This chapter executes a reading of the character of Walter White / Heisenberg ('Breaking Bad') through John Stuart Mill's 'On Liberty'.  This chapter pays attention to issues related to Mill's harm principle, freedom, individuality, individual sovereignty, individual spontaneity, collective mediocrity, authority, the tyranny of the majority, legislated morality, justice, and punishment.

— Rainfall and runoff are important components contributing significantly to the hydrological cycle, design of hydrological structures and morphology of the drainage system. Estimation of the same is carried out to determine and forecast its effects. Estimation of direct rainfall-runoff is always efficient but is not possible for most of the location in desired time. Use of remote sensing and GIS technology can be useful to overcome the problem in conventional methods for estimating runoff. In this paper, modified Soil Conservation System (SCS) CN method is used for runoff estimation that considers parameter like slope, vegetation cover, area of watershed.

Seiring kemajuan teknologi dan jumlah penumpang yang terus bertambah, maka peningkatan jumlah penerbangan dan airline pun terjadi. Sejalan dengan peningkatan tersebut maka memicu  peningkatan kegiatan di apron oleh peralatan penunjang pelayanan darat atau ground support system (GSE). Peningkatan ini dalam rangka melayani aktivitas pesawat udara di area Apron seperti : take off dan landing pesawat, penumpang yang naik dan turun, pergantian crew pesawat, loading dan unloading bagasi serta kargo penumpang.
Hal ini bisa memiliki resiko yang mengancam keselamatan jiwa jika tidak diawasi secara optimal. Untuk melaksanakan pengawasan tersebut adalah tugas dari unit pengawas yaitu Apron Movement Control (AMC) untuk mencegah pelanggaran yang dapat mengancam keselamatan penerbangan di sisi udara. Apalagi ditambah dengan adanya peningkatan tersebut maka petugas Apron Movement Control (AMC) harus melakukan pengawasan secara maksimal terhadap petugas Ground Handling (GH) dalam pengoperasian Ground Support Equipment (GSE) untuk menciptakan ketertiban penerbangan di area Apron, misalnya pengawasan terhadap tata cara penempatan Ground Support Equipment (GSE), kondisi kelayakan Ground Support Equipment (GSE) serta kecepatan dalam mengoperasikannya.

The proliferation of networks using narrowcasting for their original drama serials in the United States proved that protagonist types different from conventional heroes can appeal to their target audiences. While this success of anti-hero narratives in television serials starting from late 1990s raises the question of “quality television”, developing audience measurement models of networks make alternative narratives based on anti-heroes become widespread on the U.S. television industry. This thesis examines the development of the anti-hero on the U.S. television by focusing on the protagonists of pay-cable serials The Sopranos (1999-2007) and Dexter (2006-2013), basic cable serials The Shield (2002-2008) and Mad Men (2007-2015), and video-on-demand serials House of Cards (2013- ) and Hand of God (2014- ). In brief, this thesis argues that the use of anti-hero narratives in television is directly related to the narrowcasting strategy of networks and their target audience groups, shaping a template for growing networks and newly formed distribution services to enhance the brand of their corporations. In return, the anti-hero narratives push the boundaries of conventional hero in television with the protagonists becoming morally less tolerable and more complex, introducing diversity to television serials and paving the way even for mainstream broadcast networks to develop serials based on such protagonists.

AMC's The Walking Dead (TWD) is a pop culture phenomenon that reaches millions of viewers each week, ranging in age from 18 to 50 years old. Chronicling the trials and tribulations of a fictional group of suvivors within a horror-fueled post-apocalyptic America, TWD follows in a long line of zombie-centered texts that reveal society's deepest anxieties: threat of overwhelming disease, fall of societal infrastructure, and the breakdown of social and moral ideologies. This project examines changing representations of masculinity within pop culture, and the ways in which the men of The Walking Dead seem to both reinforce and challenge those convictions. This critical analysis focuses mainly on the character of Daryl Dixon as a changing, fluid example of the enactment of stereotypical gender norms. Daryl is at once a macho action hero, moral compass, and soft-hearted "good guy" within the group of survivors. The longevity and increased fervor for Daryl Dixon demands closer examination as his character development actively works to separate the televised text from the printed work the story originates from.

Se informa por primera vez la presencia de parasitismo intestinal por Inermicapsifer madagascariensis en una familia del municipio Santa Cruz Sur de la provincia de Camaguey. El brote se detecto a partir de investigaciones realizadas a una menor de 18 meses de edad remitida a consulta de parasitologia por presentar inapetencia, perdida de peso, diarreas semipastosas y liquidas, anorexia y dolor abdominal. Los sintomas antes mencionados se presentaron tambien en el resto de la familia (mama y abuelo). El diagnostico se confirmo al enviar las muestras de heces fecales al laboratorio provincial de parasitologia, donde se constato la presencia de los proglotides del parasito en todos los pacientes. Las personas afectadas recibieron tratamiento con prazicuantel a dosis establecida, luego de indicarles otros complementarios. We study the effect of spatially dependent mass function over the solution of the Dirac equation with the Coulomb potential in the (3+1)-dimensions for any arbitrary spin-orbit κ state. In the framework of the spin and pseudospin symmetry concept, the analytic bound state energy eigenvalues and the corresponding upper and lower two-component spinors of the two Dirac particles are obtained by means of the Nikiforov-Uvarov method, in closed form. This physical choice of the mass function leads to an exact analytical solution for the pseudospin part of the Dirac equation. The special cases 1 (l=l=0, i.e., s-wave), the constant mass and the non-relativistic limits are briefly investigated.

This book examines how television has been transformed over the past twenty years by the introduction of new viewing technologies including DVDs, DVRs and streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. It shows that these platforms have profoundly altered the ways we access and watch television, enabling viewers to pause, rewind, record and archive the once irreversible flow of broadcast TV. JP Kelly argues that changes in the technological landscape of television has encouraged the production of narrative forms that both explore and embody new industrial temporalities. Focusing on US television but also considering the role of TV within a global marketplace, the author identifies three distinct narrative temporalities: “acceleration” (24; Prison Break), “complexity” (Lost; FlashForward), and “retrospection” (Mad Men).  Through industrial-textual analysis of television shows, this cross-disciplinary study locates these narrative temporalities in their socio-cultural contexts and examines connections between production, distribution, and narrative form in the contemporary television industry.

This paper presents some of the current research work in the field of mobile robotics rehabilitation technology. Specifically, it reports some projects currently working toward “intelligent” powered wheelchair prototypes. All these projects aim to assist physically and mentally handicapped persons to steer and control powered wheelchairs. RobChair, a project running in our Institute, is also described.
