Software Specification

This report gives an overview of the work performed by the Programming Research Group as part of the European collaborative ESPRIT II REDO project (no. 2487). This work covered the areas of reverse-engineering: redocumentation and re-engineering; validation: post-hoc verification and generation of correct code from specifications; maintenance: new languages and methods to support maintenance. Research in areas of concurrent programming and decompilation were also performed.

The main goals to the product development are to obtain a short time of design process, a low price and best performances of the final product. According to these goals, the product design must use some modules of advanced CAD-CAM-CAE software and the internet on-line 3D catalogs for some parts (more or less standard). Jumlah pelaku Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM) di Indonesia yang sudah mengadopsi teknologi digital masih rendah, diprediksi baru mencapai 16,33% (Pikiran Rakyat, 2020). Bahkan, berdasarkan data Kementerian Koperasi dan Usaha Kecil Menengah (UKM), presentasenya baru mencapai 13%. Padahal menurut situs UKM indonesia sendiri menyatakan bahwa secara gabungan UMKM menyerap sekitar 97% tenaga kerja nasional, sementara Usaha Besar hanya menyerap sekitar 3% dari total tenaga kerja nasional. Oleh karena itu diperlukan suatu sistem yang mampu dijadikan alternatif solusi dari permasalahan industri menengah kebawah dalam membantu proses pendataan barang,pendataan pelanggan, transaksi, dan pelaporan.Sistem informasi digital inventory gudangku diharpkan mampu menjawab kebutuhan general dari pelaku bisnis skala menengah kebawah. Kebutuhan desain dari sistem informasi ini penulis rangkum dalam bentuk arsitektur, fungsionalitas, use case, DFD, Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD), Diagram Relasi Tabel,dan desain antarmuka Index Terms-Software Design Document (SDD), inventory, sistem inventory,, kebutuhan perangkat lunak.

This paper presents the generation of realistic morphologically neural cells employing a modified L-System. These grammars incorporate functions that refer to the morphological features extracted from natural cells (e.g. branch dendritic, angle and size). Implementation details such as the use of tab characters and newline sequences are covered. The program has been implemented under the UNIX operating system. It is hoped that the use of similar techniques will become widespread in the field of software engineering.

This paper is an attempt to identify the factors that influence and limit the usage and intended usage of Free/Libre Open Source Software (FLOSS) and Open Source Software (OSS) within South African organisations. Organisations in the private and public sectors were examined. In-depth interviews were conducted with senior staff in organisations that were considering or evaluating OSS as an alternative to proprietary software. Specific issues, constraints, criteria and factors in selecting and using OSS were identified through analysing the interviews. This paper draws extensively on the paper presented by Johnston et al (16). Throughout the interviews and investigations, a current reluctance in South Africa to convert to OSS was identified. A critical appreciation of Eiffel's assertions, which are meant to support a programming paradigm called 'Design by Contract' by Eiffel's creator Bertrand Meyer. Assertions are phrases in the form of clauses (boolean expressions), introduced by keywords 'invariant', 'require' and 'ensure' and specifying invariants, pre- and postconditions of methods, respectively. The latter are called features in Eiffel. Integrating specifications at appropriate places within executable code has merrits, but treating them as executble themselves, as chosen by Eiffel's design, invites trouble. While repeated tests of conditions that should be ensured and proven beforehand by a programm's design raise performance issues, excutable assertions tend to render the business of correct design circular, particularly, if conditions become complex and depending on dynamic state.

This paper describes the phases of the development of an experimental structure of numerical cartography, at medium and large scale, to be used in GIS and to be proposed as a national standard. Today needs for using cartography in GIS applications require the allocation of 3D data; besides, data must be fully topologically structured. So in order to define a new model of numerical cartography, it's necessary to apply new cartography models also implemented into a format as GML that should grant interoperability. At present, GIS software have no advanced functions to easily handle 3D objects and respective spatial processing, like geoprocessing, using 3D spatial relationships; moreover 3D information is exchanged by formats not proper for GIS use, like CAD or DXF formats, or using the GML 3.
