В статье представлены результаты технологического и экспериментально-трасологического анализов персональных украшений многослойной археологической стоянки Обишир-5 – ключевого объекта позднего плейстоцена – раннего голоцена в западной части Центральной Азии. Изучаемые артефакты из раннеголоценового комплекса памятника (литологические слои 2 и 3) – три подвески овальной, подтреугольной и подпрямоугольной формы, украшение-«лабретка» и заготовка подвески – составляют наиболее раннюю и многочисленную для данного региона серию каменных шлифованных украшений. Все изделия обнаружены в надежных стратиграфических условиях, для вмещающих культурных отложений получена серия радиоуглеродных дат. В результате комплексного петрографического, экспериментально-трасологического и технологического исследования реконструированы операционные последовательности изготовления украшений. Установлено, что в эпоху раннего голоцена их делали из местного сырья – талькита и серпентинита, источник которого находился в 4,5 км от стоянки. Заготовками подвесок служили мелкие гальки, обломки и сколы с более крупных отдельностей сырья. Процесс изготовления включал обработку поверхностей изделий шлифовкой и строганием, биконическое сверление и полировку. Выдвигается предположение о существовании традиции изготовления персональных украшений из мягких пород камня в западной части Центральной Азии 10,700–8,200 кал. л.н. Сопоставление изделий рассматриваемого типа из археологических комплексов финального плейстоцена – раннего голоцена западной части Центральной Азии, Среднего и Ближнего Востока позволило считать их одним из ярких индикаторов развития этих комплексов в одном направлении.

The stratified site of Obishir-5 is one of the most important Final Pleistocene to Early Holocene sites in western Central Asia. In the Early Holocene component (10,700–8200 cal BP) of this site (layers 2 and 3), we discovered one of the oldest and largest assemblages of soft stone ornaments known from the region. It includes 5 items: three oval, sub-triangular, and sub-rectangular pendants, one “labret”-like ornament, and one ornament blank. All specimens come from stratified and well-dated contexts. As a result of the petrographic, experimental, use-wear, and technological analysis, we reconstructed the chaîne opératoire of these artifacts. To produce them, local raw materials (talcite and serpentinite) were transported from a source located 4.5 km away from the site. Small pebbles, shatters, and spalls split from nodules were used as blanks. The surface of the blank was first prepared using grinders and burins, then biconical drilling and polishing were used to finish the artifact. Our results point to an established tradition of personal ornament production from soft stone in western Central Asia during the Early Holocene. Comparison of these nonutilitarian artifacts with those from other Final Pleistocene to Early Holocene archaeological complexes across Central Asia, the Middle East, and the Near East suggests that personal ornament manufacture may be an important hallmark of social developments across a broad geographic region.

En este trabajo se explora la explotación de los recursos vegetales durante el Epipaleolítico y el Neolítico en el sur peninsular y norte de Marruecos. El registro arqueobotánico permite caracterizar tanto las especies silvestres recolectadas como la introducción durante la segunda mitad del VI milenio cal BC de una serie de cultivos entre los que destacan distintos cereales, leguminosas y posiblemente el lino. Se plantea, además la posible domesticación local de la adormidera. Para ello presentamos nuevos datos arqueobotánicos procedentes de las cuevas de Nerja (Málaga), de Los Murciélagos de Zuheros (Córdoba) y de Los Mármoles (Córdoba).

This paper explores the exploitation of plant resources during the Epipalaeolithic and the Neolithic in southern Iberia and northern Morocco. The archaeobotanical record allows outlining the range of wild species used and characterizing the first evidences of farming during the second half of the 6th mil. cal BC. Amongst the first crops, cereals, legumes and most probably flax had a preeminent role. The probable domestication of poppy in this area is addressed. New data from the caves of Nerja (Málaga), Los Murciélagos de Zuheros (Córdoba) and Los Mármoles (Córdoba) are discussed.

In this study we present evidence of braided plant fibres and basketry imprints on clay recovered from Coves de Santa Maira, a Palaeolithic-Mesolithic cave site located in the Mediterranean region of Spain. The anatomical features of these organic fibre remains were identified in the archaeological material and compared with modern Stipa tenacissima (esparto grass). Based on direct dating, the fragments of esparto cord from our site are the oldest worked plant fibres in Europe. Sixty fragments of fired clay are described. The clay impressions have allowed us to discuss the making of baskets and containers. According to their attributes and their functional interpretation, we have grouped them into five types within two broad categories, hearth plates and baskets or containers. The clay pieces identified as fragments of containers with basketry impressions are less common than those of hearth plate remains and they are concentrated in the Epipalaeolithic occupation material (13.2-10.2 ka cal bp). The clay impressions from Santa Maira indicate that some fibres were treated or flattened, a preparation process that is known from historical and ethnological sources.

Presentamos un proyecto de investigación independiente sobre la Prehistoria de unos valles del Prepirineo oscense. Comenzó, y
continúa siendo, una forma de auto-aprendizaje para jóvenes investigadores, adaptando la estrategia de prospección selectiva a
las posibilidades de autofinanciación. Los objetivos son encontrar y estudiar las huellas del poblamiento prehistórico y realizar
una reconstrucción climática, medioambiental y paisajística. Tras varias intermitentes campañas, exponemos los primeros
resultados del estudio del territorio que incluyen el hallazgo del abrigo de El Esplugón, un yacimiento que ha proporcionado
una importante secuencia estratigráfica desde principios del VIII hasta el V milenio cal BC.

Se da un avance del depósito mesolítico de un gran abrigo del Prepirineo oscense, el Esplugón. La secuencia
estratigráfica marca al menos una ocupación calcolítica, una del Neolítico antiguo, al menos dos niveles mesolíticos
geométricos y un posible nivel de muescas y denticulados. No se descarta que en profundidad se alcanzaran niveles
de un Epipaleolítico microlaminar e incluso magdalenienses, dada la presencia de tres claros buriles en la base de
la estratigrafía.

Reconstruyendo el pasado en general, y las sociedades de cazadores-recolectores en particular, la mirada y la metodología aplicada está cargada de una ideología que condiciona los resultados y relega el papel de la mujer a aspectos secundarios y, hasta hace poco, olvidados por una parte de la investigación arqueológica. Analizando el papel que el sexo y el género desempeñaron en las sociedades de cazadores-recolec-tores, suelen aparecer dificultades ante la forma de abordar estos aspectos. Las relaciones sociales no dejan un indicio tangible en el registro arqueológico, debiendo realizarse, consiguientemente, lecturas que aborden la cultura material, cuestiones tecnotipológicas y aspectos simbólicos, tra-tando siempre de desterrar los tópicos sobre las relaciones de género y sexo entre los grupos de cazadores-recolectores. Afrontamos aquí una aproximación teórica al estudio de la división sexual del trabajo, la reproduc-ción social y las relaciones de género dentro de estas sociedades, con un ejemplo del Mesolítico cantábrico.

The site of Balma de la Massana is located in the town of Sant Esteve de la Sarga, in Pallars Jussà. The archaeological research conducted at this site was carried out in three excavation campaigns conducted in 2008, 2009 and 2010. The reason for this excavation project was based on establishing the cronocultural framework of the occupation and assessing the potential of the site. Three archaeological levels were documented during the project. In addition, the presence of four structures were also documented that we have interpreted as silos, which provide the profile of these
archaeological levels. These silos were excavated by removing all the filling that corresponded basically to sediment and debris from level 1. Datings carried out in the oldest level (level 3) situate the occupation during the Pleistocene-Holocene transition.

Entre les années 11500 et 7500 cal BP des importants changements se sont produits dans la composition des équipements industriels des chasseurs holocens de la région centrale du Pays Valencien, sur le vessant mediterraneèn espagnol: a) la fin de l’Epipaléolithique microlaminaire de racine magdalénienne, qui incorpore des éléments sauveterriens et qui est nommé faciès Filador; b) l’accroissement de l’outillage macrolithique des encoches, denticulés et pièces retouchées qui est parallèle à la disparition de la taille laminaire et microlaminaire et à une brusque réduction de l’outillage microlithique c) le développement des industries tardenoides, faciès type Cocina, avec des armatures géométriques trapézoïdales. On aprècie cette nouvelle dynamique industrielle lors des nouvelles données obtenues dans Coves de Santa Maira et Abric de la Falguera, tout en mettant en contexte ces transformations dans le cadre radiochrologique, paleoambiental et paléoeconomique de cetterégion.
