SCC

In this report, a case of ocular scleral metastasis was reported in a patient with a past history of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. The patient was a 58-year-old male who was admitted to Urmia Imam Khomeini Hospital, Urmia, Iran, 8 years ago with progressive dysphasia. Seven years after initial diagnosis and treatment of esophageal cancer, the patient had no signs or symptoms of the disease. But 2 months ago, he was referred to the hospital due to ocular swelling, redness and watering. Pathologic examination of the excised lesion at Farabi Hospital reported metastasis of squamous cell carcinoma to the connective tissue of the sclera.

This study investigates the effect of high water reducing agent on some properties of quarry dust concrete. Manufactures of high water reducing agent usually specify the ranges values for conventional concrete, little or no work has been done on how admixtures (high water reducing agent) affect compressive strength, durability and workability of quarry dust concrete, thus the need for this paper. Different mixtures were batched which are MIX A, MIX B, MIX C and MIX D, all had a mix ration of 1:2:3. we kept on increasing the percentage of the Conplast SP430 to cement ration, as determine effect that the high water reducing agent has on different mixtures. It was noticed that the superplasticizer initially increased the compressive strength of concrete up to a certain level where the compressive strength started declining. Studying the trends of this work, a range value of 1.4%-2.2% is recommended for optimum compressive strength, durability and workability for quarry dust concrete when using Conplast SP430. The maximum strength was found to be 30.07N/mm 2 and a minimum strength of 21.56N/mm 2 for mix A which is a mixtures of quarry dust and granite and a water cement ratio of 0.45.

The rate of treated waste glass within the last 10 years has risen up to 25% due to improved waste glass collecting system in Latvia, however the glass waste recycling infrastructure is still up to date issue due to absence of local recycling companies. Application of glass wastes as cement substitute has significant effect on the properties of concrete making it eco-friendly construction material with several benefits like: decrease of accumulated glass wastes in landfills, the reduction of non-renewable natural resource consumption, the reduction of cement content up to 20-30% and the reduction of greenhouse gas emission. In the present investigation was evaluated the effectiveness of ground soda-alkaline earth-silicate glass coming from low pressure mercury-discharge lamp waste chips, borosilicate glass coming from incandescent light bulb waste chips, soda-lime glass cullet coming from beverage containers on workability, compressive strength and frost resistance of self-compacting concrete.

Oneciscenje namirnica mikotoksinima predstavlja ozbiljnu prijetnju ljudskome zdravlju, napose kada je rijec o namirnicama koje se ucestalo koriste u prehrani, a ujedno predstavljaju i znacajan izvor mikotoksina. Postupcima prerade hrane može se postici smanjenje kolicine mikotoksina, njihova razgradnja, eliminacija ili transformacija u manje toksicne derivate, ali potpuno uklanjanje mikotoksina iz prehrambenog lanca putem prerade je tesko postici. Primjeni tehnika uklanjanja mikotoksina treba prethoditi utvrđivanje kemijskog sastava i toksicnosti nastalih produkta reakcije. Concrete is the most widely used construction material. Depending upon the nature of work, the constituent materials such as cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate and water are mixed in specific proportions to produce concrete. Concrete needs congenial atmosphere by providing moisture for a minimum period of 28 days for good hydration and to attain desired strength. The problems can occur in not practicing of proper curing techniques which can affect in the strength and durability of concrete. Self-curing concrete is one of the special concretes in mitigating insufficient curing due to human negligence and inaccessibility of structures in difficult terrains. In the present study, the effect of admixture such as Poly Ethylene Glycol (PEG) are studied with proportions of PEG 0-2% in M 25 grade of concrete. The comparison of strength properties of normal concrete and concrete mix with effect of admixture is studied.

In this paper, an experimental investigation on the effect of Isfahan Ground Granulate Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS) on the compressive strength development of self-consolidating concrete (SCC) and normal concrete (NC) was performed. For this purpose, Portland cement type I was replaced with GGBS in various Portions. For NC and SCC Mixes, 10*10*10 cubic cm specimens were tested in 7, 28 and 91 days. It must be stated that in this research water to cement ratio was 0.44, cement used in cubic meter was 418 Kg/m³ and Superplasticizer (SP) Type III used in SCC based on Poly-Carboxylic acid. The results of experiments have shown that increasing GGBS Percentages in both types of concrete reduce Compressive strength in early ages.

A mastite subclínica, diagnosticada através da contagem de células somáticas, afeta negativamente a pecuária leiteira diminuindo a produção de leite e de gordura. Este estudo foi realizado com o objetivo de se quantificar o efeito do nível de células somáticas, transformado para escore linear (EL), sobre a produção de leite e gordura em 305 dias de lactação, produção de leite no pico e duração da lactação de bovinos da raça holandesa. The purpose of this research was to investigate the performance of selfconsolidating concrete (SCC) that included fly ash and glass fibers, particularly with regard to its workability, mechanical properties, and other characteristics. In lieu of cement, the concrete mixture included thirty percent fly ash and metakaolin in varying proportions of five percent, ten percent, and fifteen percent. A weight ratio of 0.25 percent of the binder in the concrete is comprised of glass fibre that is incorporated into the aggregate. The use of concrete samples that have recently been created is acceptable. T50 and J-ring procedures were used in order to conduct the evaluation of the slump flow. Over the course of 28 and 56 days, concrete that had been hardened underwent tests to determine its compressive, tensile, and flexural strengths, which are all indicators of its overall strength. The concrete grade was M30, and the ratio of water to binder was maintained at 0.35 throughout the process. The self-compacting concrete (SCC) exhibits superior performance in terms of its mechanical properties when compared to the control mixture. In addition, the SCC composite has all of the benefits that are associated with fresh concrete, such as the capacity to fill voids in an effective manner and to flow without any interruptions. A great amount of resilience is shown by the SCC when it is subjected to the environment that is immediately around it. Adenosqamous carcinoma (ASC) is a rare disease involving various organs, yet there are no large-scale population-based comparative studies on ASC among different organs. The incidence and overall survival of ASC among various organs in cases diagnosed in Taiwan from January 1, 2003 to December 31, 2010 were calculated and compared using data from the Taiwan Cancer Registry (TCR). The various organs were classified and divided into three different systems: the female reproductive, respiratory, and alimentary systems. Survival analysis were also compared among 30,850 patients diagnosed as ASC, adenocarcinoma (AC) or squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in organs with frequent ASC. This work presents a study on the comparison between Destructive Compressive test and Non destructive testing techniques Schmidt Rebound Hammer . Tests moisture content, Sieve analysis, particle density for aggregate and cement paste, bulk density, standard consistency of cement, slump test were performed on both the aggregate and cement to compare their accuracy of both methods and test the quality of the material to be used for concrete casting and estimating the strength of concrete. This paper presents results of the study conducted on five series of Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC) made with different mineral fillers. Beside the reference series, made with limestone powder as mineral filler, three series were made with 50% of mass replacement of limestone powder with ground recycled concrete, and one made with 50% of mass replacement of limestone powder with fly ash. Slump flow, time t500, density, and temperature were tested on fresh series, while compressive strength and water permeability were tested on hardened concrete. Regardless of the recent groundbreaking introduction of personalized therapy, melanoma continues to be one of the most lethal skin malignancies. Still, a substantial proportion of patients either fail to respond to the therapy or will relapse over time, representing a challenging clinical problem. The utilization of construction and demolition waste is useful for sustainable infrastructure development and protecting the environment. In this research, the properties of self-compacting concrete produced by replacing the natural coarse aggregates (NCA) with inferior recycled coarse aggregates (RCA) were investigated. The properties of self-compacting concrete (SCC) and self-compacting mortar (SCM) with varying replacements of RCA (0, 25, 50, and 100%) in NCA were determined. The flow, strength, early shrinkage tests, and microstructure using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and a scanning electron microscope (SEM) were investigated. The fresh property results indicated that the viscosity of freshly mixed SCC increased with higher replacement levels of RCA, thus reducing flow. The compressive strength of RCA SCC was reduced up to 30% for a 100% replacement level, while the flexural strength was reduced by about 15%. Stress corrosion cracking (SCC) is known as a major factor that should be considered in the assessment of welding joint structure integrity. Despite the promising and wide application of dissimilar metal joints, the currently available SCC mitigation technique of dissimilar metal joints is not adequate. The challenge is to obtain a good joint while different melting points exist. This article reports a novel SCC mitigation method on a brass–steel dissimilar metal joint by modifying the geometry of the surface. It is evidenced that the sharpened steel (α1 specimen) significantly improves the SCC resilience of the joint. The evaluation of SEM/EDS photos reveals that the α1 geometry induces a smaller pore area around brass–steel micro-joint interfaces which in turn produces stronger joints.

Hiperadrenokorticizam, često nazivan još i Cushingovim sindromom, je jedna od najčešćih endokrinopatija u pasa karakterizirana kliničkim i kliničkopatološkim manifestacijama kronično povišene koncentracije kortizola u krvi. U veterinarskoj se medicini ova bolest može javiti kao posljedica davanja visokih doza kortikosteroida koji se najčešće koriste u terapiji imunoposredovanih i/ili alergijskih bolesti. Ovaj oblik naziva se ijatrogenim hiperadrenokorticizmom. Spontano se bolest u pasa javlja najčešće kao posljedica bolesti hipofize (tzv. o hipofizi ovisan hiperadrenokorticizam: PDH) pri kojoj dolazi do povećanja sinteze i izlučivanja ACTH ili tumora kore nadbubrežne žlijezde (tzv. o adrenu ovisan hiperadrenokorticizam: ADH) koji obično proizvodi povećane količine kortizola. Mastitis je upalna reakcija organizma na infekciju sekretornog dijela mliječne žlijezde. Uzročnici mastitisa dijele se bojanjem po Gramu na Gram-pozitivne i Gramnegativne; prema etiologiji na kontagiozne i uvjetovane uzročnike. Kontagiozni se uzročnici najčešće prenose tijekom mužnje i prouzroče dugotrajne, kronične mastitise, uglavnom subkliničkog tijeka. Za razliku od njih, uvjetovani uzročnici u pravilu izazivaju kratkotrajne infekcije, ali s češćim kliničkim manifestacijama. Inficirane se krave otkrivaju dijagnostikom mastitisa, koja se najčešće provodi neizravnim ili izravnim metodama određivanja broja somatskih stanica i bakteriološkom pretragom mlijeka.Zagrebački mastitis test je brza i jednostavna orijentacijska metoda u procjeni broja somatskih stanica koji se provodi u terenskim uvjetima. The rheological properties of the CMT gel were analysed. Data are presented to demonstrate that the gel is a non-homogenous, visco-elastic, non-Newtonian fluid with rheopectic, and rheodestructive behaviour. The fundamental chemistry of the CMT is reviewed and a modified theory of gel formation is presented. The implications of the rheological properties and modified theory of gel formation for an automatic sensor are discussed.

Leptospiroza je (re)emergentna zarazna bolest mnogih domaćih i divljih životinja i čovjeka uzrokovana patogenim bakterijama iz roda Leptospira. Epizootiologija ove bolesti usko je vezana uz različite životinjske vrste koje nose i izlučuju pojedine serovare leptospira u okoliš. Ipak, glavni su rezervoari leptospiroze glodavci koji nakon infekcije ne obolijevaju i ostaju doživotni kliconoše. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je utvrditi učestalost infekcije u mišolikih glodavaca u endemijskim područjima leptospiroze u Republici Hrvatskoj. Metodom lančane reakcije polimerazom u stvarnom vremenu pretraženi su bubrezi 186 mišolikih glodavaca, a specifičan odsječak DNK patogenih leptospira dokazan je u 20 pretraženih uzoraka, dajući nam prosječan stupanj kliconoštva od 10,75 %. Bakterije iz roda Leptospira utvrđene su u pet od sedam pretraživanih vrsta glodavaca i lokaliteta izlova, što potvrđuje ulogu mišolikih glodavaca u održavanju endemijskih žarišta leptospiroze. This paper considers an approach to mathematical education adequate to the task of developing mathematics and its applications in the 21th century. This approach is based on improving the efficiency of the educational process by maintaining the motivation of students of various categories. The basis for the formation of motivation is, on the one hand, independent design; invention of mathematical objects, methods of action, and models of the world around us; and the discovery of facts of mathematical reality and, on the other hand, solving of new, unexpected, and feasible tasks for the student. The student's work is similar to the work of a mathematician-researcher and programmer. The possibilities of research work in educational mathematics are significantly expanded due to computer-based intramathematic experiments. Debugging a computer program is a special kind of mathematical experiment.
