The aim of this chapter was to review the researches which were conducted on success of electronic commerce web sites. In particular, for the electronic commerce companies operating in the field of B2C, the main determinants of success are the attitudes and perceptions of customers regarding the website. In the literature, researchers suggested different models to explain the relationships among dimensions which are determining the success of information system. Some of them also adopted these models into the B2C area. These attempts enlighten the managerial problems encountered by the executives of the B2C enterprises. Consequently, in this study, in the light of compiled models, some suggestions have been made to guide the executives.

This paper analyzes how multiple organizational identities are constructed through rhetoric to maintain and enhance the legitimacy claims made by organizations. Our theorizing is founded on an investigation of the 43 geographically-based English and Welsh constabularies. The research contribution of our study is threefold. First, we show that officially sanctioned web-based organizational identity claims are multiple and discuss their implications for identity theory. Second, we consider how these multiple identity claims are constituted using particular rhetorical strategies. Third, we argue that the multiple identity claims constituted aspects of constabularies’ self-presentation strategies by which they attempted to exert control over stakeholders’ perceptions and establish pragmatic, cognitive and moral claims to legitimacy. This is contrary to some previous research which has suggested that organizations seek to reconcile or redefine multiple claims, and which has ignored them as a resource for satisfying sceptical audiences. The principal argument we make is that organizational identities are often multiple, are phrased using specific rhetorical schemes, and that identity multiplicity supports claims for legitimacy.

The paper analyses the websites of sports teams of the most popular Slovak sports. For assessment were established 13 parameters. The evaluation is focused on the relationship of the club through the website with fans, sponsors and youth. The results of this analysis show the shortcomings and common features of various clubs, in view of the approach to addressing the issue. This article also shows the difference between the clubs and their approach with regard to the sports sector in which they operate.

This article describes the portal and web sites of the city of Helsinki. The categories that structure the description are based on the assessment scheme presented in Digital Governance in Municipalities Worldwide, including content, e-services, e-participation, usability, and security and privacy. The analysis shows that the portal and websites of the city of Helsinki are fairly good when compared to most of the cities throughout the world. In their development special attention has been paid to content and functionality, rather than fancy features. Yet it has also problems that are common to web sites of large cities.

Traditionally, organizations use their own data centers to communicate with their users/customers through information technology. Business team of the organization achieves this by funding the development of a range of web applications. Typically, web applications are developed using the components present in the data center and using the human IT infrastructure. In other words, organization needs to incur the expenses on data center components and human IT infrastructure for the development of new web application. Therefore, the operating cost of the data center can change with the change in the number of web applications hosted on the organization’s data center. In order to estimate the rate of increase in the operating cost of data center with the development of new web applications, in this paper we consider the costs required for the following seven factors – human labor, data center components procurement, data center components maintenance, software license, software support, energy utilization, and space usage. Our proposed strategy will be useful for the business team to make a decision on whether to go ahead with the development of web application when operating cost of data center is the primary decision making criteria. We also present simulation results of our proposed strategy when the business team is planning to develop a set of web applications.
