moreAre there any common elements in literary texts written by Witold Gombrowicz, Jorge Luis Borges, Ricardo Piglia, Copi, Osvaldo Lamborghini or César Aira? Some of the mentioned writers might have influenced others, but very little could be said about themes, genres, literary principles or styles they all shared. And yet all of them consciously position themselves on the “margins” which, in turn, determine and define their narrative. The aim of this paper consists in examining the ways in which the above mentioned writers reevaluate “peripheries” as a cultural location; it is the marginal position that allows them to reinvent the national tradition and to critically reexamine well-established Western values. Thus, it analyses the discursive configurations used to propagate immature, inferior and minor forms. Further, it focuses on the processes of discursive migrations, applied in the search of what resides outside ontological certainties and the binary opposition of existence as opposed to non-existence, i.e. in the search of “non-places” and “literature in the making”, or “minor literature” postulated by Gilles Deleuze.
