Blockchain technology has significant potential for improving the environmental performance of businesses and supply chains. One of the key benefits of blockchain is its ability to provide greater transparency and traceability in supply chains. This can enable companies to better monitor and manage their environmental impacts, such as carbon emissions and waste production, throughout their supply chain. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the use of blockchain technology in improving supply chain alignment (SCA), supply chain agility (SCAG), and supply chain performance (SCP), and their influence on the environmental performance (EP) of firms. Additionally, the study aimed to identify the moderating effect of innovative climate (IC) on the relationship between SCA, SCAG, SCP, and EP. The researchers employed a quantitative research paradigm and collected data through a survey questionnaire. The sample was collected using the probability cluster sampling method and consisted of 350 personnel in executive and middle management positions. The results indicated that SCA, SCAG, and SCP positively impact the EP of businesses, and this relationship is moderated by IC. The study's findings have several theoretical and practical implications, including the potential for blockchain technology to improve supply chain sustainability and the importance of fostering an innovative climate to enhance the positive effects of SCA, SCAG, and SCP on EP.

The use of plastic bags has long been a global concern due to its hazardous contributions to the environment. Firms, governments, and special interest groups (like Greenpeace) have always earnestly ventured, through their individual or collaborative initiatives, strategies and/or (demarketing) campaigns, to discourage the use of plastic bags to ensure a healthy and sustainable planet. However, such initiatives are least likely to produce desired results if the most important stakeholder i.e., consumers do not perceive greater value from such a reduction in usage of plastic bags. Considering the same an important precondition for building positive intentions and consequent behaviors to reduce plastic bag usage and a complementor of demarketing efforts of the stakeholders, the primary purpose of this study has been to investigate the role of consumers’ green orientation, environmental knowledge, and perceived instrumentality of demarketing efforts in enhancing the perceived value of p...

Environmental sustainability, air pollution and saving natural resources has become the priority of not only government but researchers, practitioners and consumers. The growth in the transport sector uplifts the consumers' living standards but at the same time, deteriorated the environment and polluted the air especially in developing countries like Pakistan. In this regard, the development of hybrid electric vehicles enables consumers to solve their travelling problems with minimum effect on the environment. For this purpose, it becomes essential to understand consumers' intentions regarding hybrid vehicles adoption in Pakistan. Keeping this in mind, an extended model was developed based on Hofstede's cultural value and theory of planned behavior. A total of 558 responses were used for data analysis through PLS-SEM. Results suggested that seven out of eight hypotheses are accepted, and one is rejected. The possible reasons and practical implications of the results are discussed. In the final, limitations and future directions of the research are discussed.

Corporate governance and management of working capital are seen as two main fields of corporate finance. The purpose of the research study is to examine the interrelationships between corporate governance, working capital management and performance of the firm. Design/Methodology/Approach: Sample consists of 140 non-financial firms listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange from 2008 to 2015. Data has been analyzed by using structural equation model. Mediating effects of managing working capital have been tested by using the approach suggested by Preacher and Hayes (2008). Findings: The findings revealed that current ratio partially mediates the effect of size of the board and CEO role duality. For the other relationship the study found that board size affects firm performance positively whereas CEO duality and audit committee independence have negative impact on profitability of firms. For the relationship of working capital management on firm Performance, the study identified substantial negative and positive impacts on firm performance of the cash conversion period and current ratio, respectively. Implications/Originality/Value: The current study was based on least considered variables and the pioneer in testing the complex relationship through SEM-AMOS.
