Entrepreneurs are considered as the ‘change agents’ in the process of industrial and economic development of a country. Entrepreneurial contributions are crucial, in developing countries like India. They aid employment generation, growth of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and per capita income, economic diversification, optimum utilization of local resources, improvement in standard of living, promoting export and import, new product and market development. Thus, the overall development of country intimately depends on entrepreneurial success. Entrepreneurial success is defined as a set of positive outcomes from utilization of internal human strengths guided by virtue (Seligman & Csikszentmihalyi, 2000). The scale used in this study to measure entrepreneurial success consists of two domains: financial wealth and
psychological measures of performance namely, entrepreneurial satisfaction, feeling of gratitude and entrepreneurial preparedness. From the lens of psychology, a lot more could be understood about entrepreneurial success and the fundamentals of entrepreneurial success (Frese & Gielnik, 2014). Entrepreneurial success is not just financial but also psychological. Entrepreneurial success depends on the fluctuation of psychological states, which determine behaviours amidst uncertainties, difficulties, changes and challenges in the dynamic environments. Psychological capital is formally defined as a higher-order construct derived from a constellation of motivation and behavioural tendencies associated with self-efficacy, hope, optimism and resilience (Luthans, Youssef et al., 2007). The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a pivotal role in the economic and social development of the country, often acting as a nursery of entrepreneurship. In India MSME sector has emerged as highly vibrant and dynamic over the last five decades. The sector contributes about 8% to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) besides 45% to the total manufacturing output and 40% to the exports from India (MSME at a Glance 2016 Report, MSME). The current research is conducted among local entrepreneurs owning MSMEs in Coimbatore. This is because Coimbatore is amongst the fastest growing tier-II cities in India and a major hub for textiles, industries, commerce, education, IT, healthcare and manufacturing in Tamil Nadu. Coimbatore houses more than 25000 micro, small, medium and large industries with the city’s primary industries being engineering and textiles. Coimbatore is called the “Manchester of South India” due to its extensive textile industry, fed by the surrounding cotton fields. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between psychological capital and entrepreneurial success of MSME’s in Coimbatore. The findings of the study could lead to more explorations of vital factors that lead to entrepreneurial success and intervention of psychological capital towards entrepreneurial success.

Knowledge is like light. Weightless and intangible, it can easily travel the world, enlightening the lives of people everywhere. Yet billions of people still live in the darkness of poverty (World Bank 1999).
The above quote sheds light on the significance of knowledge and the need to manage this vast knowledge for optimum utilization. In the last decade, knowledge management has emerged as a very successful organization practice and has been extensively treated in a large body of academic work. In today’s knowledge-based society and business, “knowledge” is seen as the main source of competitive advantage. It is often a fuzzy concept, with no direct referent in the real world. In order to conceptualize this, people use the synonym knowledge asset and view it as a strategy for attaining competitive advantage, that can be managed, evaluated, invested in, and that becomes one of the main sources of value creation within an organization. Such is the importance accorded to knowledge management in the today’s scenario that it has become a popular discipline even though the field is only 10 years old. From research perspective, knowledge management is a vast area that covers all aspects of knowledge creation, storage, sharing, development, and uses and maintenance. This chapter attempts to discuss about knowledge management as a theory which has evolved as a wholesome practice, various methods used in business for knowledge sharing and the various issues associated to knowledge management’s widening significance.
