    CRAFTS/ Pinch Pot MUG Rubric Name:_____________________________

    Students will make a 3.5-4 inch high coffee mug out of red terra cotta clay.
    This section is to be filled out by the student:
    1. Did you make your pinch pot thin enough?

    2. Did you score, slip, blend on a usable handle and cleanup the surface?

    3. What do you think you did best on?

    4. What do you think you need to improve on?

    This section will be filled out by the teacher:


    Grading Criteria:
    5 points for Pinch Pot Construction: a nicely formed pinched pot, thick and is of even thickness
    5 points for Handle :Handle is a usable size and has been correctly and neatly scored, slipped and blended. Reinforced
    with a anchor coil where it attaches to the base. It is not cracked or too large or too small.
    5 points for Foot: is attached correctly, by scoring and slipping is blended well and provides a study base for the mug.
    5 points for Clean-up Project has been scraped thinner, then smoothed and clean up, rim is trimmed, even and
    rounded . It was obvious time and care went into the clean up.
    5 points for Glazing: Student correctly applied the under glaze and clear coat, Good choice of glaze colors enhance
    the surface of the project.
