    5 PAPER SERIES : PAPER 3

    Instructions:

    1. Answers should be precise and to the point only.

    2. Do not quote the law verbatim. Frame the answer in your own words.

    3. Figures to the right indicate full marks

    4. Time allowed- 2 hours

    5. Questions are based on Law book as well as BCCI Playing conditions. Maximum Marks- 100

    1. Explain the procedure to be followed by Umpires in the case of: Player returning without Permission. 5

    2. Explain the procedure to be followed by the Umpires in case of Fielder absent or leaving the field and the restrictions
    that the fielder is likely to face thereafter. 5

    3. A batsman starts to walk back after being given out caught. The bowler who has seen the catch being taken on the
    bounce, approaches the umpire and wants to withdraw his appeal. How should this case be handled by the Umpire?

    4. Explain : Retired-not out. 2

    5. Before the toss, on what points shall the Umpires agree with the captains ? What shall they agree between
    themselves, and who are to be informed about the same? 5

    6. Explain the factors involved in making an LBW judgment. 5
