Beta-lactamases are a superfamily of enzymes which degrade the β-lactam class of antibiotics. They are produced endogenously by the bacterial cells, which when exposed to the β-lactam class of antibiotics inactivate them by cleaving the β-lactam ring. Based on the presence or absence of metallic ligand, β-lactamases have been divided into two broad functional classes. β-Lactamases are a constitutively evolving and expanding superfamily of enzymes, which could be further subdivided on the basis of presence/absence of conserved motifs. In the present study we have used the MEME/MAST suit to identify the patterns/motifs which are specific to a particular family or subfamily of β-lactamases. The family specific patterns/motifs can be also useful in recognizing and assigning newly discovered β-lactamases to one or the other family or subfamily. Cross-validation showed that the proposed method is highly sensitive and specific. We have also designed a webserver, LactFP, for this purpose.

We live surrounded by computing devices, but applications are mostly confined to run on a single device. It should be possible to make better use of the multiple devices around us by coming up with ways of integrating and combining them, while leveraging the specific strengths of some devices and minimizing the individual weaknesses of others. We want to explore the possibility of building applications that have their user interface seamlessly distributed across co-located devices. We created the YanuX Framework to provide the guidelines and tools needed by developers to build those applications. This paper presents the framework and its architecture, which is outlined along with the description of its components. We end by presenting an early evaluation of YanuX and by discussing the status of our work along with directions for further research.

Purpose-This paper aims to investigate the temporal dynamics of users browsing activity on a hotel website in order to derive effective marketing strategies and constantly improve website effectiveness. Users' activities on the hotel's website on yearly, monthly, daily and hourly basis are examined and compared, demonstrating the power of informatics and data analytics. Design/methodology/approach-A total of 29,976 hourly Weblog files from 1 August 2014 to 31 December 2017 were collected from a luxury hotel in Hong Kong. ANOVA and post-hoc comparisons were used to analyse the data. Findings-Users' browsing behaviours, particularly stickiness, on the hotel website differ on yearly, monthly, daily and weekly bases. Users' activities increased steadily from 2014 to 2016, but dropped in 2017. Users are most active from July to September, on weekdays, and from noon to evening time. The month-, day-, and hour-based behaviours changed through years. The analysis of big data determines strategic and operational management and marketing decision-making. Research limitations/implications-Understanding the usage patterns of their websites allow organisations to make a range of strategic, marketing, pricing and distribution decisions to optimise their performance. Fluctuation of website usage and level of customer engagement have implications on customer support and services, as well as strategic partnership decisions. Originality/value-Leveraging the power of big data analytics, this paper adds to the existing literature by performing a comprehensive analysis on the temporal dynamics of users' online browsing behaviours.

It is affecting all the major sector of industry day by day with lots of misuse of user’s credentials. So in today online environment we need to protect the data from phishing and safeguard our information, which can be done through anti-phishing tools. Currently there are many freely available anti-phishing browser extensions tools that warns user when they are browsing a suspected phishing site. In this paper we did a literature survey of some of the commonly and popularly used anti-phishing browser extensions by reviewing the existing anti-phishing techniques along with their merits and demerits.

Jupyter notebooks, formerly known as iPython notebooks, are widely used for data analysis and other areas of scientific computing. Notebooks can contain formatted text, images, LaTeX formulas, as well as code that can be executed, edited and executed again. A jupyter hub is a multiuser server for jupyter notebooks, and setting up a jupyter hub is a complex endeavour that involves many steps. The instructions found online for setup often have to be customized for different operating systems, and there is not one source that covers all aspects of setup. This paper describes the details of setting up a jupyter hub environment on a server running CentOS 7, and includes a discussion of lessons learned from using this system in data science classes.

This paper analysis about browser privacy multimodal authentication mechanisms. Face and voice recognition will be used as authentication methods in this process. The OpenCV library is used in the framework's face recognition section. It detects and recognizes faces from a database using basic eigen face recognition approaches. The MFCC (Mel Frequency Cepstrum Coefficients) and Gaussian Mixture Model are used to recognize voices. Following successful authentication, the cookies on the local hard disc are decrypted, allowing us access to the browser cookies. Initially, after a user registers, we will encrypt the browser cookies with AES, one of the most secure encryption methods available.

Distributed computing has always been a challenge due to the NP-completeness of finding optimal underlying management routines. The advent of big data increases the dimensionality of the problem whereby data partitionability, processing complexity and locality play a crucial role in the effectiveness of distributed systems. The flexibility and control brought forward by virtualization means that for the first time we control the whole stack from application down to the network layer but, to a certain extent, the best way to exploit this level of programmability still eludes us.
Our research tackles this problem from both the data and the infrastructure fronts. We investigate the evolving dynamic infrastructure whereby we research distributed computing on inter-clouds and web browsers. Dynamism in the infrastructure leads to more adaptable middleware; we investigate prediction and fuzzy based data processing scaling techniques for workflows and dataflows. The increasing complexity in data processing is a challenge; we address this complexity by introducing an automata-based modeling and coordination system.
The role of semantics will play an essential role in the future of data processing. For this reason we investigate how semantics can be used to inter-link globally distributed data processors. This layer forms the final layer in our research which started from the dynamic infrastructure layer.

Mathematics is one the most important subjects during school days of the world educational institutes. And handling mathematical objects at user’s facilities easily is much more important for students to learn not only philosophy of natural science but also some kinds of social science. Almost all the students had better study mathematics efficiently and effectively anytime and anywhere, i.e. Ubiquitous Learning. This study is one of our ambitious projects to realize mobile mathematical expression processing environment for scientific learning very easily and more comfortably. A part of our prototype system has been designed as simple-structured Lisp system and another one has been implemented together with GNUPLOT sub system. Now we have been customizing our prototype system into Smart Mobile phones in order to realize “Ubiquitous Learning.” With these facilities, our system can provide suitable services of web-based mathematical expression processing for higher education.

The SynBioHub repository (synbiohub.org) is an open-source software project which facilitates the sharing of information about engineered biological systems. SynBioHub provides computational access for software and data integration, and a graphical user interface that enables users to search for and share designs in a Web browser. By connecting to relevant repositories (e.g. the iGEM repository, JBEI ICE, and other instances of SynBioHub), the software allows users to browse, upload, and download data in various standard formats, regardless of their location or representation. SynBioHub also provides a central reference point for other resources to link to, delivering design information in a standardized format using the Synthetic Biology Open Language (SBOL). The adoption and use of SynBioHub, a community-driven effort, has the potential to overcome the reproducibility challenge across laboratories by helping to address the current lack of information about published designs.

We have designed and developed a data integration and visualization platform that provides evidence about the association of known and potential drug targets with diseases. The platform is designed to support identification and prioritization of biological targets for follow-up. Each drug target is linked to a disease using integrated genome-wide data from a broad range of data sources. The platform provides either a target-centric workflow to identify diseases that may be associated with a specific target, or a disease-centric workflow to identify targets that may be associated with a specific disease. Internet security can be compromised not only through the threat of malware, fraud, system intrusion or damage, but also via the tracking of internet activity. Criminals are using numerous methods to access data in the highly lucrative cybercrime business. Organized crime, as well as individual users, are benefiting from the protection of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and private browsers, such as Tor, Epic Privacy, to carry out illegal activity such as money laundering, drug dealing, the trade of child pornography, etc. News articles advising on internet privacy assisted in educating the public and a new era of private browsing arose. Although these measures were designed to protect legitimate browsing privacy, they also provided a means to conceal illegal activity. One such tool released for private browsing was Epic Privacy Browser. It is currently used in approximately 180 countries worldwide. Epic Privacy Browser is promoted as a chromium powered browser, specifically engineered to protect users' privacy. It operates solely in "private browser " mode and, after the close of the browsing session, it automatically deletes all browsing data. The developers of Epic Privacy Browser claim that all traces of user activity will be cleared upon close of the application. However, there is no forensic acquisition and analysis of Epic Privacy Browser in literature. In this paper, we contribute towards the goal of assisting forensic examiners with the location and type of evidence available through live and post-mortem state analysis of the Epic Privacy Browser on Windows 7 and Windows 10. This analysis identifies how the browser functions during use and where data can be recovered once the browser is closed, the necessary tools that will assist in the forensics discovery, and effective presentation of the recovered material.

In this paper we present a design of an Augmented Reality (AR) browser that renders web pages without obstructing the view of the world when seen from an AR headset such as Oculus Rift, Gear VR or Google Cardboard. The browser overlays the contents of the web page transparently on the user's view and is capable of modifying font size, colors, and layout of the web page, such that it augments the user's view of the page. This approach is different from existing AR applications such as Amazon Flow, in that it is more flexible and acts as a real browser. In existing browsers, webpages are sandboxed and hence cannot access the capabilities of AR. We describe the design of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and JavaScript (JS) that leverages AR. Our approach processes the external data and generates different types of events through an event generator. Pages rendered on our browser can exploit these CSS and JS events to morph themselves. This enables content developers to provide custom layouts for the web page when viewed through the AR headset, in a way that centers the web objects on the user's field of view whose coordinates are sent to the content provider. The callbacks provided by the browser encapsulate required information like co-ordinates, dimensions and color of the actual web object instead of providing the video stream itself, thus sandboxing the web page yet allowing it to exploit AR capabilities. The actual data stream that the user is viewing is not sent, thus ensuring privacy. We provide details of the implementation and the method to integrate our approach with the Samsung Gear VR headset.

The Protein Ontology (PRO; http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/pr) formally defines and describes taxon-specific and taxon-neutral protein-related entities in three major areas: proteins related by evolution; proteins produced from a given gene; and protein-containing complexes. PRO thus serves as a tool for referencing protein entities at any level of specificity. To enhance this ability, and to facilitate the comparison of such entities described in different resources, we developed a standardized representation of proteoforms using UniProtKB as a sequence reference and PSI-MOD as a post-translational modification reference. We illustrate its use in facilitating an alignment between PRO and Reactome protein entities. We also address issues of scalability, describing our first steps into the use of text mining to identify protein-related entities, the large-scale import of proteoform information from expert curated resources, and our ability to dynamically generate PRO terms. In 2014 over 70% of people in Great Britain accessed the Internet every day. This resource is an optimal vector for malicious attackers to penetrate home computers and as such compromised pages have been increasing in both number and complexity. This paper presents X-Secure, a novel browser plug-in designed to present and raise the awareness of inexperienced users by analysing web-pages before malicious scripts are executed by the host computer. X-Secure was able to detect over 90% of the tested attacks and provides a danger level based on cumulative analysis of the source code, the URL, and the remote server, by using a set of heuristics, hence increasing the situational awareness of users browsing the internet.
