5.6 Applications of Exponential and Logarithmic Functions

Examples
1 How long will a particular amount of money to double itself if
it is earning interest at an annual rate of 6% compounded
(a) quarterly, (b) continuously?
2 Soma invested P400,000 at a rate of r compounded quarterly.
In 5 years, the investment’s amount will be P1.1 million.
(a) Find the rate r expressed as a percentage.
(b) How long will it take for his money to be P1.75 million?

Round off all answers to two decimal places.
