This books publishes one of the most important private collections of Sasanian ever formed. Altogether, it lists 723 gold, silver, billon, copper, and lead coins from Ardashir I to Yazdgerd III. Many hitherto unpublished variants are presented and discussed. Due to the fact that the Schaaf collection is representative of the entire Sasanian coin series, the book can also serve as a general introduction to Sasanian numismatics.
