GMK 7450 Telescope


Normal & Extended Emergency Access

Access normal emergency mode:

1. Press F4 once, hold right joystick deadman


switch.

2. While still holding on to the deadman switch,


press F4 again and then enter keycode BABC,
press enter.

For the normal emergency mode to work the following conditions must be met:

• Locking status signals for the boom section and cylinder must be valid
• Telescope cylinder solenoids must be without error
• At least one too low/too high proximity switch must be active & without errors on
other telescope cylinder proximity switches
• ECOS or EKS5 length measurement must be functional

Caution! should normal emergency mode not function it will be necessary to use
extended emergency mode. When using extended emergency mode extreme caution
should be used to verify the section/cylinder locking status and cylinder position.

Failure to observe the caution can lead to damage to the telescope system!

Access Second Level Extended Emergency Mode:
(Normal emergency must be active)

1. You must have a valid Dongle with installed Peak driver connected to the laptop.

NOTE: it is not necessary to connect the laptop to the crane!

2. Use taskbar ‘options’ and click on ‘Access extended emergency mode.’

3. Press F5 on the ECOS in-cab display, while in the telescope window then press C,
two code numbers will be displayed e.g. 3585 0001

4. Enter keycode 3585 in code field on laptop and press calculate. The calculated
number e.g. 23 must then be entered on the ECOS display by turning THE
POTENTIOMETER (P1) to match exactly and then press enter. The icon will then
change to tools to indicate access.

Note:

If time clock expires, go back to normal


emergency mode (as step 1) and press C &
enter to restart time clock without having to
calculate a new access code.

Reset telescope status

Note: You will have to reset the telescope


status after you re-start ECOS

1. Turn off ignition key for approx. 5/6


seconds

2. Turn on the ignition. Press F4. A red ? should


appear in the white tele box.

3. Hold down the deadman switch on the left


joystick. While holding the left deadman switch,
press F10 - F13 to view % of the tele sections in
yellow. Match the % of sections to the actual boom
configuration or choose intermediate position if
applicable.

NOTE:
Ensure that the % / intermediate positions of telescope sections viewed in the
ECOS screen matches the exact configuration of the boom.

4. Press Enter and look for a cursor to appear in the section box. Press
buttons ABAC to accept the configuration.

5. Verify that the red ? has disappeared from the white tele box. The telescope
status has been successfully reset.

Should the red ? remain and the EKS 5 boom length display flashes you must re-
check and re-enter the boom configuration status.
