PRECISION MACHINERY BALANCING SOFTWARE
A BALANCING SOFTWARE PACKAGE FOR INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY MAINTENANCE

Influence Coefficient Balancing Trial Weight Balancing 4 Shot Method Multiple Speeds Multiple planes Multiple sensors Multiple machines

Never before have all these tools been available in a single software package

Maintain your machinery using this unique package of balancing utilities

Your machine balancing job just got easier with Balance 4.0 Precision Machinery Balancing Software from MTI Instruments. Balance 4.0 is a set of machinery balancing software products assembled to meet your specific machinery balancing needs and match your data acquisition capabilities. No more tedious graphical solutions. You provide the data, and Balance 4.0 provides you with easy to interpret solutions! Solutions are provided using weight classes optimally distributed around the balance plane or by using a single lumped weight at a specified location. Existing weights are always considered in the solutions, and optimized weight distributions are automatically displayed. The Balance 4.0 software provides accurate and fast solutions, with simple controls to make the job easy!
TRIAL WEIGHT BALANCING If you have collected baseline and trial weight data, then the Trial Weight routine is what you need for fast, accurate balance solutions. Manually input your data, or import a computer file containing the data. Baseline and trial weight data for each balance plane is all that is required. The results are an accurate balance solution plus Influence Coefficients that can be used for even faster results the next time you need to balance the machine.

Clear and concise balance solutions

INFLUENCE COEFFICIENT BALANCING If you save the results of previous balance runs, you can eliminate the trial weight run and balance the machine using its saved coefficients. All the same great results are available without the expense and time of doing a trial weight run! Full color graphs depict before and after results

Balance 4.0 provides engineering and maintenance personnel with unsurpassed features and capabilities

Many valuable features all easy to use

EASY DATA ENTRY Enter your measurements of speed, vibration amplitude and phase from all of your sensors in an easy to navigate table. Baseline, trial weight and check runs all use the same format for consistency and ease of entry. You can also load data from computer files for even faster results.

Input data manually or from a file

MULTI-PLANE BALANCING Balance machinery with up to 8 planes and 8 sensors. Each balance plane is individually defined with numbers of balance weight locations, direction of rotation, maximum amount of weight and other critical parameters.

Easily locate saved data

MULTI-SPEED BALANCING Balance your equipment at up to 20 different speeds to quickly and easily control multiple operating modes and vibration levels at critical speeds. Desired balancing speeds can be saved as part of each machine configuration file to ensure consistency from balance job to balance job.

Predicted results with every solution

Proven Software - The core of the Balance 4.0 software package has been used for more than 25 years in the demanding world of aircraft gas turbine engine balancing. In these applications its critical to get the solution correct the first time using the minimum amount of weight. These machines must be balanced correctly for reliability and fuel savings! This same reliability is now available to stationary machinery operators.

A tool to meet all machine balancing needs

Define each machine configuration with the easy to use editor

The Balance 4.0 software package MACHINE UTILITY makes it simple to set up. Define one machine or an entire plant. All entries are made in an easy-to-use windows format. Once completed, machine definitions are saved and automatically used when the specific machine is being balanced. Pre-defining machines eliminates configuration mistakes to ensure consistent results every time the software is used. CREATE A LIST OF YOUR MACHINES The machine configuration and parameters editor lets users establish a comprehensive list of all their machinery. YOU name the machines and YOU can use the editor to quickly enter the balance-specific parameters that are required by the balancing programs. The editor even allows you to copy one configuration and re-name it for identically machinery that you may have.

Create a list of all your machines DEFINE EACH MACHINE ONLY ONCE The parameters editor lets you define and save balance related parameters for each machine. Important parameters include vibration sensor names, vibration measurement units, balance plane configurations, balance weight sizes, and even unusable weight locations on balance planes. Once saved, parameters are used for every balance job on that machine. It makes working with Balance 4.0 easy, and ensures that configurations are always maintained. DEFINE UP TO 8 PLANES FOR EVERY MACHINE. Every balance plane can be defined with a name, plane orientation, directions of rotation, types of weights, maximum numbers of weights, maximum allowable weight, number of balance weight locations and other factors. DEFINE UP TO TWENTY DIFFERENT WEIGHT CLASSES FOR EVERY BALANCE PLANE. Every balance plane can have a different set of weights, and you can define the name, part number and size to every one. You can even specify if you have them in stock or not.

Easily define every balance plane

An easy way to define every machine in your plant

Balance without a phase signal and review saved data too

FOUR RUN BALANCE PROGRAM This unique program allows balancing even without a phase reference signal. Similar to the classic three-shot-plot balancing method, the four run-program calculates the optimum balance solution using baseline vibration readings and the vibration readings for a know weight placed in three locations on the rotor. Simply enter the data from each of the runs and a balance solution is instantly displayed. You can quickly define the rotor configuration, and weight classes available for an efficient weight distribution calculation that makes the job even easier.

Balance without a phase signal

DATA VIEWER PROGRAM Saved data is just a click away with this useful utility. Results that are saved from any of the balancing programs can be quickly accessed and viewed using the DATA VIEWER utility. Balance run logs, solution weights and summary charts can all be accessed and displayed. Select, view, print and even export the data using this handy program.

Review all saved data

START and STOP JOBS Schedules dont always permit completing the job in one shift. Fortunately Balance 4.0 allows you to pause in the middle of a job and then continue at a later time. You can even have several jobs on several different machines in various states of completion. Simply pick the job to restart and continue where you left off. A great feature that can save time and ensure that every job gets done.
