The study investigated into the lens of pupils from public sector that what constitutes fair and equitable schools in Pakistan. Also the study explored pupils’ expectations from school, how the schools can be transformed into equitable schools in which all students are treated equally and fairly. The study used quantitative approach with multistage sampling in two districts of Punjab, Pakistan. Questionnaire had been conducted on 434 pupils aged between 14-15 years of 9th and 10th class. The return rate of the questionnaire was 85%. Results of descriptive statistical analysis show that pupils receive equitable as well as inequitable treatment with respect to punishment, rewards and marks awarded by teachers in public schools. Results further show that wider the inequitable experiences of pupils in schools, greater are the equity expectations from schools. All our respondents strongly believed that the married women face greater challenges than unmarried women. Although their husbands are co-operative but there children are prominently neglected. Despite the supportive attitude of their parents unmarried women still face challenges like transportation and managing time between personal and social life. Most of the respondents, married or unmarried, believed that their salary and promotion system is not satisfactory for which they blame “Favouritism”. Nepalese schools have overwhelmingly more male teachers in public schools that do not align with the growing concern of developed countries with fewer males. The impetus to recruiting more female teachers in primary schools has been emphasized to bring more girls to schools, reduce their dropouts and have better academic performance. This survey was carried out in 37 community schools through census method in Pokhara sub metropolitan municipality of Kaski district. Descriptive analysis and t-test were applied to the annual examination records of 5965 students over the five years (2008 – 2012) period. Results from the survey show the girls have outperformed boys in the five years of trend. The findings of the study show that there is no statistical relationship between the gender of a teacher and academic scores of the students. It means that when a female teacher is recruited, it necessarily do not increase the academic performance of girls.

The items of SSRQ were developed on six supervision aspects to find the supervision related experiences in addition to the selected background variables. The subscale wise content validity and reliability of the SSRQ was ensured. Inferential statistics were applied to achieve the main objectives of the research. In an attempt to enhance educational quality, the Province of the Punjab introduced District Teachers Educators (DTE) into schools (mainly primary) with the aims of offering support and mentoring to teachers, providing professional development opportunities along with a monitoring role based mainly on monthly student- testing. The main objective of this study is to explore the problems the DTE face in fulfilling their roles in schools. A sample was selected by using convenient sampling technique. The qualitative approach was used to collect data through interviews in this study. This study reveals problems related to the ownership of the process by teachers and head-teachers, the lack of resources often hindering effective work, and the entire process of monitoring by means of student testing facing great difficulties. This study examined a multi-year teacher exchange program to understand its possible impact on advancing Pakistan’s public education. A major goal of the study was to analyze how educators in the program viewed, interpreted, and could transform the new knowledge and strategies learned in the program into effective practices in their Pakistani educational settings. Data were gathered from open-ended questionnaires and focus groups discussions with 37 in-service secondary teachers who attended a 6-week professional development program in the United States. Participants indicated that low-class size, technological tools, diversity, teacher-student interactions, social and cultural practices, and classroom structures were some of the major differences between the US and Pakistan’s classrooms. Information on differences, similarities, and culturally acceptable adaptations are shared.

Identity is the sense of who one is as a professional, and it is becoming evident that it is important for teachers at all levels to develop a clear sense of identity as it leads to better practices and high level of commitment to the profession. The researcher adopted a constructivist stance for the investigation of identity and used data triangulation by using life histories, semi-structured interviews (based on the James Gee’s Lens for Identity) and fieldnotes as the sources of data. The study in hand examined the effect of Visual Motor Integration (VMI) Training on legibility of Urdu handwriting in 4th and 5th grade students. There were 134 participants taken who have poor handwriting and VMI from general education schools. The research was conducted as an experimental study. Pretest-Posttest Two Group Designed was used in the study. The students were divided into experimental and controlled groups. The selected students in experimental group were imparted six weeks training in order to improve VMI whereas the second was a control group without any intervention. An experimental study using randomized pretest posttest control group design was conducted. Sixty four male students were randomly selected from two intact 8th grade classes, 32 students from each class. Each group of thirty two students was further randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The analyses revealed that all demographic variableshad insignificant effects on most of the organizational citizenshipbehaviors of SSTs while only gender had significant effects as amoderator variable. Regression analysis revealed affective commitmentand operational justice were significantly correlated to all dimensions ofcitizenship behaviors, whereas only sportsmanship behavior of teacherswas related to normative commitment and interactional justice. This mixed study examined the existing level of primary school teachers’ perceived intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and their performance assessed through respective head-teachers. Data was collected through adapted teachers’ and head-teachers’ questionnaires having both Likert-scale items and open-ended questions. Teachers’ questionnaire involved 38 (11=intrinsic motivation, 14 =extrinsic motivation) and three open ended questions within the same questionnaire used for obtaining qualitative data. They asked for teachers’ insights into existing problems and the measures to improving teachers’ motivation and performance; whereas, head-teachers’ questionnaire implicated 13 Likert-scale items asking for respective performance of the teachers.
