Animated avatar autoportrait week.
Take "inspiration" from Mirre's avatar, and create your own in the similar manner. You don't have to try to copy the style, it can be completely your own thing, but it have to be your own self-portrait, that interchanges betwen "realistic" you, and you as a member of a different humanoid species.
That different you can have a different skin colour and facture, covered in feathers, scales, cybernetic implants or even flames, pointy ears or protruding fangs, and of course different garments and accessories, but your face still have to be recognisable.
You have to use some kind of animation to swich between them.
The minimum is one human you and one nonhuman you, but you are allowed to change into as many difefrent species as you like.
Canvas Size - exactly 64x64.
Colors - Max 24.
Transparency - Optional.
Animation - Required.
The 18-color palette competition has ended and we have our winners! Yes winners plural! For the first time in Pixel Joint history we have a tie for the 1st place, even after calling in more guest judges. The top 4's scores also only differ by a couple of points. Very fierce competition, and many great palettes!
We have thus settled on giving the award for the 1st place to both entries, but had a second vote to decide which of those two palettes will be used for mISOlogy. The second vote was only between the 1st place winners, and by frequent ISO collab participants.
The winning palette to be used for mISOlogy is Morganne's Eris18! The collab will begin on November 1st.
Big thanks to the moderators Gecimen, Trigonomicon, Weerdmeester, Irenaart, vrine, and StevenM, and to the guest judges jeremy, skamocore, Umbohr, aamatnieks, and Cyangmou for helping us select the winners.
1. Morganne - Eris18
1. Reo - CerbeREOs
2. Mirre - Serene18
3. Night - Asympix18
4. Matt - Historian18
5. gawrone - Ancient Fresco
6. skeddles - Greyteen
Pixelween 2023 is still running for another few days (until October 25th) but this week's challenge is not part of the competition!
This is the bonus round, and a chance to continue the fun until Halloween and while the competition is being judged.
You will be pixelling a scene on whichever one of these two themes you did not already pixel for; Threat from Outer Space OR From Hell.
Threat from Outer Space: Earth is no longer safe for us, but would we be safer somewhere else? It seems we might not, when we turn our gaze upwards. Is that the Vogons coming to make space for a new intergalactic highway? Are we being faced with the Old Ones returned to Earth from their journey across space? Or are we being beseiged by aliens in need of a rare resource only found on our planet? If we could put up a good fight there might be some hope for us yet.
*This entry needs to continue upwards from, and connect with, your previous entry from week 3 (Terror from the Skies).
From Hell: Where did this horror originally come from? Show us the depths of evil, the tomb of hell, or the lair of the primordial beast, from where we unleashed these atrocities. Will it be the bottom of Khazad-dûm, the Bed of Chaos or the underground lab where the Black Mesa Incident happened? From where did you summon this Evil, and can it be returned from whence it came?
*This entry needs to continue from, and connect downwards with, your first entry from week 1 (Sounds from the Basement).
As the final round for the competiton is over and the challenges from weeks 1 - 4 are submitted as a competition entry together, it would be very helpful to the moderators if you added them together as an image and entered in a comment on the forum in the Pixelween Announcement thread. You have until October 25th to do this, and to also add parts from any missed weeks from 1-4. As long as at least 2 parts were submitted within deadline for their corresponding weekly challenge, your entry is part of the competition.
Bonus challenge (for after this week): Unofficially continue to make parts, using the same palette, and continue your scene in any (!) direction. The member who makes the highest number of parts by the end of the year will receive a star trophy for their profile.
Technical requirements for this week:
Canvas Size - exactly 140 (horizontal) x 80 (vertical) pixels.
Colors - Max 32, use this palette:
Transparency - No.
Animation - No.
The challenge thread will have all the challenge updates. The thread is also a great place to post your WIPs.

All weekly challenges until October 22nd are part of Pixelween 2023, a contest with prizes. This is the fourth week, and final week for the competition. Next week is the bonus round.
You will be pixelling a scene on a choice of the theme; Threat from Outer Space OR From Hell. The theme you do not choose to do for week 4 will be the option you have for the Bonus Challenge next week. Bonus week is not part of the competiton, but part of your series nonetheless.

All weekly challenges until October 22nd are part of Pixelween 2023, a contest with prizes. This is the third week.
You will be pixelling a scene on the theme; Terror from the Skies. After scurrying around on the ground trying to make it out alive, we turn our gaze upwards. What is that? A giant bat, a UFO, a swarm of locusts, the Langoliers? Is it raining blood? What is this horror that befalls us?
Don't forget that this entry needs to continue from, and connect with, your previous entry from week 2 (Danger on the Horizon).
For an extra challenge add something on the way of disappearing upwards out of frame, that could spill into your next scene (theme still to be announced).
In the upcoming challenges you will be continuing the scenes vertically, but with a new theme and an increasing palette each week.

All weekly challenges until October 22nd are part of Pixelween 2023, a contest with prizes. This is the second week.
You will be pixelling a scene on the theme; Danger on the Horizon. We have now made it out of the basement and are at ground level. What terrors await us here? An axe murder in the closet, a burning house, a host of ghosts hunting us, a poltergeist in the kitchen, arcane cultists having a ritual in ancient ruins, or a field of corn to hide in from a werewolf at night?
