The thesis brings together philosophical, psychological and neuroscientific theories of affect in developing a dual process account of emotion. Philosophers and psychologists who take a cognitivist view claim that emotions in humans and other mammalian species require intentionality, arising as the product of evaluations which bear upon our survival or wellbeing, whereas neuroscientists conclude from their research that emotion has its foundations in subcortical affect mechanisms by which behaviours may arise as spontaneous responses to valuable stimuli. Parts I and II of the thesis examine these two accounts, which are construed as cognitive-evaluative and primitive emotional processes respectively. This paper presents a comparative view of Islamic economic rationalism and consumption framework to its counterpart’s conventional capitalist and socialist economic system. In conventional economic system, only self-interest and rationality of the consumer is the main principle to maximize utility whereas moral, religious, national, historical, cultural and social values are absent here. Consequently, the consumers enjoy sovereignty with little or no intervention of regulatory authority to maximize the utility. On the contrary, Islamic economic system designs its rationality and consumption principle in moderation that is far away from extremism where freedom and regulation is moderately recognized.  Therefore, Islamic rationality encourages the consumers to maximize his utility by insuring religious, national, historical, cultural and social values. A multi-parameter non-constant invariant Abel ODE class with the following remarkable features is presented. This one class is shown to generalize, that is, contain as particular cases, all the integrable classes presented by Abel, Liouville and Appell, as well as all those shown in Kamke's book and various other references. In addition, the class being presented includes other new and fully integrable subclasses, as well as the most general parameterized class we know of whose members can systematically be mapped into Riccati type ODEs. Finally, many integrable members of this class can be systematically mapped into an integrable member of a different class; leading in this way to new integrable classes from previously known ones.

Aspecte generale:-Utilizarea focului deschis in locuri cu pericol de incendiu şi pe timp de vânt este interzisă; locurile cu pericol de incendiu, în care se aplică această interdicţie , se stabilesc şi se marchează de persoanele în drept.-Arderea resturilor vegetale, gunoaielor, deşeurilor şi a altor materiale combustibile se face în locuri special amenajate ori pe terenuri pregătite, cu luarea măsurilor ce se impun pentru împiedicarea propagării focului în vecinătăţi, asigurându-se supravegherea permanentă a arderii, precum şi stingerea jarului după terminarea activităţii.-Utilizarea focului deschis nu se admite la distanţe mai mici de 40 m faţă de locurile cu pericol de explozie: gaze şi lichide combustibile, vapori inflamabili, explozivi, etc., respectiv 10 m faşă de materiale sau substanţe combustibile : lemn, hârtie, carton asfaltat, bitum, ulei, etc., fără a fi supravegheat şi asigurat prin măsuri corespunzătoare. The vocal expression of emotion is likely driven by shared physiological principles among species. However, which acoustic features promote decoding of emotional state and how the decoding is affected by ther listener's psychology remain poorly understood. Here we tested how acoustic features of piglet vocalizations interact with psychological profiles of human listeners to affect judgments of emotional content of heterospecific vocalizations. We played back 48 piglet call sequences recorded in four different contexts (castration, isolation, reunion, nursing) to 60 listeners. Listeners judged the emotional intensity and valence of the recordings and were further asked to attribute a context of emission from four proposed contexts. Abstract. In the historical literature, opposite conclusions were drawn about the impact of the First World War on mathematics. In this chapter, the case is made that the war was an important event for the history of mathematics. We show that although mathematicians ’ experience of the war was extremely varied, its impact was decisive on the life of a great number of them. We present an overview of some uses of mathematics in war and of the development of mathematics during the war. We conclude by arguing that the war also was a crucial factor in the institutional modernization of mathematics.
