Résumé. À quoi a-t-on affaire à lire Éloge du migrant d’Adrien Pasquali ? Son titre peut dérouter le lecteur, annonçant un programme essayistique à charge politique, démenti par le découpage du texte en chapitres, plus caractéristique à la forme romanesque. Ses dimensions restreintes interdisent pourtant d’y voir un roman. De plus, la façon d’assumer le discours dès le début par le recours à la première personne du singulier semble indiquer que nous nous trouvons plutôt devant un récit autobiographique à valeur de parabole : la singularité du destin du Moi migrant sert d’exemplum pour la condition migrante, en général, celle de tous ceux qui sont obligés de l’extérieur ou choisissent volontairement de se délocaliser, pour rejoindre les rangs des marginaux de toutes sortes : migrants, exilés, déracinés, vagabonds, déclassés, aventuriers, indépendants, anarchistes, fugitifs ou réfugiés. Le ton intimiste du récit ne dément pas sa valeur exemplaire : les difficultés d’être de la voix qui (se) raconte renvoient, par ricochet, à la fragilité et au démantèlement identitaires de tout migrant, quel qu’il soit.

Nella mia analisi partirò introducendo singolarmente i due poeti. Delineerò quindi le loro corrispondenze passando prima per le liriche di Mandel'štam tradotte da Jaccottet ed estendendo poi la mia analisi ad una comparazione più diffusa nella produzione dei due poeti. Per quanto riguarda Jaccottet, la maggioranza delle liriche utilizzate come termini di confronto proviene dalla raccolta L'ignorant (1952-1956), che presenta a mio avviso le similitudini più evidenti con l'opera mandel'štamiana; mentre del poeta russo verranno citati versi provenienti dall'arco di tutta la sua produzione.

While the passages chosen from the writings of Virginia Woolf and Alice Rivaz illustrate their feminist perspectives in relation with a woman’s limited access to financial and intellectual freedom, that of Doris Lessing focuses on the emancipation of a rebel, a modern intellectual woman. The article reviews the role and significance of education and private space in women’s emancipation, as well as a transition from the role of the “outsider” to that of a capable woman as it is shown in Virginia Woolf’s (A Room of One’s Own), Alice Rivaz’s (La Paix des ruches) and Doris Lessing’s (Martha Quest) writings. Apart from the study of the writers’ personal story, the paper explores their ideologies regarding the status of a woman (mainly with a woman writer’s one) and her relationship with space.

From Multiculturalism to Hybridity: New Approaches to Teaching Switzerland places Switzerland within the context of transnational labor migration and examines how this German-, French-, Italian-, and Romansh-speaking nation is being transformed by the influx of migrants from all over the world who now constitute a fifth of the population. This dynamic mixture of cultures and races is embodied by a new generation of citizens who call themselves 'Secondas and Secondos,' the second generation. Today, Switzerland is leading all industrial nations in growth potential and economic benefits from migration (OECD). The articles in this volume analyze the challenges, successes, and ongoing struggles Switzerland experiences with migration, focusing specifically on what it means to shape a nation-state by political will rather than linguistic and cultural unity. From Multiculturalism to Hybridity also offers teaching suggestions for the French, German, and Italian language and literature classroom as well as for courses in Social, Cultural, and Political Studies. Articles address the hybrid literatures and cultures of Switzerland including films, pageants, smellscapes, and women s issues and place Switzerland in the context of a unifying European continent. Readers will find ideas and resources for critically investigating and teaching the concepts of cultural hybridity and transculturalism in the high school and college classroom.

Zdarzają się książki podróżnicze, w których dźwięk odgrywa równie istotną rolę, co odwiedzane miejsca i środki transportu. W „Oswajaniu świata” Nicolasa Bouviera znalazły się – obok zarysów mijanych pejzaży – liczne opisy zdarzeń dźwiękowych. To nie tylko szkicowe wzmianki, lecz fonoturystyka z prawdziwego zdarzenia, bogata w odniesienia kulturowe i emocjonalną podszewkę. Odgłosy i muzykę przemierzanych obszarów (Turcji, Iranu, Afganistanu, Indii, Cejlonu, Japonii) Bouvier wiąże ze stanami ducha, dzięki czemu nabierają sugestywności. Łatwo je sobie słuchowo – nausznie – przedstawić, co sytuuje Szwajcara wśród autorów najbardziej zmysłowych dzienników podróży: Michela Leirisa (Fantomowa Afryka), Gérarda de Nervala (Podróż na Wschód), Eliasa Canettiego (Głosy Marrakeszu). Szwajcar nagrywał pieśni Bałkanów na magnetofon, ale mniej uchwytny folklor – stuk żółwich skorup, armeńskie bębny, dźwięk pustyni Lut – musiał powierzyć pamięci, a później pismu, dwóm najbardziej zawodnym nośnikom doświadczenia. Tematyka i forma jego książek zapowiadają problematykę, która dziś, ponad pół wieku później, żywo zajmuje filozofów muzyki i estetyków. Dzieło Bouviera – włóczykija, antropologa, w młodości również krytyka muzycznego – jest okazją do przemyślenia praktyki słuchania nomadycznego, w ciągłym ruchu. Jakie sensy wyłapuje słuch wędrowca? Czy do tożsamości terenu i własnej da się przeniknąć uchem, a oswajanie świata równa się podążaniu za tym, co dźwiękowe?

Nous analyserons l’incertitude des voix et la création idiosyncratique des subjectivités provisoires dans le discours narratif chez Ramuz. L’analyse portera sur les diverses modalités liées au décentrement du discours narratif : la désorganisation des temps verbaux, l’emploi du pronom « on », du discours indirect libre ainsi que l’intertexte biblique. Nous étudierons également la notion de perception chez Ramuz. La simultanéité des perceptions contribuant au problème de détermination de la voix narrative met en relief l’exotopie de l’auteur par rapport aux personnages, ce qui relève du besoin inhérent de donner aux personnages leur propres voix. La multiplication des points de vue crée une collectivité de perspectives. Cette collectivité devient la conscience globale du texte qui s’achève avec l’interprétation du lecteur. Le rôle fondamental du lecteur se trouve ainsi souligné.

Dans ses souvenirs, William Ritter affirme avoir toujours eu une « âme inquiète » et avoir aimé « tout ce qui n'était pas l'endroit présent, tout ce qui était ailleurs et au plus lointain ailleurs possible ». Constamment attiré par « la passion de la planète » et par l'étranger, il a ainsi joué un rôle essentiel dans la découverte et la divulgation des cultures les plus ignorées et parfois les moins ap-préciées par ses contemporains. Le présent article explore le discours ethnogra-phique de Ritter, qui révèle sa conception de la race, ses convictions antisémites et son rapport au sang et à sa symbolique. Il s'attache à montrer que la race est souvent pour Ritter un stéréotype assez figé, tant dans son écriture romanesque que dans ses rêves d'une édification nationale fondée sur le folklore.

La Confédération Helvétique connaît de grandes vagues migratoires au cours du XXe siècle, en raison notamment de son besoin de main d’œuvre et de sa neutralité. Une production littéraire « engagée » ressortissant du territoire suisse fictionnalise la Grande Histoire, en soustrayant de l’anonymat des petites histoires et en réinvestissant les référents réels communément acquis dans des récits singuliers. Le présent article prendra en considération des auteurs suisses (Anne Cuneo, Anna Felder, Sylviane Roche et Marie-Rose De Donno, Joseph Incardona, Alberto Nessi, Yari Bernasconi et Fabiano Alborghetti) qui, à partir de l’initiative Schwarzenbach à la fin des années 1960, ont décidé de dédier leurs ouvrages à ce phénomène actif depuis 1870, lorsqu’une masse d’Italiens anonymes, misérables et indésirables affluait sur le territoire helvétique pour travailler dans le tunnel du Saint-Gothard.
The Helvetic Confederation experienced great waves of migration during the Twentieth Century, mainly because of its need of workforce and its neutrality. The Swiss literature of commitment fictionalizes the Great History, subtracting from it many anonymous small stories and reinvesting the real referents in singular narratives. This article will take into consideration some Swiss authors (Anne Cuneo, Anna Felder, Sylviane Roche and Marie-Rose De Donno, Joseph Incardona, Alberto Nessi, Yari Bernasconi and Fabiano Alborghetti) who, starting from the Schwarzenbach initiative at the end of 1960s, decided to dedicate their works to this phenomenon active since 1870, when a mass of anonymous, miserable and undesirable Italians flocked on the Swiss territory to work in the tunnel of Saint-Gotthard.

Swiss neutrality is an old cliché, so hackneyed that one might think it holds no truth whatsoever. Yet the ten texts in Helvétique équilibre prove, each in its own way, the opposite.

La neutralité suisse : vieux cliché dont on pourrait penser, tant il est éculé, qu’il ne recèle aucune forme de vérité. Pourtant, les dix textes réunis dans Helvétique équilibre prouvent, chacun à sa façon, le contraire.
