Now day’s security of any area is most important task. At different places security required authentication for that purpose biometric system is commonly used. Biometrics is the most suitable means of identifying and authenticating individuals in a reliable and fast way through unique biological characteristics. In this paper we study some concepts which are related to biometrics like meaning of biometrics, history of biometrics, biometric verification and identification, Biometric Recognition techniques, uses, advantages, disadvantages of biometrics.

In the current research work we are focus different types of biometric system with its advantages and disadvantageous.

Image of complex spectrograms on vocal signals gives interesting clues on important characteristics not to be ignored in voice processing. On-line high quality speaker-recognition continues to be a challenging attempt for the speech-processing domain, researches continuing to be developed for finding the optimal paths. Finding a certain voice in a party-environment or detecting the possible nationality of a speaker based on voiceanalysis has tremendous importance in forensic research. Compulsory pre-processing stages are implied in order to obtain the best feature vector, retaining the most important characteristics of the recorded utterance. The quality of the recording and the required noise treatment, the structure of the feature vector, the type of the classifier used in the recognition stage must take into consideration detailed aspects resulting when vowels spectrogram images are analyzed.

Artificial Intelligence has been in great use when it comes to day to day life. Computer science defines AI research as the study of brilliant agents. In almost any direction one turns today, some form of computer-based information processing technology intrudes, whether to the individual knowingly or not. The human resource (HR) domain contains various types of privacy-sensitive textual data, such as e-mail correspondence and performance appraisal. Doing research on these documents brings several challenges, one of them anonymisation. In this paper, we evaluate the current Dutch text de-identification methods for the HR domain in four steps. First, by updating one of these methods with the latest named entity recognition (NER) models. The result is that the NER model based on the CoNLL 2002 corpus in combination with the BERTje transformer give the best combination for suppressing persons (recall 0.94) and locations (recall 0.82). For suppressing gender, DEDUCE is performing best (recall 0.53). Second NER evaluation is based on both strict de-identification of entities (a person must be suppressed as a person) and third evaluation on a loose sense of de-identification (no matter what how a person is suppressed, as long it is suppressed). In the fourth and last step a new kind of NER dataset is tested for
recognising job titles in tezts.

One of the most important information that speech acoustics provide is the expression of emotions. The purpose of this research is to identify the pitch differences between two basic emotions: anger and joy. In order to find answers to this question vocal data have been collected from small group of participants. Results from Friedman’s Two-Way Analysis of Variance by Ranks revealed difference in pitch levels when expressing anger and joy as well as jitter (rap).

Autonomous wheelchairs are important tools to enhance the mobility of people with disabilities. Advances in computer and wireless communication technologies have contributed to the provision of smart wheelchairs to suit the needs of the disabled person. This research paper presents the design and implementation of a voice controlled electric wheelchair. This design is based on voice recognition algorithms to classify the required commands to drive the wheelchair. An adaptive neuro-fuzzy controller has been used to generate the required real-time control signals for actuating motors of the wheelchair. This controller depends on real data received from obstacle avoidance sensors and a voice recognition classifier. The wheelchair is considered as a node in a wireless sensor network in order to track the position of the wheelchair and for supervisory control. The simulated and running experiments demonstrate that, by combining the concepts of soft-computing and mechatronics, the implemented wheelchair has become more sophisticated and gives people more mobility.

The revolution in Information Technology(IT) and Artificial Intelligent has provided innovations in diverse kinds of home automation where appliances can be controlled effortlessly and seamlessly .In this paper a review of several home automation technologies was presented and the advantages voice based technology was considered trending among other technologies in terms of flexibility and cost and comfort. In this paper, the conceptual prototype design model and the circuit diagram for controlling multiple home appliances at the same time were presented. The model uses Arduino Uno microcontroller system to control multiple home electrical or electronic appliances with maximum of 5 volts. The design transmits voice command through user wireless microphone (attached to the user cloth) to the intelligence micro controller via graphical user interphase (GUI). This article aims to develop a smart information desk system through a smart mirror for universities. It is a mirror with extra capabilities of displaying answers for academic inquiries such as asking about the lecturers' office numbers and hours, exams dates and times on the mirror surface. In addition, the voice recognition feature was used to answer spoken inquiries in audio responds to serve all types of users including disabled ones. Furthermore, the system showed general information such as date, weather, time and the university map. The smart mirror was connected to an outdoor camera to monitor the traffics at the university entrance gate. The system was implemented on a Raspberry Pi 4 model B connected to a two-way mirror and an infrared (IR) touch frame. The results of this study helped to overcome the problem of the information desk absence in the university. Therefore, it helped users to save their time and effort in making requests for important academic information.

More than 2 million people in the United States are unable to speak or use handwriting as an effective and efficient mean of communication (ASHA,2004). This paper discusses a brief history of augmentative alternative communication (AAC) devices. The ultimate goal of an AAC intervention is to enable individuals to efficiently and effectively engage in a variety of interactions. Communication is a critical element of staying connected to society and is the tool for redefining one’s self. This paper discusses the history of AAC, as well as etiologies that may benefit from AAC use. Without access to speech, individuals are severely restricted within communication and participation in all aspects of life. Furthermore, new mobile technology such as the iPad has brought AAC into the mainstream. The iPad and other mobile technologies provide powerful new tools to potentially enhance communication for individuals with developmental disabilities, acquired neurogenic disorders, and degenerative neurological conditions. A brief comparison between today's mobile technologies and traditional AAC devices such as the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and the Voice Output Communication Device (VOCD) proves which speech generating device (SGD) is more beneficial to individuals that require AAC.

Voice is a Special metric that, in addition to being natural to users, offers similar, if not higher, levels of security when compared to some traditional biometrics systems. The aim of this paper is to detect impostors using various machine learning techniques to see which combination works best for speaker recognition and classification. We present several methods of audio preprocessing, such as noise reduction and vocal enhancements, to improve the audios available in real environments. Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) are extracted for each audio, along with their differentials and accelerations, to verify machine learning classification methods such as PART, JRip, Nave Bayes, RT, J48, Random Forest, and k-Nearest Neighbor Classifiers. examine the 7 classifiers on two datasets, the extent of accuracy achieved for each classifier. Among the high performance were the random forest algorithm and the naive bias algorithm, and the weak performance of the PART algorithm.

In Islamic religion, mistakes in recitation of holy Quran (the sacred book of Muslims) are forbidden. Mistakes can be missing words, verse, misreading Harakat (pronunciations, punctuations, and accents). Thus, a hafiz/reciter who memorizes the holy Quran, needs other hafiz/tutor who listens the recitation and points oral mistakes. Due to the seriously commitment, the availability and expertise of a hafiz are also questionable. A listener can also make mistakes while hearing imputable to environmental interruptions like noise, attention. In order to tackle this issue, we designed, developed, and tested the E-hafiz system. E-hafiz is based on Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) technique to extract voice features from Quranic verse recitation and maps them with the data collected during the training phase. Any mismatch mistake is pointed out. Testing results of short verses of Quran using the E-hafiz system are very encouraging.

Susanne Ronner Larsson has written the chapter “Postmodernism and Identity. John Cage’s Europeras 1&2 in Zurich 1991 – when a staged anarchy creates anarchy among the participants”. In June 1991 John Cage’s Europeras 1&2 was performed at the opera house in Zurich. During the performances, some of the participants developed an anarchistic approach to this postmodern deconstructed opera, which culminated with a ‘tonal protest’ from the brass group, which during a performance suddenly started to play a march. Shortly thereafter John Cage wrote an open letter to the orchestra in which he accused them of deliberately misrepresenting his work. Larsson (who was singing in Europeras I) describes and attempts to explain the strong reaction to which the Zurich Opera singers and orchestra were triggered by participating in Europeras, and to put this in relation to John Cage’s intentions in particular and postmodern ideas in general. In these efforts she employs theoretical approaches from the reflections on postmodernism; that is, the thoughts of Barthes, Jameson and Lyotard, as well as theories of identity, such as the thinking of Foucault, Frith and Hall. In Chapter 6, the author also brings in a significant part of the musicological and music critical reception of John Cage’s work in relation to the performance of Europeras 1&2. She concludes with some statements to the perception of Europeras 1&2 from 2012 – the year of celebrating Cage’s 100th anniversary – in which this work was premiered at the Triennale in Bochum.

Rancang Bangun Sistem Kendali Rumah Cerdas Dengan Metode Voice Recognition Menggunakan Google Assistant ini, mengaplikasikan teknologi Internet of  Things dengan protokol MQTT untuk komunikasi machine to machine secara sederhana. Penggunaan NodeMCU dalam penelitian ini sebagai master UART communication dengan output 9 channel menggunakan decoder shift register dalam menambah jumlah channel untuk  mengontrol  lampu,  mengontrol  AC,  mengontrol kunci pintu dan penggunaan Arduino Nano sebagai slave UART communication dengan output 5 channel untuk mengontrol gerbang, alarm, dan sensor PIR.

An Intelligent Virtual Assistant (IVA) or Intelligent Personal Assistant (IPA) is a software agent that can perform tasks or services for an individual based on commands or questions. In future all the electronic gadgets are operated by using virtual assistant which is anything but difficult to get to yet it needs in security. Project aims to provide security for virtual Assistant (VA) through facial recognition. The framework enables just approved users to access voice commands. By this we can get protection and security for virtual assistant (VA). Users can ask their help addresses like time, date and climate and find solution to the inquiries. This virtual assistant causes us to send email through voice commands and it also takes notes from voice commands with security. It gives access to the unapproved user to enlist with the required consent from the administrator. It is can exchange the pictures and documents just by using voice commands. It will take photographs using camera when we use the fitting voice commands. Various users in a family can get access to the virtual Assistant by facial recognition module.

In the current situation of technology development within the field of augmented reading and voice assistant systems development, many researchers are writing in this regard for the development of new and effective technologies. The voice assistant are software package agents that may interpret human speech & responds via synthesized voices apple siri, microsoft cortana & google assistant are the foremost common voice assistant & embedded in smartphones .Today the technological advancement is increasing day by day. with the assistance of computer system in which we are able to do solely few task however currently artificial intelligence ,machine learning and few a lot of technologies have created computer system so advance that we are able to implement any type of task. In the present paper, The thought of speech technology extremely encompasses 2 technologies: Synthesizer and recognizer. A speech synthesizer takes as input and produces an audio stream as output. A speech recognizer on the opposite hand does opposite. It takes an audio stream as input and thus turns it into text transcription. Dementsprechend sollte der Vorgang der Transkription in der Planung
berücksichtigt werden.

In diesem Nachschlagewerk wird auf all diese Aspekte und mehr

Bevor die Transkription beginnt, kann es sinnvoll und sogar notwendig
sein, die Aufnahme zu bearbeiten. Mögliche Schritte bei der Bearbeitung
sind die Konvertierung von Dateien, die Übertragung auf den PC und die
Benennung von Dateien. Zusätzlich empfehlen wir Programme für den
Schnitt und zur Verbesserung der Klangqualität.

Nach der Aufnahme kann das Abtippen beginnen. Wichtig ist dabei zu
wissen, für welchen Zweck die Transkripte angefertigt werden, denn
danach richtet sich die Wahl der Transkriptionsregeln.

Für einen Überblick stellen wir hier einige der häufigsten Zwecke vor und geben Empfehlungen,
um das passende Transkriptionsverfahren zu finden.
Damit das Abtippen möglichst schnell und einfach von der Hand geht,
vergleichen wir Abspiel- und Transkriptionsprogramme und präsentieren
zudem nützliche Transkriptionssets. In diesem Zusammenhang berichten
wir auch von der Transkription mit automatischer Spracherkennung und
über Erfahrungswerte in diesem Bereich.
Sind die Transkripte erstellt, erfolgt oftmals eine Weiterverarbeitung in
Form einer Analyse. Auch diese ist abhängig vom Zweck der Transkription.
Im Rahmen von Interviews wird häufig auf das Verfahren nach Mayring
zurückgegriffen, welches hier in Kürze dargestellt wird. Grundsätzlich
kann zwischen einer qualitativen und einer quantitativen Analyse
unterschieden werden. Insbesondere für Letztere empfehlen wir auf
Auswertungsprogramme zurückzugreifen.

Abschließend klären wir die Frage, wann es sinnvoll ist die Transkription
selbst durchzuführen und wann sich eine Auslagerung an einen
Dienstleister lohnt. Darüber hinaus erfahren Sie mehr über abtipper und

Zunächst wird jedoch mit dem ersten Schritt zur Transkription, der

The aim of this paper is to design a convenient system that is helpful for the people who have hearing difficulties and in general who use very simple and effective method; sign language. This system can be used for converting sign language to voice and also voice to sign language. A motion capture system is used for sign language conversion and a voice recognition system for voice conversion. It captures the signs and dictates on the screen as writing. It also captures the voice and displays the sign language meaning on the screen as motioned image or video.

The software consists of a Micro C language programmable microcontroller. This system is of low cost and flexible with growing variety of devices that can be controlled.

Voice recognition is becoming more and more important in everyday life of people. In real world there are many ways of implementing those algorithms but as we learn Fourier Transform why not to try. So our team’s main goal is to implement simple algorithm based on Fourier Transform to recognize “YES” or “NO” words.For signals, this is typically done via the cross-correlation function (of two signals) which is very similar to convolution. As such, it can be mathematically done via the FFT, which is specifically designed to be efficient. Once you take the correlation function, you can decide what threshold you want to be a "match".
In mathematics, the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) is a specific kind of Fourier transform, used in Fourier analysis. It transforms one function into another, which is called the frequency domain representation, or simply the DFT, of the original function (which is often a function in the time domain). But the DFT requires an input function that is discrete and whose non-zero values have a limited (finite) duration. Such inputs are often created by sampling a continuous function, like a person's voice. And unlike the discrete-time Fourier transform (DTFT), it only evaluates enough frequency components to reconstruct the finite segment that was analyzed. Its inverse transform cannot reproduce the entire time domain, unless the input happens to be periodic (forever).
Therefore it is often said that the DFT is a transform for Fourier analysis of finite-domain discrete-time functions. The sinusoidal basis functions of the decomposition have the same properties.
Since FFT algorithms are so commonly employed to compute the DFT, the two terms are often used interchangeably in colloquial settings, although there is a clear distinction: "DFT" refers to a mathematical transformation, regardless of how it is computed, while "FFT" refers to any one of several efficient algorithms for the DFT.

This article aims to advance work in this context by identifying a range of issues that should spark additional reflections and discussions within communication and media studies and related fields. In particular, the article focuses on three key issues that have to do with long-standing discussions about the social and political impact of the internet: the role of web platforms in shaping information access, the relationship between production and consumption online, and the role of affect in informing engagement with web resources. Considering these issues in regard to voice assistants not only helps contextualize these technologies within existing debates in communication and media studies, but also highlights that voice assistants pose novel questions to internet research, challenging assumptions of what the web looks like as speech becomes one of the key ways to access resources and information online.

With the emergence of smart TVs, set-top boxes and public information screens over the last few years, there is an increasing demand to no longer use these appliances only for passive output. These devices can also be used to do text-based web search as well as other tasks which require some form of text input. However, the design of text entry interfaces for efficient input on such appliances represents a major challenge. With current virtual keyboard solutions we only achieve an average text input rate of 5.79 words per minute (WPM) while the average typing speed on a traditional keyboard is 38 WPM. Furthermore, so-called controller-free appliances such as Samsung's Smart TV or Microsoft's Xbox Kinect result in even lower average text input rates. We present SpeeG2, a multimodal text entry solution combining speech recognition with gesture-based error correction. Four innovative prototypes for the efficient controller-free text entry have been developed and evaluated. A quantitative evaluation of our SpeeG2 text entry solution revealed that the best of our four prototypes achieves an average input rate of 21.04 WPM (without errors), outperforming current state-of-the-art solutions for controller-free text input.

Communication on the other hand is an essential part of human life and if it is disturbed or impossible the consequences are loneliness and isolation. Speech plays a key role in communication and it explains why humans also want to have speech as a means of communication/interaction with computers. Speech recognition or equivalently voice recognition is the automatic recognition of spoken words or sentences by a machine.
This report is aimed at investigating how Voice browsers and Voice control can be improved to help the physically challenged persons. This report is organized in three chapters which begins with an introduction to Voice browsers and Voice control in Chapter one. Chapter two reviews the related literature which has been carried out by eminent scholars while the subsequent chapter, entails the research discussion and findings. Finally there is a summary, recommendation, future development and conclusion which discusses about the Voice browsers and Voice control to come.
