In this paper Dick Davis tries to explain the reasons behind the  difficulty in translating classical Persian poetry in general and Hafiz in  particular. He divides the problems into two categories: the linguistic  and the cultural problems. Lack of exact synonyms especially for
idioms, puns and lack of rhyme in English belong to the first category.  The lore of Shi’i Islam, the prevalence of the cult of pederasty in  Persian poetry, difference in the pattern of the poems and the language of panegyric in Persian poetry belong to the second category. Davis concludes his paper with the following sentences:  And this is why the poets who seem to develop a poetry’s capabilities most tellingly, who seem to their linguistic communities to be the most “poetic” of all, are often precisely those whom it is most difficult to bring over into  another language. Certainly, in Persian literature, the example of Hafiz, and  of the numerous poor poet-translators who metaphorically lie bleeding at  his feet, would seem to bear this out. (B. M. & M. H.)

از کوروش گفته‌ها بسیار است ولی آموخته‌ها اندک. شاید بزرگترین پندی که بتوان از کوروش آموخت این نکته باشد؛ که «چگونه می‌توان به تاریخ خود یک معنی داد»؟ به گفته‌ای دیگر: دوران کوروش برجسته کردن این نکته است، که «اگر بتوان آنچه را که از تاریخ آموخته می‌شود، برای بهینه کردن مدیریت آینده‌ی خود بکار بست، این همان معنی دادن به تاریخ است». انسان برده‌ی (جبر) تاریخ نیست، بلکه شکل‌دهنده و سازنده‌ی آن است. بنا بر این «پرمعنی‌ و یا بی‌معنی» بودن تاریخ یک سرزمین نیز، نتیجه‌ی میزان کنش انسانی در سازماندهی بهینه‌ی آینده‌ی آن با درس‌آموزی از گذشته‌ی بشری است. اما این آموزش کوروش در کردار چگونه شکل گرفت؟ برای شناخت این پروسه باید نگاهی کوتاه به پروسه‌ی گسترش فرمانروایی کوروش در فراسوی مرزهای آغازینش بیافکنیم

فرض ما در پژوهش پیش رو این است که تنها با غزلی (رو سر بنه به بالین ...) رو به رو هستیم و هیچ آگاهی-ای پیرامون شرایط سروده شدن آن نداریم. این که این غزل واپسین سروده¬ی مولانا است یا خیر؟ خطاب¬های آن به کدام شخص حقیقی تاریخی بر می¬گردد؟ پیام¬های آن به کدام رویدادهای لحظه¬ای در زمان سرودن می-تواند برگردد؟  و ... موضوع پژوهش ما نیست. از نگاه ما شعری پیش روی ماست که در بستر سنت شعری و روایت¬گری عرفانی سروده شده است. بنابرین آن چه از آگاهی¬های ما پیرامون این سروده به یاری ما می¬آید، کاربرد اصطلاحی هر یک از واژه¬ها و نشانه¬های این شعر با توجه به زمان تألیف اثر، بستر سنتی که اثر در آن شکل گرفته و نیز منظومه¬ی فکری و واژگانی سراینده¬ی این شعر است.

هذا الكتاب يتضمن فقط الحكم والامثال للمؤلف الشهير المثنوي الذي يقع في ست مجلدات وهو ديوان شعري يحاكي معاناة الانسان وصولا الى حبه الاعظم في الله جل وعلا.
جلال الدين الرومي شخصية دينية صوفية كانت تنهل من القرآن الكريم ثم تلهم هذه المعاني والافكار والامثال والحكم في كتاباته.
علمنا القرآن الكريم بتوضيح بعض الامور من خلال الامثال، فالمثل يضرب لشيء غامض فيجعل من خلاله المعقول يتساوى مع المحسوس.
والامثال نوعان منها ما يصلح لكل زمان ومكان ولا تتغير الا بأختلاف الضمير والنوع الاخر ما يصلح لفترة معينة لحاجة أجتماعية تفرضها ظروف سياسية او أجتماعية او أقتصادية او ثقافية.

الحكم والامثال التي وردت في شعر جلال الدين الرومي ذات طبيعة أنسانية خالدة تحرص عليها البشرية في كل عصر.
ففي حديثه حول الروح وحنينها الدائم الى الله يقول تحت عنوان أنشودة الناي:
أستمع للناي كيف يقص حكايته! إنه يشكو من آلام الفراق فالناي ينطق ويقول: إنني منذ قطعت من منبت الغاب، والناس رجالآ ونساءً يبكون لبكائي .. إنني أنشد صدرآ مزقه الفراق حتى أشرح له ألم الاشتياق. فكل أنسان أقام بعيدآ عن أصله، يظل يبحث عن زمان وصله."

أن العناصر الفنية للبيان الذي أستخدمه جلال الدين الرومي كان بيانآ خاصآ مستمدآ من القرآن الكريم والحديث الشريف والشعر العربي فكانت حكمه وأمثاله دليلا للانسان الذي يبحث عن طريق صحيح لفهم ألغاز الدنيا ويستطيع من خلالها أن يعي كيف يربط بين الدنيا والدين والواقع والغيب.

اتترككم مع مجموعة مختارة من بعض أمثاله وحكمه.

إذا أصبح قلبك مقبرة لسرك، عجل ذلك بتحقيق مرادك.

إن حس الدنيا سلم لهذا العالم، وأما حس الدين فهو سلم السماء.

ولما كان كثير من الأبالسة يظهرون في صورة الانسان، فليس يليق بالمرء أن يمد يده لكل يد.

فلو امتلأ العالم بالثلج من أقصاه الى أقصاه، فإن حرارة الشمس تصهر ذلك الثلج كله بلفحة واحدة منها.

الضمآن يعجبه السراب، ولكنه حين يصل اليه يهرب منه ويبحث عن الماء.

فالطفل ما لم يشتد ساعده ويقو على الجري فليس له من مركب سوى عنق أبيه.

حينما يكون القلم هواء والدفتر ماء فسرعان ما يفنى كل ما تكتبه.

إن عذر الاحمق أقبح من ذنبه، وعذر الجهلاء هو السم الذي يقتل المعرفة.

فيا أيها الذي يحفر بئرآ من الظلم ،، إنك لتنصب لنفسك شركآ.

إن الحياة تآلف بين الاضداد وما الموت الا قيام للحرب بينها.

لو طلب الامان ضعيف من أهل الارض لثار لنجدته جيش السماء.

كل من خاف الحق واختار التقى تهابه الانس والجن وكل من يراه.

أيها اللسان إنك كنز لاحد له ،، كما أنك ألم لاعلاج له.

إن الطفل حين يولد يكون في أول الامر رضيعآ ويبقى مدة من الزمن صامتآ وكله آذان.

ما أظلم هؤلاء الناس الذين يغلقون عيونهم وبكلامهم يحرقون عالمآ بأسره.

لتقم سدآ امام السيل أذا فاض والا فأنه يحدث العار والخراب.

أيها الجمل ،، أن فوق ظهرك حملا من الورد ومن نسيمه قد نبت فيك مائة بستان.

أن كل من عرض حسنه في المزاد يتجه نحوه مائة قضاء سيء ،، فأعداؤه يمزقونه غيرة منه وأصدقاؤه ينهبون أيام حياته.

أذا كان الرجل في الظاهر غالبآ للمرأة كالماء للنار، فأنه في الباطن مغلوب طالب لها.

أن النساء يغلبن العقلاء وأصحاب القلوب.

ادیان نیز همچون هر پدیده‌ای در جهان، همواره دستخوش دگرگونی بوده‌اند، حتا اگر  این دگرگونی در نما و یا نام آنها بازتاب بایسته را نیافته باشد. اسلام دورانِ عباسیان، این اسلام امروزی، اعم از گونه‌ی شیعه و یا سنی آن نیست. مسیحیت اولیه نیز مسیحیت امروزی، حال در شکلِ هر فرقه و مرامی، نمی‌باشد. بنابراین؛ دگرگونی و دگردیسیِ «روان» آدمیان الزاماً همیشه به‌صورت پیدایش یک دین جدید نبود، کما اینکه شکلها و نامهای ادیان جدید نیز گویای «نو بودن» آنها نبودند. بعنوان نمونه هنگامیکه ما از ادیان "مختلف" ابراهیمی سخن می‌گوییم، تنها از دگرگونی‌هایی سخن می‌گوییم، که بنا بر شرایط زیستی، اقتصادی، جغرافیایی، سیاسی، اجتماعی و فرهنگی جدید در یک دین پای گرفته و خود را تحت نامهای تازه، و سدالبته منتسب به یک پیامبر جدید – که طبیعتاً همیشه "برحق" بوده است - معرفی می‌نمودند. این دگرگونی‌های نوین در یک ایدئولوژی - در پی توجیه وجودی خود - در برخی شرایط آنچنان با ریشه‌های خود فاصله می‌گرفتند، که در نهایت باعث درگیری و دشمنی عریان - ولی سطحیِ – آنها با سلف معنوی خود می‌گردیدند. ناگزیری این درگیری از آنرو یک امر طبیعی می‌نمود، چرا که بدون آن، اساساً "چرایی" پیدایش دین جدید بی‌پاسخ می‌ماند. اینچنین است جایگاه مسیحیت رومی نسبت به یهودیت پیش از خود و یا اسلام نسبت به هر دو اینها

Ghalib Dehlavi and Iqbal Lahori are famous poets of the Indian subcontinent who lived in the 19th and 20th centuries. They reflected the social and political concerns of their society in their poetry. They introduced a new style of poetry in both Farsi and Urdu languages and objected to worn-out superstitions and customs. The intellectual and literary sources of the two poets are almost the same. The mutual themes of the poetry of these two mystic poets include love, sincerity in worship, unity of existence, and human dignity. The philosophy of self, love, and wisdom and the philosophy of poetry and mysticism are among the most important concepts about which they have disagreement. In the intellectual system of Iqbal, concepts such as people, God, and love are highlighted but the intellectual system of Ghalib is more based on wisdom and makes use of symbols more tangible. In this article, we try to study the works of Ghalib and Iqbal in order to determine the similarities and difference between their poetry and to analyze their philosophical and mystical approaches.

فتوای اخیر آیت‌الله مکارم شیرازی و نیز آیت‌الله نوری همدانی علیه ساخت فیلمی در مورد زندگی مولوی و شمس تبریزی، دو تن از چهره‌های تصوف اسلامی-ایرانی، دیگر بار پرسش از نسبت فقیهان و صوفیان را به میان آورده است. در این نوشته، به بهانه فتاوای اخیر، بر پدیده تاریخی رویارویی فقیهان و صوفیان تمرکز خواهم کرد. ادعای اصلی این نوشته آن است که گرچه فقیهان در حذف خشونت‌بار صوفیان همواره دست بالا را داشته‌اند، اما بررسی حتی گذرای تاریخ این رویارویی نشان می‌دهد که صوفیان حذف‌ناشدنی از کار در آمده‌اند.

In the present study, we examine the role and themes of Islamic-Iranian mysticism in the works of Alexander Kusikov, a Russian poet of the twentieth century. Kusikov is one of those poets who have been totally unknown in Iran, while his influence on the culture and literature of Iran and the East is remarkable. This research analyzes works such as “Al-Borraq,” which have influenced the Islamic-Iranian culture. The purpose of this article is to demonstrate the effects of Iranian literature on Russian literature and the attention and efforts of Russian poets, including Kusikov, to follow the traditions and themes of classical Iranian literature. These effects are in terms of concepts, themes, poetic style, and choice of words (use of Persian words in their works). Such influences indicate the ability of writers and poets to interact with other cultures.

Parvin Iʿtisami (1907–1941), the first important twentieth-century woman poet of Iran, was well versed in classical Persian poetry. Her knowledge of English language and education at the American school for girls as well as her father’s translations from foreign literature contributed to her appreciation of modern ideas, including women’s rights. Unlike some of her contemporaries in the early twentieth century who tried to revolutionize the form of Persian poetry, she expanded the potentiality of poetic language in its traditional forms. Iʿtisami’s profound knowledge of mystical Persian literature and her awareness of gender inequality as well as her familiarity with Western literature, particularly Walt Whitman, contributed to introducing a character in the poem ‘God’s Weaver’, a spider who possessed characteristics of a female and those of a mystic. Through this character, Iʿtisami formed an association between femininity and mysticism and challenged the patriarchal system, particularly the patriarchal discourse of Persian mysticism and the lethargy of the (mostly male) mystics.

رنه گنون، در 15 نوامبر 1886م در فرانسه و در خانوادۀ یک ساختمان ساز و معمار به دنیا آمد. تحصیلات موفّقی را پشت سر گذاشت، در حالی‌که از نداشتن سلامتی کامل در دوران جوانی‌‌اش رنج می‌برد. ذهن هوشمند او ثابت کرد که در خلال دورۀ تحصیل عمومی، می‌تواند به قالب سنّتی آموزش مسلّط شده، بالأخص سرآمد علم فلسفه و ریاضیّات شود. در همان جوانی با انجمن‌های عرفانی در ارتباط بود و به پیروان معرفت‌شناسی پیوست و شروع به تحقیق وسیعی در زمینۀ عرفان کرد.
در سال 1909م به درجۀ اسقف اعظمی در کلیسای مخصوص پیروان معرفت‌شناسی رسید که توسط پاپ تأسیس شده بود. زندگی «گنون» در این دوران دشوار و پیچیده بود. وی در بین سال‌های 1912 تا 1928م عهده‌دار پژوهش و مطالعه در بسیاری از گروه‌های عرفانی و صوفی در ارتباط با مذاهب هندوئیسم، اسلام، مسیحیت و تائویسم شد. گنون در طول این دورۀ مهم هر آنچه می‌توانست دانش کسب می‌کرد تا بتواند مقدمه‌ای برای پیشرفت روزافزونش در دانش و فهم گسترده‌ای که از سنت‌های رمزآمیز باشد.
بین سال‌های 1927 و 1930م او برای تشریح رموز عرفان به عنوان قلب تپندۀ مذهب، تمام وقت خود را صرف کرد، اگرچه مجبور به درک تجربۀ یک سرخوردگی بزرگ شد که ناشی از مخالفت عناصر درون مذهب کاتولیک نسبت به آثارش (مخصوصاً نسبت به کتاب «پروردگار جهان») بود. گنون در سال 1930م پس از مرگ نخستین همسرش از پاریس به قاهرۀ مصر رفت و تا زمان مرگش در سال 1951 برای 20 سال در آنجا زندگی کرد. وی در آن زمان به عضویت یکی از فرق صوفیانۀ اسلامی درآمد و نامش را به «عبدالواحد یحیی» تغییر داد. بیشتر آثار او در مورد عرفان، نقد مدرنیته و سمبولیسم نوشته شده است. او باقی عمر خود به عنوان یک صوفی زندگی کرد.
گنون بی‌اندازه کتوم بود و نشانی خود را به کسی نمی‌داد. او در فرانسه دشمنانی داشت و گمان می‌کرد آنان می‌خواهند با افسون و جادو به او بتازند. گنون در آن دوران آسوده‌دل و مطمئن نبود و بسیار می‌ترسید که برخی از مردم به او بتازند و دلش می‌خواست ناشناس بماند تا خود را در مصر، جایی که می‌زیست و گهوارۀ اسلام بود، فرو ببرد.
همسر گنون توانایی خواندن نداشت و تنها به زبان عربی سخن می‌گفت. پیوند زناشویی آنان با خوش‌بختی همراه بود آنان هفت سال بود که با هم زندگی می‌‌کردند و فرزندی‌ هم نداشتند. گنون به مرز کهن‌سالی نزدیک می‌شد و بسیار از زنش بزرگ‌تر بود و از زن نخست هم بچه‌ای نداشت. از این رو هنگامی که بر آن شدند تا دارای فرزندی شوند، پیش‌بینی‌ناپذیر و غیرمنتظره بود که آنان روی هم رفته دارای چهار فرزند شوند. گنون کما بیش جز بعضی ایام از خانه بیرون نمی‌رفت. حتی دوستش تنها یک بار برای دیدن مسجد «سیدنا حسین» نزدیک دانشگاه الازهر با او بیرون رفته است. او حضوری پر شکوه داشته، برخورد ارجمندانۀ مردم با او دیدنی و شگفت‌انگیز بوده است. هنگامی که به دورن مسجد می‌رفته بانگ درود و صلوات مردم بر پیامبر از هر گوشه‌ای بلند می‌شده که این روش نمایش پاس‌داشت و احترام فراوان در برابر دیگران است. روشنایی و درخششی از سر و روی گنون می‌باریده و چشمان زیبای او که از ویژگی‌های برجسته‌اش بوده، درخششش را تا مرز کهن‌سالی نگه می‌داشته‌است.

روشن است که واژه‌ی “جن” - آنگونه که ما آنرا امروزه در قرآن می‌خوانیم و جدا از ریشه‌های پیشااسلامی آن - یک واژه‌ی گنگ و ناشناخته می‌نَماید. با نگاهی به احادیث و تفسیرها، ما با انگاره‌های تازه‌تری از این پدیده روبرو می‌گردیم، که - سوای پریشانی‌شان - با این ریشه‌های پیشااسلامی آنچنان خوانایی ندارند. دلیل این ناهمگونی ولی در این نکته نهفته است، که تمامی انگاره‌های ساخته شده از سده‌های نهم میلادی به بعد، در خدمت جداسازی این ایده‌ها از بُن‌مایه‌های کهن‌شان بوده‌اند. این نکته را ما در زمینه‌های دیگر– همچون “اسکندرنامه”ها – هم شاهد هستیم

ناهمخوانی‌های کوچکِ موجود در بین برخی از واژه‌ها و یا اساطیر قرآنی با داستانهای انجیلهای رسمی امروزی، همزمان بمعنی همخوانی نسبیِ این مذهب با برخی دیگر از «ارتدادهای» موجود در مذهب مسیحی در سده‌های پس از میلاد است، که تا بحال بدلیل نابودیِ برخی و دگرگونیِ بخش دیگری از آنها، بر ما کمابیش ناشناخته مانده‌اند. این هم البته یک امر منطقی است، چرا که اساساً دلیلِ پیدایشِ دین اسلام همین تفاوت‌های فرقه‌های پیش‌قراولِ آن با کلیسای رسمی بیزانس و روم بود

Study of verbiculture process in Naser Khosrowâs Zadolmosfer

Among of prose works of Naser Khosrow, Zadolmosfer has special value, both for motif and writing method. He wrote this book after Safar Nameh and used the Persian fine equivalents for philosophical explanations and answer for sages and philosophers of Greece philosophical terms. This book along with the book-like Al-Tafhim and Daneshnamh‌e‌alaie, is the first work of non translational work that writer understood the need of verbiculture process . This article notices to patterns of verbiculture process in Naser Khosrow’s Zadolmosfer ,because of he was familiar with the features and facilities language and There are linguistic similarities between Naser Khosrow’s point of view and new linguistic theories about language, speech and text and this issues confirm his knowledge about language. This article tries to review Zadolmosfer base on linguistic learning.

Explaining multiplicity and its relation to unity is one of the oldest problems of philosophy and mysticism. Peripatetic Philosophers have solves this problem by introducing the vertical hierarchy of transcendent causes. Mystics have explained the multiplicity with the gradation of manifestations and returning it to the second manifestation. In its ultimate view, Transcendent wisdom with transition from particular gradation to more particular gradation, justifies the mystical relationship between unity and multiplicity. But it seems that these two types of gradation have failed to explain the connection of multiplicity to simplicity of being.  Using an analytical method, this study introduces a new kind of gradation in the unity itself which is not only compatible with necessity and simplicity of being, but also confirms them. According to this new explanation, gradation is transformed from being to unity and the gradation of exoteric and esoteric is incorporated in unity. So the necessity of divine essence can be compatible with multiplicity, and this multiplicity in divine essence can be regarded as the principle of succinct multiplicity in the first manifestation.

Through offering an ethnography of a group of educated, middle-class women who “had been attending weekly Qur’an and classical poetry classes for years” (xii), the volume shows that poetry and prayer are companions in the cultural history of Iran. It attempts to answer the question, “What does this companionship mean for forms of religiosity in Iran?” (xiv). It consists of an introduction, four chapters, a conclusion, a glossary, notes, a bibliography, and an index.

Feyz Kashani (died in 1680) was a philosopher and a poet whose poetry, although not literally considerable, holds a very important role in terms of understanding the nature of Persian mystical sonnet. The study of his sonnets shows that Feyz has benefited the form of sonnets to express prayers, eulogies, and religious advices and sometimes social criticism. The mystical manifestation of his poetry, especially influenced by Ibn Arabi's mysticism, is recognizable in many of his sonnets. In this paper, briefly in the epistemological discussion, an overview has been conducted on the ways of acquiring knowledge and the necessity of inner-self polishing to gain wisdom from the point of Feyz's view. Then, in the ontology section, some of his poems that contain themes such as: the relation between God and universe, the manifestation of unity in plurality, passing the plurality to get unity, the manifestation of the unseen world in intuition, the sacred and holy grace, the mercy and inherent poverty of creatures, the relation between the component and the whole, man as the manifestation of comprehensive name, recreation of samples and mortality of unfair have been analyzed. Fayz's view is influenced by transcendental wisdom; because the mystical and intuitive knowledge are of its epistemic resources. Some of Feyz's sonnets have been selected and examined, in present study, to show how his mystical thoughts are converted into a literary style of expression. The results show that the ideas expressed in these poems have gotten poetic aspect through the order of words, secondary implications, associations and imagination.

در این مقاله یک تجربه عرفانی توصیف می شود و در ان گفته میشود که تضادهای جهان دو قطبی حاکم بر زندگی انسان از قبیل غم و شادی، زشتی و زیبایی، موفقیت و شکست، تنها در مقیاس فردی و این جهانی معنی دار بوده و در مقیاس کیهانی و آن جهانی(جهان وحدت) چنین تضادهایی بی معنی بوده و برای اینکه انسان استعلا یافته و به ماورای تضادهای مذکور برسد لازم است از طریق سیر و سلوک عرفانی بر حس جدایی خود از جهان هستی فائق آید.

خوشبختانه مدّتی است که در نشریات پژوهشی ادبی کشور بخش «نقد» -که غالباً نقد کتاب یا مقاله است- پررنگ شده-است. این حرکت و توجّه به نوبۀ خود درخور تحسین است، امّا کافی نیست. نقد را نمی¬توان به نقد کتاب و بعضاً مقاله محدود کرد، چراکه گسترۀ نقد تمامی فعّالیت¬های علمی را شامل می¬شود. بررسی فعّالیت¬های علمی مانند همایش¬ها، نشست¬ها و حتّی سخنرانی¬ها می¬تواند به نشاط و پویایی در عرصۀ علمی و پژوهشی کمک شایانی کند. نقد و بررسی همایش¬های علمی و مجموعه مقالات آن که تأثیر گسترده¬ای در عرصۀ پژوهشی دارد می¬تواند این فعّالیت¬ها را از رخوت و ایستایی برهاند. این نوشتار گامی است هرچند کوچک در این راستا که به نقد و بررسی مجموعه مقالات یکی از همایش¬های سال¬های اخیر می¬پردازد. دربارۀ پدر شعر نو کتاب¬ها و مقالات متعدّدی نوشته شده¬است. از منابعی که در بررسی نیما مفید خواهد بود مجموعه مقالات دومین همایش نیماشناسی است. این مجموعه موضوعات بسیار متنوّع و نوآورانه¬ای را در نیماشناسی دربرمی¬گیرد. نوشتار پیش¬رو پس از اشاره به محاسن این مجموعۀ پربار به بررسی مشکلات آن می‌پردازد و بر آن است تا از این رهگذر به برخی اشکالات اساسی پژوهش‌های ادبی اشاره¬ای کند.

رالف والدو امرسون (1882-1803) فیلسوف، شاعر و نویسنده آمریکایی است که تفکرات او شباهت بسیاری به عرفان اسلامی دارد و از آنجا که او بخش قابل توجهی از زندگی خود را ، دست کم چهل سال ، وقف عرفان و بطور مشخص حافظ کرده چه بسا وی تحت تاثیر لسان الغیب باشد. به عقیدة  دکتر اختیار سیر امرسون در سنّت ایرانی از آیین زرتشتی شروع و پس از قرآن کریم و سعدی به شیفتگی او نسبت به حافظ می انجامد. امرسون در شعر شرق جستجو کرده و به برتری ایرانیان اذعان دارد. این فیلسوف آمریکایی به این مطلب اعتراف می کند که مشکل است بتوان بیشتر از ایرانیان فلسفه ، اخلاق و هوش را در قالب جملات گنجاند.  شیفتگی او نسبت به لسان الغیب به حدّی است که دیوان حافظ را شگفت ترین سخنی می داند که طیب خاطر خلق کرده است. در زمان وی شرق چندان برای آمریکائیان و حتّی بسیاری از محقّقان آن سرزمین شناخته شده نبود و فعّالیّت  های او سهم بسزایی در شناخت فرهنگ و ادب ایران به جامعة انگلیسی زبان دارد. جای خالی تحقیقی به زبان فارسی بر روی شباهت حافظ و امرسون محقّق را بر آن داشته است تا گامی هرچند کوچک در راستای پر کردن این خلاء بردارد.

Undoubtedly, the disability to express the mystical experiences is what all mystics in East or West have rigid consensus on; it means that mystical facts and high concepts obtained through intuition aren’t possible to be expressed.  Jalāl al-Dīn Muhammad Balkhī, Mowlavi has clearly explained in his masnavi the different forms of the issue and actually shows the literal difficulties to express mystical experiences. To express mystical facts and concepts there exist four barriers: subject, teller, speech, and listener. So the author, in present paper, tries to show Mowlana’s viewpoint about the above mentioned barriers in his Masnavi. Although he has extensively spoken about each of the barriers, but what has him hurt more than any other things and prevents him to express the listener the divine truths. So it can be said that listener has been the most important one out of the four main barriers, as Mowlavi believed, which made him to speak about in Masnavi.

Talking about ego, in the Sufis’ works, two terms of “endeavor” and “austerity” have been sometimes used focused on each other and sometimes alone.
Did they have similar definitions and positions in Sufis’ opinion or had they been different from each other? We claim that “endeavor” and “austerity” had had different positions and of course different definitions in old texts.  It was made clear, after accomplishing present research that the Sufi authors had explained these two issues apart from each other in their instructive books on Sufism; but most of them used “endeavor” and “austerity” with similar meaning and focused on each other when talking.

در این مقاله به بهانه ی گزارش یک سفر زیارتی مفاهیم عرفانی درون در مقابل برون ظاهردر مقابل باطن و جایگاه انسان در مقابل جهان توضیح داده میشود،با این جمع بندی که درون عین برون بوده و تفاوت چندانی بین آنها از جمله بین یک سفر زیارتی با سفر سیاحتی وجود ندارد و چنین تضاد و تقابلی ناشی از نگرش ها و زاویه دید انسانها و تعبیر و تفسیرهای انسانی انها از جهان هستی است.

There are several studies pertaining to Perisian painting which explain its aesthetics on the basis of mysticism and the notion of imaginal world. This point of view bears some methodological problems. Some of the prominent scholars (Burckhardt, Nasr, Ringgenberg), refering to Ibn Arabi’s mystical notions, have tried to show that the specific aesthetics of Persian painting has been derived from the imaginal world. Our aime here is to show that establishing the aesthetics of Persian painting on the basis of imaginal world’s metaphysics lacking seriously the theoretical and methodological rigour. Firstly, Ibn Arabi and his heirs’ conception of imaginal world was first of all ontological (hierarchy of Being) and epistemological (knowledge of God). Secondly, there are not overwhelming proofs which could demonstrate that Persian painters were initiated to this notion. Thirdly, achieving to imaginal world through mystical intuition is conditioned by asceticism and purifying rituals, which are not necessarily familiar to Persian painters almost working in the court of Sultans. We will try to show that considereing these painting in themselves is the genuine way to establish their aesthetics principles.

One of the most important features of Mohammad Reza Shafiei Kadkani’s poetry is its profound link with historical and cultural background of Iran. This feature can be found, more than anything else, in two areas of myth and mysticism. These two, along with social themes, constitute the most outstanding semantic implications of Shafiei’s poetry, according to critics. The purpose of this article is to study the image system of Shafiei’s poetry and to explain its relationship with the three above-mentioned semantic areas. This image network is the result of a systematic gathering of images such as vegetation, rain, spring, morning and singing. The most important function of central image of growth is the creation of semantic confrontation between two categories of concepts, what makes the signification of Shafiei’s poetry in three mentioned areas possible. Therefore, the visual cluster of growth in Shafiei’s poetry should be considered as the point of conjunction of the main meanings derived from his poetry, which redefines many of the symbols in the contemporary Persian poetry by repositioning concepts and images in a contradictory system.

A large number of verses in Holy Quran deal with the issues of women, such as their rights and duties and the juridical commandments about them. In addition, the names of some famous women have been pointed out in some of its chapters (Surahs) who played main roles in Quranic stories or historical events. Utilizing library sources, women-related Quranic verses which have been brought in third edition of Kashf al-Asrar will be criticized for the sake of their interpretation and Sufi perspective through a descriptive-analytic method. An overall survey shows that most of Meybodi’s interpretations are comparative and he tries to analyze the fundamentals of Sufism and expresses his mystical thoughts by use of Quranic verses with no attention to the gender of Woman. So, Meybodi’s attitude about the status and sexuality of women would be clear. Regardless some few cases, he has a lovely and compassionate attitude toward them.

There are different viewpoints about the question that “what is the creation and making of things?” Among various theories about this question, decedent Imam Khomeini (peace be upon him) has special viewpoint. Imam believes to the mystic’s monotheism, (i.e. oneness of being) and according to this view it can not be said that existence is a creature, because the result of this position is real multiplicity in being. In contrast, Imam says that the made thing is quiddity, but this made thing is not the primary creature but is a kind of appearance following the appearance of the existence.
He thinks that by adopting this view, we able to reconcile the theory of priority of existence and the viewpoint that made thing is the quiddity and also reconcile the position that “made thing is the existence” and the viewpoint that made thing is the quiddity. This view has been criticized by some scholars. In this article we criticize and analyze Imam’s view and some of its criticisms and conclude that the mentioned criticisms are not valid

در نيم‌قرن اخير 173 دين و طبق آماري ديگر نزديك به 200 دين در طول 25سال اخير در سراسر جهان تأسيس شده‌اند[3] در آماري که مراکز بین‌المللی داده‌اند، اکنون 700 فرقه در انگلستان، بين 50 تا 100 دین جدید در سوئيس و سوئد و بیش از هزار مورد در ايالات متحده امريکا به فعالیت مشغولند. عموم این ادیان دارای مشترکاتی با هم هستند از این‌رو، در علم الادیان به «جنبش‌های نوپدید دینی= NRMs»[4] نام گرفته‌اند.
آسیب‌های روانی و اجتماعی این ادیان، به حدی است که در برخی کشورها، صدها مؤسسه دولتی و مردمی برای برخورد با آنها به وجود آمده است، مثلاً در فرانسه، يک وزارت ضد این نوع مذاهب ايجاد شد. متاسفانه در کشور ما متولی خاصی برای برخورد با این جریانات انحرافی نیست. در حالی که در کشور ما حدود 5هزار سایت، چندین هزار کتاب به ترویج این نوع عرفان‌ها پرداخته و حدود هزار مرکز آموزش «يوگا» و انواع کلاس‌های تعلیم ریکی، سایکیک، انرژی درمانی، مدیتیشن و... فعال است. نماینده فرقه رام الله در ایران، ا.م. رام الله. به همراه دو خواهرش، که در 23 سالگی رهبر ی این جریان دینی را به عهده گرفته در حال عضو گیری است. او به حدی در خود را در بین پیروانش جای داده که آنها به وی لقب «اوتاره» یعنی سرور داده‌اند. این گروه در قالب چند مجله و کتاب و سایت به ترویج کیش انحرافی خود می‌پردازند.

Upon arrival, modernity caused widespread changes in various levels of Iranian society, including the intellectual and cultural levels, and the mystical discourse, as a dominant traditional discourse in Iranian culture, changed afterwards. Persian novels were among the works that showed these changes or they themselves were involved in creating an effective dissidence. So, their examination can play an important role in rheology of mysticism and its position in the contemporary era. This research is to investigate the representation of mystic discourse in the novels of "Wandering Island" and "Wandering Cameleer" of Simin Daneshvar. Three "traditional", "modern" and "semi-traditional" discourses have been represented in this novel. In traditional discourse, the revival of the traditional role of mysticism in man's emancipation has been emphasized; but mysticism has been criticized in modern discourse and it has no role in this thought to solve the problems of contemporary society. The representation of these two discourses has been accomplished, if not say badly, with at least considerable weaknesses. In the "semi-traditional" discourse in which representation is accompanied with "goodness", the author presents, based on the teachings of traditional mysticism, a kind of mysticism that is consistent with modern society.

Defamiliarization, the artistic technique of presenting to audiences common things in an unfamiliar or strange way in order to enhance perception of the familiar, is the main function of artistic literature. Paradox is one of its techniques. Paradox is used either syntactically or semantically. Ibn al-Farid was a mystic Sufi poet gifted by mystical perceptions in addition to his poetic talents. Although he enjoyed a high quality interpretation capability, he found paradoxical techniques the best and the closest mystical experiences. Defining paradoxical techniques and showing their literary and rhetoric values, the authors in present study, try to introduce paradoxicals analytically in Ibn al-Farid's Ode (the Great Ta'iyyah).

One of the issues in Islamic mysticism which has caused many challenges and which has become the pretext for justifying the dissent from Sufi teachings is the issue of “non-compliance with the Sharia.” Critics and exegetes have offered various views on mystics’ non-compliance with the Sharia. Reflection on and analysis of the critical thoughts of the mystics themselves on this matter can reveal the truth. A glance at the words and behavior of mystic elders reveals their adherence to religion and its supreme purposes and their avoidance of any religious superficialism. Although sporadic research has been done explaining this issue, its importance requires us to delve into the view of the mystics themselves on the matter. In this article, while having the justifications for non-compliance with the Sharia in mind, the opinions and statements of mystics and scholars of mystical thought are examined. Our hypothesis is based on the fact that non-compliance with the Sharia has been the result of pseudo-Sufis’ acts and the attribution of this non-compliance to Sufi sheikhs may need rethinking.
