Dissemination

Dissemination is the interactive process of communicating knowledge to target audiences so that it may be used to lead to change. The challenge is to improve the accessibility of desired knowledge products by those they are intended to reach. This means ensuring physical availability of the product to as large a proportion of the target audience as possible and making the product comprehensible to those who receive it.

Several groups have outlined methodologies for systematic literature reviews of the effectiveness of interventions. The Effective Public Health Practice Project (EPHPP) began in 1998. Its mandate is to provide research evidence to guide and support the Ontario Ministry of Health in outlining minimum requirements for public health services in the province. Also, the project is expected to disseminate the results provincially, nationally, and internationally. Most of the reviews are relevant to public health nursing practice. Intelligence Collection in the Era of "Persistent Surveillance" . H Παγκόσμια Στρατηγική Ασφάλειας της Ε.Ε. (EUGS , 2016), που υπογράφεται από την Ύπατη Εκπρόσωπο της Ένωσης για Θέματα Εξωτερικής Πολιτικής και Πολιτικής Ασφαλείας και Αντιπρόεδρος της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής, F. Mogherini,  περιλαμβάνει ανάμεσα σε άλλες, και την επιχειρησιακή απαίτηση, της «μόνιμης παρατήρησης Γης», η οποία χρειάζεται για να παρέχει τις απαραίτητες πληροφορίες για την υποστήριξη της εξωτερικής της πολιτικής.
Η απαίτηση αυτή, αν και έχει καταγραφεί στην Ευρώπη από τα μέσα της δεκαετίας του 2000, είναι η πρώτη φορά που αναδεικνύεται έντονα σε ένα τέτοιου υψηλού επιπέδου κείμενο. Ο όρος έχει πρωτοπαρουσιαστεί στην άλλη πλευρά του Ατλαντικού στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του 2000, ως η εποχή της «επίμονης επιτήρησης» και σχετιστεί με την επιχειρησιακή λειτουργία των μη επανδρωμένων συστημάτων.
Όμως και τα συστήματα αυτά δεν μπορούν να ξεπεράσουν αυτό που η Κοινότητα Πληροφοριών εξακολουθεί να αναφέρει ως «άρνηση της επικράτειας»,  που παραπέμπει στην «πολιτική ευαισθησία» χρήσης εναέριων μέσων που κάνουν προβληματική μια υπέρπτηση πάνω από μια εχθρική χώρα, η οποία παραβιάζει το διεθνές δίκαιο. Όπως έδειξαν οι περιπτώσεις στη Σοβιετική Ένωση με το αμερικανικό φωτοαναγνωριστικό U-2 το 1960 και στη Βόρεια Κορέα με το αεροσκάφος ηλεκτρονικής συλλογής EC-121 το 1969, τα εναέρια μέσα μπορεί να καταρριφθούν.
Η χρήση του Εξωατμοσφαιρικού Διαστήματος φαντάζει ως η κύρια εναλλακτική λύση, αφού οι δορυφόροι, σε γενικές γραμμές, είναι, ακόμα, άτρωτοι.. Αν και οι δορυφόροι δεν μπορούν να αιωρούνται πάνω από μία θέση για μεγάλο χρονικό διάστημα, εν τούτοις παρουσιάζονται λύσεις που τείνουν να υποστηρίξουν σε μεγάλο βαθμό την ως άνω επιχειρησιακή απαίτηση. Η παρουσίαση αυτή θα αναφερθεί σε συστήματα που αναφέρονται στην ως άνω προσέγγιση, έχοντας πάντοτε υπόψιν ότι για την υλοποίηση της συλλογής πληροφοριών, χρειάζονται όλα τα συστήματα. Αλλά ακόμα και τότε θα υπάρχουν κάποια άγνωστα στοιχεία.

This Impact Report identifies and summarises the diverse impacts, resulting from the £500m of UK funding of Science and Technology in 2013, using numerous quantitative metrics and short case study extracts.  It shows how the varied impacts of a national science and technology organization and its many funded programmes can be annually identified, captured, tracked, and summarised in a public document.

The report was produced for, and by, the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) -  the UK Research Council responsible for funding: (1) all UK astronomy, particle and nuclear physics research, (2) related UK science and technology facilities (e.g. as Harwell and Daresbury), (3) the UK contribution to international science (e.g. CERN, international telescopes and space missions), (4) innovation and business spin-off programmes, and (5) UK public engagement activities.

The Report was co-researched and co-authored by the STFC Impact Team, including myself while Impact Evaluation Manager in 2013, with Dr. Claire Dougan-McCallie (lead author/Head of Impact) and Jenny Beard, with additional input from senior managers, and many data and case study contributions from other key managers across STFC.

Varied key impacts are identified and reported including:

• Research amongst the best (by citation impact) in astronomy, nuclear and particle physics.
• Supported research of 226 Principal Investigators in 70 universities, led to 1,100 peer-reviewed papers in 2012.
• Facilities (the Diamond Light Source, ISIS and CLF) were used in 2012/13 by over 4,200 unique users , in over 2,400 experiments, producing over 1,000 papers in peer-reviewed journals.

• Technology from CERN benefited the UK economy by over £100 billion every year.
• Funding the development of the UK’s space, internet and computer animation industries, returned over £500 billion to the UK economy per annum.
• Funded Innovation Campuses hosted over 230 enterprises and supported over 5,000 jobs.
• UK industry won £43 million in contracts from the international subscriptions funded, and had accumulated a total of £150 million since 2005.

• Funded research inspired future generations to study STEM subjects, attracting 90% of UK undergraduates to study physics, funded 782 PhD students  and 16,800 student training days.
• Between 2009 to 2012 public engagement programmes engaged people on 58 million occasions, with 2 million people engaged in face-to-face activities in 2013 alone.

Advances in technology have a great impact on human society not only in education and entertainment, but even medical and agriculture sectors. Smart farming amalgamates this in order to enhance productivity and cut the operation cost. Thus, in this paper, we propose a novel smart system based on poultry farming over EVAP systems by utilizing mobile and wireless sensor networks with a well–known sensor mote, Tmote Sky, towards a WCF web service interaction. This system assists mobile users/ administrators to observe, and especially control an environmental behavior including an additional alert feature when there is a sudden environmental change with configured thresholds. The paper describes instruments and components of the key design of the system. For performance evaluation, we also practically investigated transmitted power consumption characteristics of sensor nodes using CTP and Dissemination multi–hop routing protocols.

Las tendencias hacia la hiperespecialización y el aislamiento en la investigación histórica han significado que la demanda social de conocimiento histórico está siendo, muy a menudo, satisfecha por autores ajenos a la disciplina. Esto significa en muchos casos que los productos de consumo de masas carecen del rigor y de la reflexiones crítica y ética que debe caracterizar la investigación histórica sólida. La historia militar es un ejemplo paradigmático, ya que su gran atractivo para el público general no encuentra eco en la investigación académica. Es por ello necesario reconsiderar el papel que la divulgación debería desempeñar como un puente entre la academia y la sociedad. En este contexto, analizamos el caso de Desperta Ferro Ediciones, que ilustra las posibilidades abiertas por la colaboración entre la universidad y la empresa privada. People suffer from serious pollution problems caused by the generation of large quantity of waste. Studies conducted that Solid Waste Management (SWM) showed minimal impacts to the community in some areas in the Philippines like Naga City. This paper evaluated the effectiveness on the impleme ntation of SWM system in Naga City in terms of information dissemination. This also analyzed the awareness of the household heads on the programs and its level of priority by the Local Government Units (LGUs). The study adopted descriptive-evaluative design of mixed methods of research. Structured questionnaires, interviews and FGDs were used for data gathering to the selected respondents such as household heads, LGU's and SWM Office key persons of nine (9) Barangays and selected schools in Naga City, Philippines. Based on the findings of the study, households were "slightly aware" of different SW management programs, the City has "not given much priority" in informing the public on the different SWM programs; also, its implementation in terms of information and dissemination were "slightly effective." The results of these findings will help LGU, NGOs and other stakeholders in enhancing policies on SWM problems specifically, issues in terms of information dissemination. This will give rise to a better, more effective, sustainable and culturally a cceptable SWM developmental plan that will alleviate City's problem on waste.

Translation and Dissemination of "A Dream of Red Mansions（Hong Lou Meng）" in the Malay World ——A Case Study on Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore

The purpose of this paper is to find out when the Malay translation of A Dream of Red Mansions began to appear. We have combed the previous discussions about the translation and dissemination of A Dream of Red Mansions in Malay and tried to correct some unfounded conclusions. By translating each paratext of the Malay translation, we present and introduce to readers the concrete image of A Dream of Red Mansions described by the Malay translation. Considering the feasibility of this study, we have limited the scope of the "Malay World" in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, where we could definitely conduct a detailed investigation. Buku ini dimaksudkan untuk mendorong para peneliti muda agar aktif
berbagi pengetahuan hasil penelitan kepada publik, sebagai bentuk tanggung jawab moral atas hasil kerja yang dibiayai oleh uang rakyat. Penulis juga ingin menekankan pentingnya peran wartawan sebagai partner peneliti dan pentingnya peran humas sebagai  penyampai (komunikator) hasil penelitian. Di sisi lain, peneliti perlu meningkatkan
kecakapan berkomunikasi dan membangun jejaring dengan awak media. Oleh karena itu, penulis juga menyampaikan materi-materi sebagai bekal bagi para peneliti untuk “berbicara kepada media”. Materi-materi tersebut dikompilasi dari berbagai sumber termasuk dari modul pelatihan yang pernah penulis ikuti.

Romania's long-term economic sustainability and the long-term viability of the country's social protection system crucially depend on the success of Roma inclusion. The Romanian Roma is poor, vulnerable, and socially excluded, severely limiting opportunities to contribute to Romania's economic growth and shared prosperity. Even when important background characteristics are held constant, merely being a Roma remains a key determinant of living in poverty. Promoting Roma inclusion in Romania should be based on concerted efforts, following a dual-purpose approach comprising: (i) a comprehensive understanding of the dimensions of exclusion faced by Roma; and (ii) improving service delivery within each of, as well as across these dimensions.
