We are all aware of the fact that the term 'Education' is a comprehensive one. The term is also dynamic in nature and is used in both narrow and broader sense. The narrow sense defines education as a part of an individual's schooling system, while the broader one depicts the growth of human consciousness and emphasizes on the greater cause of human beings. Education is a lifelong process and is all pervasive. The great educators of the world have defined 'Education' in a different way. For some education is a way of life, for others it is defining our consciousness and making the world a better place. This paper will give an insight to how education is defined differently by different educators of the East and West, and at the same time how their perspective is contributing to a social cause.

The main purpose of this study is to compare the responses provided by the higher secondary school students of West Bengal on their adjustment ability. The study uses a two-step Cluster Analysis technique and a number of clusters are produced with the residence, gender, stream of study, family structure of the students serving as predictors of the clusters. The impact of the predictors on cluster formation is also examined. Each cluster has a different formation in relation to the predictors. The result showed that, whenever the number of clusters are increased, the number of predictorsis also increased. It was also found that gender becomes the most important predictor in cluster two and seven.When 3, 4 and 5 clusters are formed, stream of the study is determined as most important predictor. Lastly, different dimensions of adjustment ability have negligible contribution.

The main objective of this study is to find out the relationship between academic achievement and emotional adjustment among higher secondary students and to explore whether students' academic achievement determine by their emotional adjustment. The researcher used descriptive survey type research method to conduct this study. A total of 1009 higher secondary school students of West Bengal were selected as a sample through the use of multistage cluster sampling technique. A self standardized adjustment ability inventory has been used by the researcher to collect responses from the students. The finding of this study revealed that there is a significant relationship exists between emotional adjustment and academic achievement of the higher secondary school students. Others findings of this study also revealed that there is a significant differences exists in emotional adjustment between male vs. female, rural vs. urban and arts vs. science stream higher secondary school students.

The main objective of this study is to find out the relationship between internet usage and social adjustment among college-goer students and to know whether students are experiencing social adjustment as a result of internet usage. The researchers used descriptive survey type research method to conduct this study. A number of 202 college students in Purulia district were selected as a sample through the use of stratified random sampling. The findings of this study revealed that there is a negative correlation existing between internet usage and social adjustment among college-goer students. Other findings of this study also revealed that there is no significant difference existing in social adjustment between male and female college-goer students and there is also no significant difference existing in social adjustment between rural and urban college-goers student. But there is a significance difference existing in social adjustment between arts and science college students. Arts stream students were found to be better in social adjustment than the science stream students.

We, the individuals are the central part of a Society where our development fosters the entire development of the society. Education hits the process of social change by changing the mindset of individuals. Proper education establishes social equalities; it provides equal opportunities to individuals irrespective of caste, class, creed and social backgrounds. It also enables students to get rid of social rigidity and teaches them to lead a healthy peaceful life. India is the galaxy of great individuals who have made great contributions in progressing the society and all of them highlighted the role of education to fulfil the dream of social advancement. A pivotal part of social development is women empowerment which not only broaden the scope of women education but also motivates women to protest against several social violences. Present study is an attempt to explore major thoughts of some eminent personalities regarding social and educational development through which the moto of national development can be achieved.

The present descriptive-co relational study investigates the relationship between personality traits and affinity towards internet usage. The research population includes all post graduate students of SidhoKanho Birsha University, Puruli, WB, INDIA. The data collection has been done through internet dependency scale and culturally adapted big five factor inventory and the analysis has been performed through SPSS (version 17). The result of the analysis showed that neuroticism is highly correlated with internet affinity where as other four personality factors are either negatively or not correlated with internet affinity. On the other hand, male have more internet affinity than that of their female counterparts.

The present study was aimed at assessing the attitude of undergraduate students towards yoga education. The study analyzed the data from 295 undergraduate students. Out of these, 161 students were male and 134 female. A questionnaire related to attitude towards yoga education was developed and standardized by the investigators and was used to collect responses from the students. The findings of this study revealed that there is no significant difference existing between male vs. female and rural college vs. urban college undergraduate students regarding their attitude toward yoga education. Another finding of this study also showed that there is no significant difference existing between arts and science undergraduate students regarding their attitude toward yoga education.

Society is dynamic. Changeability is a common nature of society. As a result of social change, ancient human society has transformed itself into an urban civilized human society. Urbanization is a form of social conversion from a traditional rural society to present urban communities. There is no doubt that people are now leaving rural life and gradually moving towards urban areas. Presently it is a big challenge for every individual. In general, urbanization refers to the shift of people from rural to urban areas, growing the promotion of people living in urban areas as compared to rural areas. The United Nations has suggested that by the end of 2008, half of the total population of the world will live in urban areas and it is predicted that by 2050, about 64 percent of developing nations and about 86 percent of the developed world will be urbanized. India is no exception. Most of the population in India presently live in rural areas and they also have to tend to move from rural to urban areas. If this large number of people leave the rural areas and move to urban areas without any proper planning, social problems will arise. The result of this is not always good. Thereafter this study aims to discuss the concept of urbanization and its impact on human life.

The degradation of values is one of the biggest problems of today's human civilization. But one of the main goals of modern education is to help students in their overall development and make them possess ideal lives. If we cannot prevent or control the erosion of these values, the future of human civilization is headed toward darkness. Today in the modern era of globalization, the inclination of our youth toward Western lifestyle and culture is natural. Its impact on individual life is not always positive but also negative. So controlling these decadent values is a big challenge for present human society. Values education is the only means through which we can check this erosion of values. Various types of social media such as WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram Continue to play an important role in the dissemination of values education. Various types of audio, videos, texts, documents, etc. are uploaded on these social media which help to inculcate values in an individual. Therefore, it is very important to know how social media continues to play an important role in promoting value education. So, with help of this present study, the researcher tries to explain the significance of social media and also explain how it promotes value education in today's society.

Today globalization is a common use term on everyone's lips. From two decades ago until today, this topic has fought the attention of many concerned people worldwide, including government, research scholars, the business community worldwide, economists, and others who have been conducting on the complex issues that are written around globalization. Globalization is a term used to describe how trade and technology have made the world a more connected and interdependent place. Globalization means the integration of world economies through cross country free of information, ideas, technologies, goods, services, finance and last but not least people. According to WHO, Globalization can be defined as "the increased interconnectedness and interdependence of people and countries. It is generally understood to include two interrelated elements: the opening of international borders to increasingly fast flows of goods, services, finance, people and ideas; and changes in institutions and policies at national and international levels that facilitate or promote such flows". It is clear to all of us that today globalization has affected the entire world in the contemporary era. Similarly, globalization has had a significant impact on Indian society. At present, the impact of globalization can be seen in various aspects of Indian society. But in the case of a developing country like India, the impact of globalization may not always be good. Excessive inclination towards globalization can lead to various problems in Indian society. With help of this present study, the researcher has tried to discuss the meaning, characteristics, and causes of globalization and its positive as well as negative impacts on Indian society.

Adjustment Ability Inventory is an inventory designed to measure the adjustment ability of an individual or a group of individuals. The present study was conducted to construct and standardize an adjustment ability inventory for higher secondary school students. A well-structured scale was administered among them. The sample consists of 200 higher secondary school students randomly selected from 2 higher secondary schools situated in Purulia District, West Bengal, India. Initially, it was constructed with 89 statements covering five dimensions related to adjustment ability, such as home adjustment, emotional adjustment, social adjustment, educational adjustment and health adjustment of higher secondary school students. The inventory was standardized using the 't'-test and finally, 66 statements were retained for the final study. The reliability and validity of this inventory were also determined by a specific procedure. The internal consistency or reliability of this inventory is 0.85. The present research discusses the development of the scale to measure the level of adjustment ability among higher secondary school students.

The need for the study of achievement motivation is important in the current situation. At present, students are focusing more on acquiring achievement in various fields. Their main goal in life is to become proficient in various fields of life. Various studies have shown that students' academic achievement largely depends on their achievement motivation. This is also regarded as an immediate aim of the current education. So, through this present descriptive survey type study, the investigators try to investigate the level of achievement motivation of undergraduate college students. "Achievement Motivation Scale" standardized by 'Been Shah' is used to collect responses from the students. The research population includes all undergraduate college students of Purulia district, West Bengal. Stratified random sampling technique was used. 147 undergraduate college students at different colleges affiliated to Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, Purulia, W. B., India were selected as sample and the data analysis has been performed through Microsoft excel. The finding of this study revealed that there is no significant difference existing between different demographic variables (gender, local of the students) of undergraduate college students regarding their level of achievement motivation.

Nowadays it is essential to establish peace in society for a healthy life. If it is not possible to establish peace, then this beautiful human civilization will destroy itself. Once upon a time "Lord Buddha" said in his philosophical thought that the main important cause of sadness and melancholy in human life is unconsciousness and wrong education. The lack of proper Education is the reason behind the misery in human life. So if we want to remove all the miseries of our life and establish peace in our life, then we have to go through the proper education. The teacher is the exponent who can establish peace in society through proper knowledge and proper education. A Teacher can work as an important agent of peace-building. Through this paper, the researcher is trying to show how the teacher will be able to establish peace in the minds of the students by removing the reasons for disturbance and unrest.

Education is the only tool through which values can be inculcated among the present generation as well as the future generation. Thereafter with the help of this study, the investigators try to measure the attitude towards value-oriented education among undergraduate students. Value-oriented education scale standardized by B. Yella Reddy (2004) is used to collect responses from the students. The research population includes all undergraduate college students of Purulia district, West Bengal. Stratified random sampling techniques were used. 149 undergraduate students at different colleges affiliated with Sidho Kanho Birsha University, Purulia, W. B., India were selected as a sample and the data analysis has been performed through Microsoft excel. An individual's social attitude is their attitude toward other people or things in society. Individual attitudes can become so deeply inter-conditioned by group interactions that they become highly standardised and consistent within the group. A person who is able to adjust to changes in their physical, occupational, and social environment is said to be in a state of adjustment. In other terms, the behavioural process of balancing opposing demands or needs that are thwarted by environmental impediments is referred to as adjustment. Animals and people both regularly adapt to their surroundings. I want to concentrate on the various facets of a social being in this essay, as well as how a social being adapts to different spheres of life while displaying his social views. Quality and excellence in teacher education is one of the major initiatives of the government of India. To achieve the better outcomes at all levels of education, government of India has been focusing on quality and excellence in teacher education. Because the quality of the outcomes of education is depends upon the quality of its teachers. Different studies are conducted in this perspectives and most of the studies reveled that there is a positive correlation exist between the quality of the outcomes of education and quality of its teachers. But now a day in India the quality of teacher education was decreased day by day due to some problems. If these problems are resolved in the field of teacher education, then maybe we can reach our determined goal. Through this research, the researchers trying to discuss the problems of teacher education and discuss its possible solution.

Internet has undeniable role in people’s life and misuse of it may cause several problems. The present study has investigated the effect of internet usage on social isolation of under graduate students. Stratified random sampling techniques were used. 257 under graduate students studying at different college affiliated to Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, Purulia, W.B., India were selected as sample. Social isolation questionnaire and internet usage scale were used to gather data from the samples. The data thus collected were analyzed using SPSS software (Version 17). The results indicate that high internet user are more socially isolated than that of average and low internet user whereas no significant difference exist on internet usage between humanities and science under graduate students. Pearson co-efficient of correlation between internet usage and social isolation is found to 0.326 indicating a positive relationship between the variables.

Inclusive education in the current education system is a relatively new idea. We know that inclusive education is such a kind of education system, which is an attempt to include all students under the same roof, irrespective of their race, religion, color, gender, and different kind of disability. One of the key objectives of inclusive education is to make every child healthy and strong physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. Census 2011 has shown that over 21 million people in India as suffering from one or the other kind of disability. It is our responsibility to bring these disabled people back to the mainstream of society. It is never possible to bring that huge number of children back into the mainstream of society by teaching them differently from general children. What is particularly helpful in this regard is inclusive education. Inclusive education is the only education system through which it is possible to fully develop the inherent potential of all children. But the problem is that people associated with different levels of education like teachers, administrator have no clear idea about this inclusive education as a result various problems arise during its application. But to bring this huge number of disabled people back to the mainstream of society, inclusive education is a very important instrument. Through this research, the researcher tries to explain the problems of inclusive education and their remedies from India's perspective.
