying data representations. To fulfill this need, we developed a set of solar-terrestrial ontologies as formal encodings of the knowledge in the Ontology Web Language ...
