- Frenzy is a Decepticon Mini-Cassette from the Generation 1 continuity family.
For Frenzy it's not about any "Decepticon cause": it's not about any quantifiable cause, or goal, or purpose at all. It's about violence, fear, destruction, and mayhem. Frenzy lives to fight. He lusts to destroy with an intensity that borders on insanity. War is his fuel, his oxygen. Despite his small stature he'll lead a charge into battle against robots many times his size, screaming for destruction with every microchip of his being. This single-minded obsession makes him a hard bot to associate with personally, but a frightening asset on the battlefield. His partner and brother, Rumble, is only too eager to back him up.
Frenzy's manic attack style and his "battle cry" (a sonic attack produced by special drums in his torso that can severely disrupt electrical flows, resulting in all sorts of mechanical malfunctions and balance issues) make him difficult to get close to in combat, but cool and measured reaction to his wild ragings is usually the most effective strategy.

Marvel The Transformers comics
Frenzy was among the Decepticons who attacked the Autobots' Ark four million years ago, and wound up trapped in stasis when the vessel crashed on Earth. The Transformers Cold Comfort and Joy! When the Transformers were reactivated as a consequences of a volcanic eruption in 1984, Frenzy declared that he would not rest until every Autobot had been destroyed, and departed the ship with his comrades. The Transformers The Decepticons soon attacked the Harrison Nuclear Power Plant to obtain the resources to build a fortress for themselves; Frenzy used his sonic powers to scramble distress calls by the plant personnel, ensuring the success of the Decepticons' mission. Power Play!
When the Decepticons kidnapped the Autobots' human friend Sparkplug Witwicky to devise a method of converting Earth fuel into a form suitable for them, the Autobots staged a rescue attempt. Frenzy and his brother Rumble met Sparkplug's would-be rescuers on the battlefield, and when his sibling fell to Brawn, Frenzy angrily turned his sonics on the tough little Autobot. Frenzy picked up his unconscious brother and took him back to the Decepticons' fortress for repair, but was tripped up along the way by a strand of webbing courtesy of Spider-Man, taking both brothers out of the fight. Prisoner of War!
Frenzy participated in the Decepticons' attack on Sherman Dam. Decepticon Dam-Busters! Later, when a failed coup by Starscream resulted in a trial by combat between him and Brawn, Frenzy was among the spectators of the battle. Ravage sabotaged the battle, shooting Starscream down, then told Frenzy it was the Autobots' doing, driving the little 'bot into a rage. He called for the Decepticons to strike back at the Autobots, and Megatron—who had staged the whole thing to bring exactly this situation about—agreed. The Enemy Within! The Decepticons proceeded to attack the Ark, during which battle Frenzy clashed with Gears, but they were soon stopped by the Ark's out-of-control artificial intelligence, Aunty. Raiders of the Last Ark
Rendered inoperative by his recent injuries, Frenzy was unable to participate in the Decepticons' subsequent major offensive against the Autobots. The Last Stand He was repaired after Shockwave took control of the Decepticons, and was assigned guard duty of the captured Ark alongside his brother. The New Order They briefly departed to help secure the seized Blackrock oil-drilling platform, but returned to the Ark to swear fealty to Shockwave after he put down an attempt by Megatron to retake power. The Worse of Two Evils! He then relocated to the Decepticons' latest captured facility, Blackrock Aerospace Assembly Plant Number One, where, after a few days of inactivity left him with a shorter temper than usual, Frenzy's anger boiled over when he overheard on the news that G.B. Blackrock had designed a new "Anti-Robot Photonic Multi-Cannon" to take back his plant. Shockwave had Buzzsaw quash Frenzy's his temper tantrum, after which Starscream stepped in and suggested a day out for mayhem and carnage would be good for troop morale. Together, Starscream and Frenzy staged an attack on the unveiling of Blackrock's new weapon, with Frenzy's sonic powers sowing havoc among the crowd. Autobots Jazz and Wheeljack, along with neophyte superhuman Circuit Breaker, counterattacked; struck by Wheeljack's magnetic inducer, Frenzy was crushed beneath a barrage of magnetically attracted objects, and Starscream retreated, carrying him away. DIS-Integrated Circuits! Christmas Breaker! He was in working order again in time for the Decepticons' next major battle with the assembled Autobots, when they had managed to take control of Optimus's body with a fake head. However, most of the 'cons were taken out single-handedly by Optimus Prime once his real head was reattached. Prime Time! Meanwhile, separated from the other Decepticons and lacking his higher brain functions, Megatron told the human Joey Slick the story of how his troops, including Frenzy, came to Earth. Shooting Star!Either Frenzy or Rumble participated in a petty attack on a human settlement. The Decepticons' personality were strangely inverted upon being hit by an energy blast, and they all became big softies, apologizing profusely as they cleaned up the mess they had made. Once the blast's effects wore off, the Decepticons swore revenge for what they assumed to be an Autobot trick, and tracked the blast's origin to England. Though Starscream found the device responsible, a human invention called the "PARD," it was destroyed before he could take off with it. To a Power Unknown!
When the Decepticons lured Bumblebee into a trap, Frenzy was among those who ambushed and captured him. Crisis of Command! Later, he was ordered to accompany Shockwave to the Decepticon's old fortress, where despite a supposed mission objective of "salvage", Frenzy could clearly see that Shockwave was on edge because of Megatron's rumored return. Eager to hit something to relieve his stress, Frenzy was soon given a chance when Buster Witwicky, sporting a robotic battlesuit, appeared on the scene, also looking for someone to beat up in order to prove his worth. Though shot in the back by the human, Frenzy easily shrugged off Buster's onboard weaponry, and in a blazing fury, unleashed the full force of his sonic powers on the human. Thinking he was shutting down his audio input, Buster actually activated an echo cell in his battlesuit that cancelled out and reflected Frenzy's sonic onslaught back at him, knocking him out. Robot Buster!
On a subsequent mission, Frenzy accompanied Megatron and several others in an attack on the unguarded Ark. Unfortunately, they ran into the Autobots' new defense system, Omega Supreme, who blasted Frenzy and several others into inactivity. Taken captive by the Autobots, his deactivated body was stored in a stasis capsule within the Ark. Command Performances! Frenzy did not remain a prisoner for long, however. When the Autobots were thrown into disarray by the arrival of the future Decepticon Galvatron, they overlooked the mechanical failure of the capsule holding Starscream, who escaped and set Frenzy and Thundercracker's capsules to awaken them before sneaking off to further his own agenda. Regaining consciousness, the confused pair immediately vacated the Ark and return to the Decepticons' Wyoming base, which they found to be deserted, save for Shockwave. No sooner had they updated their leader on their situation than all three Decepticons were shunted into the other-dimensional world of limbo by the arrival of the future Autobots Hot Rod, Kup and Blurr. Target: 2006
In this other world, the three Decepticons found themselves in the middle of a war between the technorganic ape-like Cloran and the evil Zenag, which Optimus Prime, Prowl and Ratchet had already become embroiled in. Frenzy killed several of the creatures with his sonic powers, earning a sock on the jaw from Prime; subsequently, when Zenag offered the Decepticons the means to return home in exchange for fighting the Autobots for him, Frenzy was once again laid out by the Autobot leader. When Prime refused to fight any further, the truth of their situation became apparent: the entire world was actually an illusion created by the neural parasites that dwelled in the void of limbo. As the illusion collapsed, a horrified and furious Frenzy tore the parasite that had seized him from his head and was about to reduce it to paste before Shockwave stopped him, wary that his actions might trigger a response. Distant Thunder! In short order, Frenzy and the others were all returned to their world when the time-travellers went back to the future.
When Megatron went missing after a failed assassination attempted mastermined by Shockwave, Frenzy was minding his own business when suddenly, in a flash of light, Megatron appeared in front of him, having teleported in across the space bridge. Distressed he called for Shockwave, but nobody suffered any repercussions, as the trip had addled Megatron's memories. Resurrection!
When the Autobots launched an attack on the Decepticons' island headquarters to rescue a recently captured Buster Witwicky, Shockwave converted the landmass into its rocket-ship mode and had it blast off into space. Frenzy was standing at the ready, within the ship's control room, as this took place. The Desert Island of Space!
Still in captivity by the Autobots since his defeat by Omega Supreme, the Constructicons rescued Frenzy and other Decepticons on orders from Ratbat. Totaled![1]
Marvel Generation 2 comic
Like most Decepticons, Frenzy fell under Bludgeon's command following the restoration of Cybertron, disappearing into deep space for a period of time. When Megatron returned to depose Bludgeon and retake leadership, Frenzy and Rumble immediately fell into place at his side, and went to work reviving and rebuilding Darkwing, who had not followed the brothers' example and had been all but destroyed by Megatron as a result. Tales of Earth Part Three Upon Optimus's arrival on the battlefield, Frenzy descended to the Earth's surface. He witnessed Megatron defeat Optimus Prime and use a siphon to drain off the power of the Matrix. Autobot reinforcements arrived before Megatron could finish off his adversary, and the Decepticons retreated rather than lose their means of bringing a new army of Decepticons to life. The Gathering Darkness When word of the Cybertronian Empire reached the Decepticons, Frenzy was among Megatron's forces who urged a violent response towards their "descendants." Much to his distress however, Jhiaxus's managed to strike first against them. In the ensuing conflict, the Decepticons were thoroughly defeated by their more advanced opponents. New Dawn
Frenzy was manning the bridge of the Decepticons' Warworld with Rumble and Soundwave when Jhiaxus's Cybertronian forces attacked it. Unable to mount a counterattack thanks to the combat sequencers having been disabled (courtesy of a treacherous Starscream), Total War! Frenzy was among the personnel who fled in an escape pod to the Earth below, where presently, he joined in the combined Autobot/Decepticon offensive against the Swarm. In final combat, Wheeljack cooked up a way to supercharge Frenzy's sonic powers to fend off their attacker, but as the Autobot scientist feared, the raw sonic energy proved too much for Frenzy's body to handle. Frenzy died with a smile on his face, reveling in the orgasmic excess of sound he was pumping out even as it overloaded his systems and destroyed him. A Rage in Heaven!

Frenzy first appeared amongst the Decepticons on Earth shortly after Cybertron was pulled into Earth's orbit, performing some repair work on the Decepticons' base following the damage it had suffered during the chaos. Voicing his discontent with the workload, he demanded Skywarp's job instead, prompting the Seeker to stomp on him. Frenzy seized Skywarp's descending foot and threw him into a wall, whereupon Rumble came to his bro's aid and started pummelling Skywarp in the face. Countdown to Extinction
Frenzy and Rumble were part of Megatron's attack on New York City, where they faced off against a group of Autobots in Central Park, toppling Ironhide with their piledrivers. Frenzy later tried to ram a train into Bluestreak and Hound, but his vehicle was blown apart before he reached them. City of Steel Later, the two siblings helped Megatron take control of a fleet of oil tankers by using circuit linker cards connected to TORQ III. Frenzy was then assigned to defend the force field generator around the oil platform where the Decepticons were emptying the tankers, but failed in this task when he was distracted by Spike and Skyfire, letting Hound sneak up and destroy the generator. Day of the Machines Very soon after, Frenzy took part in the Decepticon attack to steal the human-built ninja robot Nightbird, raining rapid-fire laser death down on the humans while Rumble used his pile drivers to shake things up. Enter the Nightbird
Frenzy and Rumble later accompanied Soundwave on a mission to secure the Negavator for the Decepticons. They failed, but not before A.) Frenzy single-handedly tackled Optimus Prime and B.) Rumble nearly disintegrated him with that oh so indiscriminate Negavator. All in all, a very interesting day for Frenzy. Auto Berserk Much later, he put in a brief appearance on the bridge of the Decepticons' outlandish mobile fortress, driving it alongside Rumble. Aerial Assault
In 2005, during the battle of Autobot City, Frenzy joined Rumble, Ratbat and Ravage in preventing Blaster's distress call to the Moonbases. Dismantling the Autobots' communications equipment by hand, the brothers and their comrades then broke into his broadcasting tower and swarmed him and Perceptor. They were repulsed when Blaster unleashed his Mini-Cassettes to even the score, and Frenzy got into a fistfight with Eject.
After Megatron was defeated, the Decepticons fled Earth aboard Astrotrain and Starscream tossed their injured commander into space, a fight for control of the army broke out. When Soundwave and the Constructicons got into an insult-slinging match, Frenzy and Rumble popped out of their boss to defend his honor, and shook the Constructicons apart with their piledrivers just as they were attempting to form Devastator. The Battle of the Star Gate
In the late 1990s, Starscream forged a clandestine alliance with the Prime Minister of Japan, promising that the country would be safe from attack by the Decepticons if they were allowed to freely and harmlessly collect energy within its borders, in secret from the rest of the world. Naturally, however, Starscream had no intention of actually honoring this agreement, and sent Frenzy and Rumble to the bottom of the sub-oceanic Japan Trench, where they used their piledrivers to stimulate the tectonic plates of the trench and cause small earthquakes throughout Japan. As Starscream predicted, the quakes supplied massive amounts of energy for the Decepticons to gather, but were perceived as natural occurrences by the populace. Megatron was not impressed by the scheme, however, suspecting the Autobots would soon realize the truth... and he was, of course, completely right. When Optimus Prime and a team of Autobots arrived to investigate and caught the Decepticons in the act, Megatron had Frenzy and Rumble kick things into overdrive, causing a catastrophic quake that devastated Tokyo and covered the Decepticons' escape. The quake was so powerful that it actually threatened to sink the entire island of Japan, but before that could come to pass, Hound confronted Frenzy and Rumble and overpowered them by confusing them with his holograms. The Headmasters cartoon
In the year 2011, when Soundwave was destroyed in battle with Blaster, Frenzy and all the other cassettes gathered on Chaar to watch as the Decepticon Headmaster leader Scorponok used the super-technology of the planet Master to resurrect their master as Soundblaster. The cassette team then helped to defend Soundblaster when he was focused on using a sonic control to remotely direct the actions of the Decepticons' new Madmachine, but Blaster—now reborn as Twincast—was able to get past them and stop his rival. The Great Cassette Operation
Some time later, either Frenzy or Rumble[2] was dispatched by Soundblaster to deal with Twincast's cassettes when the Autobot communicator came to Chaar to spy on the unveiling of Scorponok's Transtector. Explosion on Mars!! MegaZarak Appears
The arrival of Scorponok's new information officer, Counterpunch, put Soundblaster in a bad mood, as he had the ability to dredge up Autobot info that even Soundblaster and his expert team of spies could not. They had no idea, of course, that this was because Counterpunch was actually the undercover Autobot double agent Punch, but nonetheless, Frenzy and the other tapes consoled their boss and promised to try harder. Return of the Immortal Emperor
While on the planets of Twin Star, Soundblaster deployed Frenzy and Rumble to search for the energy supposedly hidden somewhere on the planet. Dinobots Strike Back
In one path, Frenzy was one of many Decepticons in their secret base in Mount Lomas, listening to Megatron's speech about how the black coral in nearby Dolphin's Bay would produce enough superfuel to triple their war-making capacity and crush the Autobots in just a few hours. As the speech wrapped up, Soundwave intercepted a radio transmission containing details on Operation Black Coral which Megatron just mentioned, and took Frenzy with him to investigate. They rushed through a nearby doorway to find Bumblebee, whom Frenzy promptly paralyzed with a sonic attack and just left in the underwater tunnel as a rusty warning to anyone else who might stumble across their secret base.
If Skids tried to radio Bumblebee from his mini-sub afterwards, Frenzy nailed it with a long range sonic attack as well, sending it out of control. In one possible subsequent path, Sludge churned up the water near where Bumblebee disappeared to bring him to the surface, then deposited the still-paralyzed Autobot on the opposite shore of the bay. He then resumed stomping to create a tidal wave that collapsed the side of the mountain, washing away many Decepticons including Frenzy, which immediately cured Bumblebee of his paralysis.
In an alternate path, the Decepticons foolishly invited four of the Dinobots to a premature mountaintop victory party, thinking they were still being controlled by cerebro-shells. Suddenly, Grimlock broke cover and ordered them to attack, then charged Frenzy, ripping him in half. It's not stated whether this freed Bumblebee of his paralysis as well, but it can be probably assumed.
In yet another alternate path, Frenzy was one of many Decepticons standing beside his leader on the mountaintop, doing nothing of note in the face of yet another Autobot victory. Dinobots Strike Back
Battle Drive
In one possible scenario, where Megatron and his troops had tracked down Sparkplug to a cave in the mountains, Frenzy was amongst the Decepticons present, ready to pounce on the human. Then a small squadron of Autobots arrived to rescue Sparkplug. In the event that Megatron was destroyed by Swoop, Frenzy, along with the rest of the Decepticons, were easily defeated by the Autobots. In the event that Swoop retreated, Frenzy was amongst the Decepticons who remained at the cave instead of pursuing the Dinobot. Frenzy stood next to Megatron in a military formation, along with Buzzsaw, Ransack, Shockwave, Skywarp and Thundercracker, while Megatron delivered his sanction to the Autobots in the cave; "Prepare to die!" The battle that ensued lasted for two full days before the Decepticons were ready to move in for the kill. In the event that Swoop returned in time with reinforcements, Frenzy and the rest of the Decepticons were forced to retreat.
In a completely different possible series of events, Frenzy was amongst the enormous army of Decepticons that Megatron led against Optimus's small squad of Autobots, once the Autobots had been lured out in the open farmlands. If Optimus decided to keep his troops together in one unit while trying to make a dash for a nearby bridge, Frenzy backed up Soundwave, along with Buzzsaw and Laserbeak, in the Decepticons' first attempt to stop them. Although this initial attempt as unsuccessful on the Decepticons' part, they nonetheless eventually managed to halt Optimus's progress and pulverized the Autobots.
In the event that Optimus decided to instead stay behind and provide cover fire while the rest of the Autobots drove to safety, Frenzy was one of the ten Decepticons who ganged up on Optimus all at once. If Jazz backtracked to rescue his commanding officer, Frenzy backed up in fear after seeing Soundwave, Bombshell and Starscream being defeated by the two Autobots, allowing the pair to escape. Desert Flight
Frenzy was part of a Decepticon deployment stationed in a desert base. The Decepticons plotted to lure the Autobots in a trap through the use of an anti-gravity beam. Using the beam on a nearby human settlement, the Autobots would be duped into coming to the fleshliness’ rescue, only to be themselves trapped by the effects of the beam.
In the event that the Autobots used a trojan ruse to infiltrate the Decepticon base, and the Decepticons’ forcefield was disabled, Frenzy and Ravage tackled Powerglide after the later had burst into the Decepticons’ base, guns ablaze, only for the two Decepticons to crash into one another when Powerglide ducked.Desert Flight
Decepticon Poison
Frenzy is one of the most dreaded of Decepticons! He also has a fighter jet alternate mode.
In one possible sequence of events, Frenzy accompanied Megatron in order to take out the recently poisoned Autobots. They found themselves fighting against the now-cured Autobots, but gained the upper hand early in the fight nonetheless. They were nonetheless force into a retreat when Optimus led a second squad of Autobots into battle.
In another possible scenario, Megatron and his Decepticon squad were tricked into thinking that the Autobots were already dead, and strode into the Autobots’ base. The Decepticons lay down their weapons in order to carry out the Autobots’ "corpses," but were ambushed once they had disarmed themselves. Frenzy and the others were then quickly defeated.
In another possible scenario, Frenzy was led by Ramjet in a full-scale Decepticon assault. The Autobots, having miscalculated on how much antidote they had taken to cure themselves of the Decepticons’ poison, found themselves falling apart, leading to an easy victory for the Decepticons.
In yet another possible scenario, the Autobots managed to weaponize the tainted fuel, took out the first wave of the Decepticons’ attack with the toxic fumes emitted from the liquid when burned. Frenzy and Laserbeak proceeded to attack in the second wave, diving right through the poisonous cloud to drop bombs onto the Autobots. The toxic fumes affected them shortly as well, and when the pair fell out of the sky, the rest of the Decepticons retreated.
In a different sequence of events, Frenzy was one of the many Decepticons who attempted to poison a water supply facility, in order to turn the nearby human population into mindless slaves. In one possible scenario that followed, he was shot down with a cluster bombby Powerglide, causing Frenzy to crash into the reservoir and release his poison supply into it anyways. Whoops. Decepticon Poison
Autobot Alert!
Frenzy was stationed at the Decepticons’ command centre, working as a guard to make sure the Decepticons’ latest plan to conquer the Earth went smoothly.
In one possible scenario, he later boarded Astrotrain as the Decepticon shuttle took off from the command centre, and bossed Laserbeak around some.
In a completely different possible scenario, Frenzy accompanied Galvatron on a campaign to retrieve an ancient sphere of cybertite that contained the secrets to an ancient Autobot power-booster. Learning that the sphere was located within a sunken ship off the California coast, Frenzy and the others headed for its location.
If they found the Autobots in the middle of retrieving it, the Decepticons destroyed both the ship and the sphere, and proceeded to rain superior Decepticon firepower upon their foes.
If the Decepticons found the coast deserted, they retrieved the ship themselves, using the might of Devastator.
If Ironhide, Brawn and Grapple attempted to snatch the ship away from the Decepticons, Frenzy and his comrades destroyed the ship and the sphere contained within to keep it out of Autobot hands. The Decepticons then proceeded to pin down the Autobots in their hiding spots, leaving the heroic robots at their mercy.
If Springer, Topspin and Seaspray executed their plan to retrieve the sphere from Decepticon clutches, they successfully distracted the evil robots for long enough to whisk the cybertite sphere back to Metroplex. Autobot Alert!
The Invisibility Factor
In one possible scenario, Frenzy was one of the Decepticons that happened upon Sarah Sanders’s ship when it landed in the desert. While Scavenger held the woman captive, Frenzy and the other Decepticons dragged the ship itself to a hidden location.
In another possible scenario, Frenzy and the other Decepticons happened upon Sarah Sanders's ship before any Autobots had come in contact with her. While Scavenger held the woman captive, Frenzy and the other Decepticons dragged the ship itself to a hidden location. In whichever scenario that followed, the Autobots managed to steal the Invisibility Device from the Decepticons, either dazzling Frenzy and the others with their headlights while Hot Rod took the device right out of their hands, or tricking him and most of the other Decepticons into leaving the spaceship behind while they pursued the young Autobot on a wild goose chase. The Decepticons did not succeed in catching Hot Rod no matter what scenario ensued. The Invisibility Factor
Dreamwave Generation One continuity
Frenzy was one of the earliest recruits into Megatron's Decepticons over nine million years ago, apparently associated with Soundwave and his cassettes from the very beginning. Shortly after the appointment of Optimus Prime, Frenzy took part in the major Decepticon offensive against Iacon, defending one of Cybertron's planetary turbines against Autobot incursion alongside Long Haul, Thrust and Hook. The War Within #6 In later years, Frenzy served under Shockwave's command during the Dark Ages as part of the main Decepticon faction. Assigned to guard Shockwave's lab alongside Rumble, the pair were counting up Autobot casualties when one of the lab's machines suddenly exploded. They managed to convince Shockwave that it wasn't their fault, but as they went back to their counting game, another machine similarly blew up. The Age of Wrath Pt.3
Frenzy was a member of the Nemesis crew when it departed Cybertron in pursuit of the Autobots' Ark four million years ago. Crash-landing on Earth, the Transformers were trapped in stasis until a volcanic eruption awoke them in 1984, and their battle continued on the new world they found themselves on. More than Meets the Eye #8 Though not specifically seen or mentioned as one of them, Frenzy was presumably among those defeated Decepticons placed aboard the Ark II for a return flight to Cybertron. The Ark II was sabotaged by Robert Hallo and Adam Rook and exploded mid-flight, but Frenzy was not in evidence among the Transformers salvaged and restored by Rook.
Frenzy at last resurfaced in 2003, participating in a battle between the Autobots and Decepticons in the Arctic. This fight was interrupted by an unexpected visit from Cybertron—Shockwave and Ultra Magnus working side by side in a unified Cybertronian government. When Shockwave subdued Megatron, Rumble and Frenzy fell under his command, and were assigned watch over their unconscious ex-leader in the hold of the ship that was taking them all back to Cybertron. When Starscream jettisoned Megatron's body into space, the two brothers were nearly sucked out along with him, but managed to cling on to each other and stay aboard the ship. New World Order Once back on Cybertron, Shockwave gave the pair a chance to atone for their failure, dispatching them to surreptitiously free the psychopathic Stunticons from the Detention Banks in order to distract Magnus and the Wreckers from his true motives. They accomplished their mission, but were caught in the act by Starscream Cold War and shanghaied to help liberate the Combaticons for Starscream's own plans. With Soundwave's assent, Frenzy and the rest of the Nemesis crew agreed to follow Starscream back to Earth and pillage and plunder its energy resources. Things did not go quite as planned, though, as Frenzy was the first to realize that the ship they were departing in was actually the Autobot Sky Lynx. Revelation
Subduing Sky Lynx, Frenzy and the rest of Starscream's "brigade" were able to return to Earth and reoccupy their old underwater base. After Starscream went missing during a subsequent escapade involving Sunstorm, Frenzy and Rumble busied themselves by seeing which of them could shoot the most fish swimming in the waters around their headquarters. When Starscream returned, Frenzy rushed off to warn Soundwave, who had since made contact with the missing Megatron. Infestation A short time later, Frenzy and Rumble were at Soundwave's side to welcome Megatron back to their base, the two brothers opening the doors to allow their leader access. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers
Frenzy was one of the many Transformers recovered from the crashed Ark by Cobra. He was repaired and retrofitted by Doctor Mindbender, who proudly displayed him, Soundwave, and his fellow Mini-Cassettes to Destro. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #2 Frenzy was released by Soundwave, along with Laserbeak, Rumble, Ratbat, and Ravage, during an attack on the SPS Center. Frenzy was the first of the Battle Android Troopers to fall when Sci-Fi fired a laser through his head. His body was taken into custody by G.I. Joe. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #3
Two years later, Frenzy was back on Cybertron under the command of Shockwave. When Teletran 3 malfunctioned, sending Transformers of both factions throughout Earth's timeline, Shockwave had his troops encircle the super-computer. Ultra Magnus kept it safe within a force-field, forcing Frenzy and the others to wait around until his power supply ran out. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers II #2
Transformers/G.I. Joe
Frenzy was among the Decepticons that were pressed into the service of Cobra in 1938. When G.I. Joe attacked Cobra's base on the Fera Islands the following year, Frenzy was guarding the airfield. He found Beach Head trying to sneak into the air control tower, and attacked the soldier when he didn't know the password. Beach Head attempted to electrocute Frenzy, but the Decepticon was unimpressed, responding that he always enjoyed that humans had something Autobots don't—a capacity for pain. Wolves During the fight, Frenzy was lured out on the airfield, where Beach Head poured airplane fuel on him. Grunt then opened fire on the airplane's fuel tank, causing an explosion that heavily damaged Frenzy and enveloped him in flames. Defiant till the end, Frenzy got back up, sneering at the "meat" trying to cook him, but the Joes continued to pepper him with bullets until he went down. Trenches

Frenzy was one of the absurd amount of minions Soundwave ejected out of his chest, all in a row, in preparation for a fight. When Rumble refused to come out (since he now had all the leg-room inside Soundwave's chest to himself!) Frenzy shot him back a disapproving look.
Later, Runamuck had Frenzy repaint him black so as to pass for Runabout, in a ploy to avoid punishment for his latest failure. Lil Formers

- First appearance: Megatron Origin #1
Millions of years ago, Frenzy and Rumble were working together as "industrial equipment" on Mining Outpost C-12, harvesting energon veins for Cybertron. When their employment was terminated by the Senate in favor of automation, a riot broke out among the miners, and they were taken into custody. With the aid of their fellow miner Megatron, however, Frenzy and Rumble hijacked the shuttle transporting them to prison, and the trio fled into the bowels of Kaon. Megatron Origin #1 There, they became participants in an underground deathsport tournament fronted by Clench, fighting alongside him in the arena. After Megatron killed Clench and took control of the gladiatorial circle, Frenzy and Rumble accompanied him to a meeting with Soundwave, a representative of Senator Ratbat, who wished to help foster the public unrest Megatron was fomenting. The meeting was observed by council spies Bumper and Fastback; Rumble and Frenzy held down Bumper so Megatron could interrogate him. Megatron Origin #2
As part of Megatron's growing plans, Frenzy and Rumble were modified to lose their vehicle modes and instead fit inside Soundwave's chest compartment. They were not too happy with this, but didn't dare to protest against Megatron's orders. Megatron Origin #3 It was in these new forms that they were able to enact Megatron's "Trojan Horse" scheme, smuggled into the Senate facilities inside Soundwave where they helped assassinate the Senators, free arrested gladiators, and acquire an armory's worth of weapons for all. Megatron's forces began to lay waste to the city, and at the uprising's climax, Frenzy and Rumble watched their leader defeat Sentinel Prime. Megatron Origin #4
As Megatron's "Decepticon" movement continued to grow, Frenzy accompanied Soundwave on a mission to spy on Zeta Prime. Discovered by Orion Pax and fleeing, Soundwave deployed Frenzy in a crowded marketplace, where the little 'bot used his sonic vibrations to instill panic and fear amongst the civilians present, causing the crowd to turn on Pax. Making use of this distraction, Soundwave managed to reach the borders of Kaon before Orion caught up and shot Frenzy. The Hunt for Soundwave No long after, when Scorponok usurped Decepticon leadership, having exiled Megatron to Junkion, Frenzy and Swindle were a bit confused since they thought Junkion was just a myth. Wreckage
Frenzy was apparently not with Soundwave when he visited Earth in 1984 and was trapped in his alternate mode, but he eventually reconnected with him and the rest of the Decepticon detachment on Earth by 2007, when the villains tricked and defeated the Autobots on the planet. All Hail Megatron #7 With the Autobots exiled back to the dead Cybertron, the Decepticons declared open warfare on the human populace. Faced with hundreds of armed troops on the Great Lawn of New York City's Central Park, Soundwave unleashed Frenzy, who, driven insane by millions of years of exposure to his own sonic vibrations, single-handedly annihilated the entire human detachment. All Hail Megatron #2
After the Autobots returned and drove the Decepticons from Earth, Frenzy was one of the unfortunates left stranded on the planet. Left abandoned for two years, his tenuous mental condition deteriorated even further, and he began talking to himself and engaged in regular cattle mutilation and slaughter. He was tagged for capture by Skywatch, and they sent their new allies, Bumblebee and the Autobots, to detain the crazed Mini-Cassette. Frenzy was captured and turned over to the humans. The Hanging Sword
Despite his capture by Skywatch, contrary reports place Frenzy on the asteroid on which the destitute Decepticons had holed up, assisting Soundwave and Shockwave as they built a new body for Megatron. Altered Carbon Four months later, Frenzy accompanied Soundwave back to Earth and attacked a Skywatch base holding a number of captured Decepticons. Frenzy used his sonic attack to bring the pain to Brawn, Silverstreak and Ultra Magnus. The Demolished Man Later at the Decepticon base, he was amongst those who prepared to watch a fight between Optimus Prime and Megatron, and was presumably caught in the blast when Prime ended the fight early by having a satellite dropped on the base. Enemy Mine
After the Chaos Event ended the war, Frenzy stayed on Cybertron as the Autobots and NAILs tried to rebuild their society. While many Decepticons tried to become part of the new world, Frenzy stuck by Soundwave and Shockwave, who were actually in contact with the missing Megatron, and putting a plan in place to re-ignite the war. When the time came, they used their mind-controlled minion Prowl to stage their apparent deaths, so they could put the final pieces of their plan into place in absolute secrecy, though Prowl's catspaw Arcee did it in the most violent way possible, incapacitating them all by blowing up the pen in which they were living. The End of the Beginning of the World
Relocated to the Black Room, Frenzy was upgraded into a new body with a tank alternate mode The Verge and took to the streets as the Decepticons put their plans into motion. His new body duplicated the power of his sonic attacks, but unfortunately for him, he hadn't realized the effectiveness of sound waves depend on the thickness of the atmosphere. He learned that lesson after Ironhide easily waded through his attack and clocked him. Plan for Everything After the battle was over, all Autobots and Decepticons who wouldn't renounce their factions were banished into the wilderness, including Frenzy. Heavy Is the Head
Frenzy fought beside Soundwave when Blitzwing and Astrotrain challenged his claim for leadership of the Decepticons, Shockpoint and went with Soundwave to Crystal City to confront Shockwave, hiding in Soundwave's chest with the other cassettes until Soundwave let them loose in order to catch the traitorous scientist off-guard. The regenerative properties of the Ore-14 in the city soon made any fighting pointless, and Soundwave's party retreated. Soundwaves When the Necrotitan appeared on Cybertron's surface and unleashed its death-wave, Frenzy was heavily affected as his whole body began to corrode away. Into the Abyss Thanks to Metroplex's "life-wave," Frenzy managed to recover Finis Temporis just in time to do some drinking and singing at Swerve's. The Becoming Frenzy helped Soundwave and his fellow cassettes in defending Cybertron against the Ammonites, Black Planet and looked up to watch when the Lost Light came back from Crystal City. ...And the Damage Done
Frenzy wound up as a member of Soundwave and Galvatron's new Decepticons, Full Fathom Five and went to Earth with the rest of them. Following Soundwave and Galvatron's meeting with the leadership of the Earth Defense Command, Frenzy watched as Galvatron slammed Rumble into a wall in anger. The Mind Bomb When the Decepticons and EDC ambushed the Autobots together at Thundercracker's homestead, Frenzy and Rumble attacked Kup together. Detonation Boulevard Frenzy then participated in the battle against the Autobots on Bikini Atoll. I Dream of Wires
Frenzy was quick to say he and some other Decepticons would be glad to help Galvatron after he interrupted a card game they were playing to invite them along in going after Spike Witwicky. Signals, Calls, and Marches Frenzy and Rumble waited in a Tokyo back alley in their brand-new motorcycle alt-modes for Witwicky and Jimmy Pink, who were on the run from Prowl and the Constructicons, to use them to try and escape. Frenzy and Rumble instead brought them to the waiting Galvatron, with Frenzy warning Spike not to provoke his brother. Vs. Frenzy then fought the Constructicons and wasn't too enthused when Jimmy tried to teach him and the other Decepticons how to play Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. ONoffON Frenzy helped Jimmy in saving Spike from the raging Devastator during the combiner's attack on an Onyx-owned Wanmu facility, and asked Galvatron about retreating. He, Rumble, and Ayana Jones then brought Spike and Jimmy to Galvatron and Marissa Faireborn as prisoners. The Onyx Interface Conclusion: The Obliterati
Following the crash-landing of the Decepticon-occupied Ark-7 in Shanghai, Frenzy was one of those there to greet Galvatron's new soldiers. Perihelion During the subsequent battle with Optimus Prime and his own soldiers, Frenzy was left stunned by the EDC's mindbomb. Once Upon a Time on Earth Fortunately, he managed to get on board the Peace Without Tyranny. During the trip back to Sanctuary Station, Frenzy and Rumble explained to new Decepticon Swift all about how Optimus was not a true Prime, but just another oppressor. New Worlds Order Frenzy was present when Soundwave and Optimus's new alliance discussed plans to launch an underwater assault on the Nemesis, It's Beginning To And Back Again and when this attack went south following Galvatron's use of the Onyx interface to control the Seeker clone combiners and create some new ones, Frenzy and Rumble decided to hang back as the various combiners beat on Superion. After Superion ended up prevailing, Frenzy and Rumble came out of hiding to pat each on the back on what excellent work they had done. As Above...So Below
Rumble and Frenzy were still being evacuated from the ocean with the others when Earth Defense Command launched a strike on the recovering Cybertronians. White Light They briefly fought back before Sky Lynx led a retreat by the wounded. White Heat
Never ones to stay out of trouble, Rumble and Frenzy became secret arms dealers, in violation of the Tyrest Accord and...well, just about everybody's good sense. They stockpiled the confiscated and discarded weapons brought aboard Sanctuary Station and arranged to bring them to Earth. Using holomatter avatars, they began selling Cybertronian weaponry to humans who felt they needed to protect themselves from the alien threat. To Walk Among the Chosen Primeless, Part 2
Meanwhile, Soundwave requested their aid on an infiltration mission when the Junkions arrived on Earth. Rumble and Frenzy had lost some respect for Soundwave since he started hanging out with Autobots and the Prime, but they were bored, so whatever. They joined Sanctuary's resident Autobot Cosmos in entering the Junkion ship to determine the scope of their forces, but ran afoul of a tank of Sharkticons. Behind My Bleeding Back They were overwhelmed by the marauding hordes. Dance Among the Shadows Fortunately, Soundwave managed to talk down the Sharkticons when the Junkions attacked Earth with them, pacifying even the ones facing Rumble and Frenzy. They tried to escape the Junkion ship, but ducked for cover when they saw Arcee facing off against Wreck-Gar, with no desire to face her blades again. Still, when the wall of the ship was ripped open and everyone was revealed, they totally claimed they were good guys and were helping the whole time! Honest! Feel Safe Without Regrets
Rumble and Frenzy's gunrunning scam was eventually uncovered by Jazz and the Colonist Autobots working with Aileron. The political ramifications worked to their advantage, though, as the Autobots couldn't figure out how to punish them without making things worse on Earth for Cybertronians. Aileron reluctantly decided to bury the information, letting the Cassettes off scot free. Primeless, Part 2 Rumble and Frenzy moved on to movie production, trying to create a blockbuster action movie called Dark Invasion under their company title, Tape Bros. It bombed so bad at the box office, the market was ruined for Thundercracker's biopic on Starscream. Starscream: The Movie Some time later, when Unicron invaded Earth, the pair reluctantly took up arms against the planet-eater's invading Maximal hordes in São Paulo with Strongarm. Ceremony

Frenzy was aboard Soundwave when he, Shockwave and Starscream traveled from Cybertron to Earth to demand the humans surrender to Megatron. Frenzy, Laserbeak and Ravage met with the representative of their G.I. Joe welcomers, Hawk, who made it clear that Earth had no intent of surrendering. This led to a battle which culminated with the Decepticons' defeat. As Frenzy and Laserbeak made their escape from the battleground, they were snatched up by a Cobra airship, and offered sanctuary by the Serpentress. I Saw Three Ships
Now part of the Decepticobra alliance, Frenzy came across Duke skulking about within Decepticobropolis. He restrained the Joe and informed him that he planned on taking revenge for Soundwave's recent demise. But as Frenzy spoke, Duke stuffed a bomb inside his mouth. The explosive killed Frenzy, and Duke made good on his escape. Form Follows Function

Renegade Rhetoric
Frenzy was one of a number of rogue Decepticons who kidnapped their universe's Optimus Prime before fleeing to a parallel universe, where they stole a number of human inventions for the express purpose of upgrading themselves into Go-Bots. With their new bodies, they were able to outfight the Autobots sent to rescue their leader, then used a stolen Brainwave Scanner to turn Optimus into the evil Nemesis Prime. Renegade Rhetoric (2), 2016/05/12
Nemesis was not content to be a mere soldier in Megatron's thrall, however; after turning Frenzy and Crash Test to his side, he and his new followers went their own way. The trio launched an attack on Jasper, Nevada to steal the D-5 supertrain, and in the ensuing clash Frenzy's sonic powers overwhelmed Trailbreaker's force fields. Nemesis Prime took the human Kelly prisoner; although his two minions urged him to kill her, the crisis of conscience reawakened his true personality, and the Autobot leader promptly disposed of the Decepticons. Frenzy and Crash Test then took a group of human scientists hostage—the seemingly-helpless humans were in fact disguised operatives of the People's Liberation Army Paranormal Taskforce, who incapacitated the Cybertronians with electro-disruptors and captured them. Frenzy was originally a miner, but later transferred to Cybertron's Intelligence division, and had worked with Hoist once or twice. The Change In Your Nature Part One Eventually, Frenzy and Rumble both joined The Rise as part of a larger plan to affect change on Cybertron. The Cracks Beneath Your Feet Part Five Hidden in a network of secret bunkers and abandoned Threefold Spark bases, The Rise did its best to illegally procure energon through various sources, and at one point Frenzy was part of a team sent to steal energon from the energon transmission station near Iacon. Under unclear circumstances, Frenzy panicked during the raid and, whether deliberately or by accident, murdered Brainstorm, the station's operator, by impaling him on his drills. Rise of the Decepticons: Tremors
When the murder went public, Rise leader Shockwave hid Frenzy away; as the political situation on Cybertron continued deteriorating, he would later be joined by Quake as two of the most wanted members of the organization. Swindle's Security Operations would eventually piece together Frenzy as the most likely suspect, The Change In Your Nature Part One and eventually put out a warrant for his arrest. Swindle's

War's End Part Two Rumble and Frenzy found their targets in the tunnels, just as Exarchon launched his drill to usurp the Allspark itself with his unique abilities. The infiltration troopers grabbed Soundblaster and pursued the Autobots, who were in turn pursuing the drill. In the lower levels of Cybertron they fought with the Autobots until Zetar destroyed the drill, ending Exarchon's plans. The drill's destruction started a cave-in, bringing down the roof in that area. Frenzy was trapped under some debris as the area collapsed around them. He pleaded for help, but the Autobot Landmine remembered Frenzy had been responsible for killing Brainstorm, setting in motion the escalation of events that followed. He decided that buried and forgotten was exactly where Frenzy deserved to be, and left the trooper to his fate. War's End Part Four
My Little Pony/Transformers
After Soundwave arrived in Equestria, he ejected several minions to scout out the area, including Frenzy. The Decepticons encountered Fluttershy and Discord; though many of the other cassettes quickly befriended the compassionate pony, Frenzy had no patience for her and promptly smacked her around—a move that drew the ire of Discord, their animal friends, and even the other Decepticons. After a short fight, Soundwave and Frenzy decided to befriend the Equestrians instead, and enjoyed some time playing together. Pet Sounds
After returning to Cybertron, Frenzy developed an affinity for pony culture and took to reading a book Fluttershy had given him during their last encounter, though other Decepticons like Breakdown didn't understand his new interest. When Megatron hatched a new scheme to steal the magic of Equestria and bring it to Cybertron, the Decepticons brought back a crystal that contained King Sombra's magical essence. During a skirmish between the ponies and Decepticons, Twilight Sparkle's magic released the evil king, who put a number of Decepticons, including Frenzy, under his mind-control spell. Notes
- According to his toy's bio, he "Can roll his drums to produce high-pitch, grating sound of 200dB." This is about 100 times as loud as the famous Krakatoa volcanic eruption, which was audible 3,000 miles away. It's also six decibels louder than the 194 dB that is usually quoted as the maximum sound limit in Earth's atmosphere. However, that 194 dB limit assumes one is at sea-level and that the temperature is zero degrees Celsius. A sound of 200 dB is theoretically achievable on Earth under higher-pressure conditions (such as below sea-level) or at sub-zero temperatures.
- An early character bio for Frenzy published in The Transformers Comics Magazine gave him the nickname of Maddog.
- Sunstreaker's character model in Frenzy's colors is seen retreating with the Decepticons at the end of "Attack of the Autobots". Frenzy himself does not otherwise appear in the episode, making the actuality of his appearance in it arguable.
- Sunbow casting documents indicate that "Frenzy" was originally considered as a name for the Terrorcon, Rippersnapper, but was dropped—presumably because that name was already in use.
- The Rumble/Frenzy head design was used as the basis for the head of Freezon, the Decepticon Tyco Electric Racing Set car.
- According to the cardbacks of Generation 2 figures, the Go-Bots version of Frenzy was originally planned to be in red... which would've just added more fuel to the FIBRIR/FIRRIB debates.[3]
- As with most other cameo Kreons, Frenzy uses existing Kre-O parts to make up his build: he uses the Hound helmet, the Onslaught twin cannon backpack and Kreon legs for arms in homage to Rumble's pile-driver arms (The Japanese dub of The Transformers corrected the whole FIRRIB/FIBRIR issue by swapping the names, turning Rumble into Frenzy to make him consistent with the toy naming).
- Like almost all Japanese fiction or toys, he is blue. His Kreon figure is red (well, black, but that's what anyone really means by saying he's red).
